    Excellent review, my uncle drove us up to 100 km. for the first time with my mom screaming in the back seat in a citroen for the first time, I was 6 years old. My uncle use to visit us in Istanbul Turkey every summer and he showed up in a Citroen one year, he lives in Sigmaringen near Bodensee Switzerland.

    As someone that has spent since 1973 in the Auto trade and gained a great deal of knowledge on an International level working abroad in both Africa and the Middle East setting up car rental offices for Avis Europcar and Hertz. I saw the vehicle for the first time in the press and wanted to know more hence You Tube. I was impressed with the vehicle and your relaxed and professional presentation style it was clear straight to the point and deserved to be complimented on...I will subscribe Thank You now to test drive one...

    Nice review and I am considering purchasing one. Question here...whilst the central screen looks like a cool idea, how practical is it? For example, is it a bit of a juggling act if you have the sat nav active, then want to change radio stations and maybe take a call? I realise corners have been cut and the design is great, but I do worry about being distracted whilst driving with the central touch screen controls.

    • @autogefuehl

      Honda had the Element, which was a fun quirky car. I own an '08 and love it.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      islandsi Which element you mean? Plastic bumps?

    • @Toaster808
      @Toaster808 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I believe they came with plastic fenders until they switched body style in 2009. However up until 2006 they only came with the unpainted ones. In 2006 Honda started to offer the EX-P model which signified that the fenders were painted. The LX always had unpainted fenders. In my opinion the 07-08 Elements were the best years. More power, better seats, better stereo, better looking instrument cluster, black housing headlights, and the seat belts were built into the seats instead of the back door. Again, I'm a bit partial here because I actually own a kiwi green 2008 EX. :)
      I'd love to get my hands on one of these cactus things though. They'll never bring them to the US though. I assume they have a carpeted interior, right?

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      islandsi Interesting!
      By carpeted interior you mean if there is also a seat interior withouth leather but textile? Yes there is. I think this car will be bought in lower trim levels as well as its really very cheap then.

      Qaisar Akram Thanks! We tried only that one engine yet, but it seemed fined. Only werent too keen on the automated manual transmission, you probably go for the real manual one.

    With the combination of the car color and those shorts, gives me the feeling this review was filmed in Hawaii or the Bahamas. Now I feel like going on holiday after watching this. It’s a shame they have not made better rear seats on this model, the folding looks a bit of a nightmare. For the price its really an amazing car, according to a recent UK survey, Citroen ranks one of the highest in terms of overall customer satisfaction among Mercedes and Volvo. Citroen really does give the feeling they are the car maker of the future or from the future!

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      anythingyouwant29 haha! =) Actually we filmed that one at home in Germany close to our city in the countryside, where we use to go with test vehicles. It was that hot that day that it reached 40 C inside the car - so there was a little bit of Hawaii ;-)
      The price is really amazing as long as you keep low on the trims, indeed. Citroen has got financial problems as you might know, as for the whole PSA group, but products like these might save them.

    • @anythingyouwant29
      @anythingyouwant29 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interestingly enough I actually went skiing in the summer in Germany, it was a nice indoor skiing trip. So there is also a tropical holiday destination in Germany will put that on the bucket list for winter.
      Interestingly enough the financial crisis is not affecting Citroen in particular, its affecting all car makers today in Europe. When certain German car makers say there is a 6 to 12 month waiting list, its not an issue of exclusivity or marketing hype, its efficient financial management and not having over stocked cars sitting doing nothing, then forcing dealerships to offer massive discounts. Citroen with possible financial issues, like many car companies the technology and know how will probably end up going to the Chinese, but just when Jaguar and Volvo had the same issues the question was as is of now, which car company will be next?

    It's a really interesting car. I'm gonna buy a new car next year and right now i have the Renault Clio 2014 and I'm quite intreagued by this car. The only downside that i see it is that the air conditioning is controled via the touchscreen and not by physical buttons. Great review

    Nice review and film !!!
    But it looks like Citroen / PSA have missed a couple of obvious things. Firstly at the rear of the car, instead of the hatch, they should have used a split tailgate, like in their Peugeot 3008. As the loading lip looked very high and awkward. And it would have suited the cars's character and design brief / ethos etc.
    Also perhaps they should have used their 4Hybrid drive-train on this vehicle too ?? !!

    I'm interested in this car but somewhat curious if it´s more of a city car or also comfortable for highway. 90% of my driving is highway after all and I drive a C5 right now. Do not like that the steering wheel can not be adjusted as much as I'm used to.. may struggle to find a good driving position because of this.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Benny Kleykens Hey Benny! To be honest, do not go for it then. The seating position is not comfortable for long highway trips. In a few days, I will upload my review to the C4 Cactus and talk about that aspect in detail - stay tuned!

      Benny Kleykens drove a cactus on the motorway on a 300 mile trip, effortless cruiser, even creeping up to 90 mph with ease, the seats are very comfortable, maybe if you have back issues, then the missing lumbar support may be an issue, but we loved the seats and found the to be very comfortable, arriving at our destination as fresh as when we left

    I really like this review. Simple, clear and friendly. But I wish I could hear more about the engine, and the automatic transmission and the consumption of the car... Is 3,1l for 100km is close to reality or it is fairy tale...
    Any way I like the method of the review...

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gurcan Okumus Thank you very much. We didnt have the car that long so we couldnt say real facts about the consumption. But 3,1 l / 100 km will never happen, that's for sure. You usually have to add 2 litres. As for the automated manual transmission, we cannot recommend that one. Better go for the plain manual one as long as they dont offer a classic torque converter automatic transmission

    • @BlitzkriegRap
      @BlitzkriegRap 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should definitely go for a BlueHDI diesel with a 6-speed manual if you want efficiency(even though all the avaiable engines are quite efficient), with that combination I seriously doubt you will manage to average more than 4L/100km.

  • @banpowel9784
    @banpowel9784 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you need to explain the robotised manual properly, as its not really an automatic, the idea behind it, due to its lightweight, is to save fuel, one has to learn how to use it, gentle pedal pressure works best, as it picks up speed very nicely, whereas using kick down hinders this progress, it all offers better fuel economy that the 5 speed manual, and once mastered is as smooth as silk. And you get the best of both worlds, a car that behaves like an automatic, but without the fuel penalty associated with automatics

  • @PlatineIridie
    @PlatineIridie 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great review. Any downsides to this new Citroen model?

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Well we weren't too keen on the automated manual transmission, it's a bit slow and provokes this nodding when shifting. Plus the car gets relatively expensive when you pack it with optional features. The geniously low price you can really only keep with the most basic version, with probably will work fine. In general, its a great concept that you can drive a fun car withouth having to spend loads of money.

    • @PlatineIridie
      @PlatineIridie 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danke for your answer. Interesting view point.
      Again, your video is excellent. There are many reviews on youtube but often from English channels from what I see. Often good but they try a little too hard to be funny whereas your style is much more pedagogic and relaxing. Also, they often complain the glove box is too small or things like that but it might just be because they are testing right-hand driving cars. Which irrelevant for all other European countries.
      A bit more details on the engine / gearbox combo you recommend, fuel efficiency and maintenance costs (never mentioned in any videos) and your channel will be best in class. Cheers!

    Would like to know more detail about the airbump panels. Have worked in engineering for 50 years and owned 2 DSs and 2 IDs, so like to examine features closely. Unless proven otherwise, I would say that the airbumps add unnecessary weight and cost. Why not just put vinyl overlays, something like those "magnetic" signs used on commercial vehicle doors? Think of all the possibilities of colour and artworks. I would go for a desert scene of the U.S. southwest with Cacti - really "groovy"!!! Besides, this car is not simple or minimalist enough for me - and I don't mean we should go for a 2CV - just somewhere in between.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Omar Jette also a good idea. But maybe these ones would be stolen then? Another C4 Cactus review is being made by us atm, we will talk more about the air bumps there as well.

    • @omarjette3859
      @omarjette3859 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Thank you, sir! Unfortunately there are vandals everywhere - and they would not bother to steal an ordinary commercial sign. So I wondered how these airbump panels are affixed. This reminds me of 60s & 70s when it was fashionable to apply a (factory or aftermarket) leather grained vinyl skin on the car roofs. If we drove through a "wild animal" park we would risk getting the vinyl torn off by baboons, so were advised to use the park's autobus.

    Very good, but nothing about fuel consumpion, which is a big sales point for this car. It is really very frugal, the best of any car I know. Also nothing about the use of aluninium in it's construction, and the car's resultant light weight. Brian

      goldmartijn That's a good question we cannot find out at the moment. But if it does, it should be easy to replace it.

    Es una muy buena idea la de Publicitar el Citroen C4 Cactus en estos Lares
    Yo también lo Publicitare. Mi C4 Cactus que con apenas 10 días desde su matriculación lleva 5 en el taller en espera de REPUESTOS que ni esta ni saben en Citroen cuando llegara, Curiosamente a 10 kilómetros del taller donde se encuentra parado por falta de piezas mi vehículo esta la factoría de Villaverde, donde se fabrica este modelo. Para venderte coches si tienen piezas pero para repararlos NO
    Mi Flamante C4 Cactus esta en Comercial Citronen, S.A. AV .de San Martin de Valdeiglesias ,6

    I don't know about you...but I don't like diesels....they stink...from refuelling them to the exhaust smell.
