I did take into account what T.I was saying, which has truth. What I've seen over my years is that the younger a male child is taught & shown when it comes to work ethic, the better off he'll be. Focus on securing your financial foundation, a good quality woman is not far behind.
I'm mom of two adult son's ages 20 & 30, I and their dad r constantly on them about choices, they can make or break you. Have patience, enjoy your youth before having children, give praise to our creator, treat others like you want to be treated, and work hard at what you want out of life. That's how you stay looking vibrant at age 50 along with drinking plenty of water daily, regular work out routine a must, being stress free, & drama free, no eating after 9pm. Good Luck!!

If you don't mind me asking, how long had you known your partner before you both decided to become a unit? I ask not to get in your business but more less to understand from different perspectives. I've been married twice and put all my love, time, and energy into both marriages encouraging and supporting my exes and both relationships failed because they both lost faith in what a true relationship stood for. I can't stand when I hear a woman say that she's looking for a good man and can't recognize he exists when he's right under her nose staring her right in the face. In my opinion, this is the start and the lack there is of why I believe most relationships fail. The other side of it is when a woman or man pretends to be something they're not. Not only is it being deceptive, but it's also selfish. Marriage is sacred to me and I meant to only do it once.
You said something about your partner criticizing your flaws, but quiet in your accomplishments. I'm not pointing any fingers or placing any blame, but it clearly shows that you weren't represented by someone who truly respected and loved you for the genuine person you are. I hope that when you moved on that you were able to find your perfect suitor.
From my experience TI was taught the proper way to be the head of his household. I believe that this is one of the things that was taught to you by your father that helped to sustain your marriage. I’m from Louisiana and my brothers are great husbands and been married for years because they were taught just like you. Everyone know that southern men are good men.
