    My first impressions of the new Vango F10 Nexus 2 person back packing tent. Could it be the 'Volkswagen Golf' of 2 person back packing and bike packing shelters?
    I've picked one up for just £240 and I'll be using it this summer with my wife as it has a generous 130cm wide inner , promising wind stability with its internal TXS guy system, a 'slippery' profile and semi freestanding pole set up and a hydrostatic head of 3000mm.
    At under 2kg and a tiny pack size it shouldn't weigh us down either.
    Looking forward to making this a regular choice for both of us or a spacious solo option. Should be ideal for UK and European conditions but the limited head height and shallow vestibules might be a hindrance...time will tell! What do you make of it? Helm 2 competitor but wider ?

    I have a lot of respect and admiration for vango products. Probably the #1 entry brand for many a newbie outdoors adventurer, myself imcluded. The F10 range (imo) is seen as the next step up in the brands range, and many of the F10 robust models have provided safe shelter in a storm. I like the look of this tent (I love most tents tbf). Personally I trust the brand, especially at it's price point. There appears to be some large sections of material in this model so it will be interesting to see how it handles the wind. I know the internal cross guying points help tremendously in other models in the range where used. I await part two as usual Andrew. Great video as ever .

    Nice. Trying to think which early 80's car the shape reminds me of, with that square rear. Austin princess maybe? For the TXS system, I take it's not long enough to reach to the opposite buckle and therefore cross over?

    Looks a great tent and a great review, I am a huge fan of Vango f10’s definitely quality manufacturer and great design put MSR leaky and fragile tents to shame

    Great review but please don’t forget that we still use Imperial measurements in the UK. So it would be useful to have dimensions in feet and inches!
    After all you don’t go up to the bar and order a half litre or best bitter do you ?

    Just taken delivery of mine today..
    I put it straight up in the back garden and was very impressed with its appearance and colour, I did however connect the inner the wrong way round, easy fix that one! 😄
    I then went to get my tape of truth to do my own measurements, the width was bang on at 130cm, the length came in at 5cm more than stated at 220cm, however the height was a full 8cm lower than it should have been!!
    I measured that in the centre at just 87cm, or 97cm if you drop the inner tent…way off the stated 95cm on the inner that it should have been? 🤷🏻‍♂️
    I’m only 5-10” and even I can’t sit up with a straight back inside of it whilst sitting on the ground - never mind on an inflatable mat!
    I still do really like it though, it should shed the strong wind with ease.
    Mine only weighs 1,780g as I always keep my own peg bag separate from the packed shelter.
    Great small pack size too. 👍🏻
    Looking forward to trying it out in the wild this weekend. 🏕️

      weird, mine doesn't feel that low, i wonder if theres big tolerances in size, try shortening the elastics holding the inner, i did three and it makes it much nicer inside.

    • @Ash12530
      @Ash12530 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors Yeah I did that with the elastic toggles to try and make a little more usable height/room inside! It did make a bit of difference actually, it then went from 86.5cm - to 88cm on the inner height after that. 😄
      I really like it, can’t wait to get out in it again over the weekend. 👍🏻
      First time I’ve had a tent with a red ground sheet too, which is another nice touch for spotting ticks if they get inside this shelter, (as two did a few camps ago in another tent of mine) you literally got no chance of spotting them on a black tent floor…

    Great vlog Andrew, I've not had chance to pitch my nexus yet.
    Just a quick question does the inner clip in then put the cord over the pegs meaning is inner is loose all the time?

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi Martin Id recommend doing what I did and feed the corner elastics through the webbing on the four flysheet corners and tie a knot. That way your inner is attached all the time ( but still removable if you want to dry it ). Much quicker and convenient to pitch the tent 'as one'. A

    I use the Vango Banshee 200 an excellent tiny tent with an extremely low profile thats well suited to the exposed and windy Scottish coastlines and beaches where I camp most often .However this one looks an bit larger than the Banshee inside and I'd be tempted to go and buy one but one thing I noticed about the Banshee is the groundsheet is quite thin and an concern when camping near or around thorns or rocks so I have one question?..How is the groundsheet on this model is it sufficiently strong enough and would anyone
    with an opinion have the confidence when camping near bushes stones or rocks..I agree an footprint would cure the Banshees gripe but if this one's stronger then its an excellent purchase because its so economical when compared to more expensive tents yet just like Vango ,yents in general they never let you down on quality and i swear that brand makes the best all round snd affordable tents..Well they are Scottish arent they so what would you expect?

      You could use and extra ground sheet, that seems to be what people do with fancier light weight tents. The cheap version is to use tyvek or something like that, don't remember the name exactly, but lightweight puncture proof stuff used for lining houses. My last tent disintegrated at the bottom so will likely get one ticket to with my next tent..

    I bought this tent recently and only used once so far. Tried to find a groundsheet searching wide and far and vangos own site doesn’t suggest there is one. Is there anything else out there that’s a close enough fit/size.

      Lots of rectangular ones online , but for a custom one covering the triangular vestibules it might be worth trying Lucy at quintcraft ?

      To be honest I've never seen the helm 2, both good tents but if I remember correctly the helm 2 is pretty narrow and wouldn't be that comfortable for two ?

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors Thx! I am 200 cm and an innertentlength of 220 cm and straight walls works ok. 230 cm are better but the options are rare and heavy or not really windresistant.
