The disk system was released and produced until 2003 so it had a long lifespan. It also had a very important role for gaming culture in japan. It was made because renting games in Japan had become illegal in 1984 due to protect the market for privacy (in 1984 Japan was mainly gaming on computers like MSX which was produced by Microsoft, yeah MS had a gaming device in japan before the Xbox). The disk system was released in 1986 (at the time japan gaming culture had moved towards console gaming. However there was now a demand for a way to play new games cheap. Since rental was an option the Disk System was invented where you could copy a new game on to the disk for a small fee at certain disk system kiosk. The disk system was simply a way gamers could try new games on the cheap instead of buying games. It was invented to upgrade the Famicom (even though it could produce better sound and graphics).
This is about the hundredth time I've watched a FamiCorner episode! Always great seeing kooky Famicom games that might (or might not) be worth importing! Looking forward to the next installment!!
Hello Dave!!! Finally i found your chanel. I was subscribed to you back in the days you had DaveThomasFilms. DaveLog, Ask SuperHero, Pull My pants up music video! God you were awesome. Even had one of my questions answered at one of the Davelogs. I had another chanell back then. But finally im back, and im gonna watch every last one of your videos! Sorry for bad english, and hello again:)
That's a pretty neat bit of software. The disk system fascinates me somewhat. When i was a lad if games weren't on cassette they were on floppy disks on Amiga, BBC Micro and the like. The idea of a console having a disk drive makes the Famicom stand out. Will look forward to seeing more Disk games covered on here someday.
I can't believe you only have 16,000 views on this video. I'm loving these weird famicom controller videos. I hope you can get your hands on a Capcom Mahjong controller, I've always wanted to see those in action.
Wow! I never knew this existed! Pretty awesome how you can create your own 8-bit music. Great job on your theme song in 8-bit. Sounds like something out of Mega-Man!
You should cover the konami 3 player option in stinger on the FDS. I did a video on that back in the day and found it interesting how they used the light gun port for player 3.
Interesting game Nintendo and discs dint get along very well from the Nes up to the WiiU with a proprietary variant BluRay tech that doesn't play BluRay movies... As always, great work
Dave! You should review some more switch games! Your reviews really are top notch. I know your heart set on retro, but i feel like it would be such a great fit with your channel. Im sure I'm not the first to say.
Actually, belive or not, this game is absolutely not Konami at all. :P When I analyzed the data sctructure and pointers of the FDS disk image, it REEKS of HUMAN ENTERTAINMENT, which is understandle since around this time they were also experimenting with Exciting Boxing's pluffball boxer device. So apart from Konami's publishing rights, Human Entertainment did all the peripherial and the sofware design as well.
Gradius but no Castlevania or Metal Gear? Pretty sure the first entries for both were already out at the time, so it seems like an odd choice, especially since Castlevania has always been known for its music. I mean, this IS the same company that, 30-ish years later, decided that it didn't like money anymore...
DID YOU JUST SAY THAT. "Three instruments, bass..." okay Dave, I've enjoyed so many of your videos but this ends now because you don't even consider my instrument as an instrument!
The quality of this channel is astounding.
He deserves way more views/subs.
Publiciting one's channel on other's channel comments, is rude.
It is a treat when Dave uploads.

This is genuinely really cool haha, also your videos are always so well made.

CH OH SN = closed hat, open hat, snare.
That version of the Gradius theme is a jam. Seems like the best thing about this game!
Gamedave needs so many more subs/views! My current favourite youtuber.
This is about the hundredth time I've watched a FamiCorner episode! Always great seeing kooky Famicom games that might (or might not) be worth importing! Looking forward to the next installment!!
Yay more Famicorner! Always love these reviews!
These Famicorner videos are really interesting. I've been curious about the system for awhile and have been thinking about getting a Famicom myself
Mind blown, to think that this exists! It's amazing! What a piece of 8-bit history. Amazing video, man!
I am very surprised that you don't have too many of subs. I love your channel and you Dave!

Getting to hear you play the Game Dave theme song in that game was pure magic! ✨

Yaahhh!!! Game Dave Theme!!!!! You killed it, Dave.

great one dave! you´re awesome.
greetings from austria.
Amazing video, it takes a special person to make a video review about a piano game funny
10:06 Ghost-Busters!
Great quality dude! Keep it up!
I thought the quality of the song remix you made was gonna suck but I am impressed, cool piece of hardware!
I would be really impressed to see someone play that gradius theme on any size keyboard
OMG! I've been waiting for so long. :')
Had to give a like for the fact he did the Game Dave theme song! !
Game Dave why you so kool lol. I love your channel keep up the good work enjoyed every video!!!!
Awesome video as usual!
I’m 4 years late but I legit smiled when he went into the Beavis and Butthead theme
Thanks from Brazil, Dave! Nice job with this video.
Everybody should see your videos & subscribe to this channel.
Not doing this is unacceptable.
That was pretty dope.
You should cover the konami 3 player option in stinger on the FDS. I did a video on that back in the day and found it interesting how they used the light gun port for player 3.
I never knew Robert Smith was such a talented fiddle player
Interesting game
Nintendo and discs dint get along very well from the Nes up to the WiiU with a proprietary variant BluRay tech that doesn't play BluRay movies...
As always, great work
I buying this game and playing running in the 90s from initial D
Dave! You should review some more switch games! Your reviews really are top notch. I know your heart set on retro, but i feel like it would be such a great fit with your channel. Im sure I'm not the first to say.
Actually Fami only! Get this new stuff outthere, plenty people covering that
Really hoping he does BOTW. I know that's an over popular game right now but would love to hear Dave's opinion.
excellent !!!!
Dave missed opportunity to play some Pianotallica!
If it is at all possible to shit your pants from excitement then I came close.Thank you for your great videos as usual.
I still think the original PlayStation had the best load screens. Man they were great.
No joke but that piano still looks like it would function well as a really budget Midi Keyboard (If you didn't need different velocities anyway)
Nice video
Yes my Game Dave fix.....
check the time stamp 3:11
Instant like before going to bed in Spain
CH - Closed Hihat
OH - Open Hihat
SN - Snare
Maybe switchable?
Avgn: Yeah I'm shooting ducks with the piano
Actually, belive or not, this game is absolutely not Konami at all. :P

MrNorbert1994 That would actually make sense, as Konami published their other title Exciting Boxing, as well as a motorcycle title they did.
Why does the magic forest have a student driver sign on it (I only know it's a student driver sign because of Katamari Damacy)
If you continue this series, you should check out Utsurun Desu.: Kawauso Hawaii e Iku!!!.
If I live in a volcano, where do I store my Famicom Disk.
I keep my FDS games in an unplugged spare mini fridge. No joke. No magnetic forces gonna get it now.
7:09 Was that the beavis and butthead theme?!
Please please please use the recreation of your theme song instead of the original. It is really fitting.
T H I C C 8-bit songs are the best.
Obligatory you deserve more subs comment. G'day mate.
7:08 Sounds just like the Beavis and Butthead theme!
He uh, "Loves" the music 7:51
I need that T-Shirt!
Dave you remind me of that guy that hosted that 1980s TV show called Video Power. you're not as weird though :P
Bring us that Breath of the Wild review! This was still a great episode though.
Yes! Yes! And more Yes!!!
...so is this technically a precursor to “Keyboardmania”?
My favorite FDS game so far is Arumana no Kiseki
Beavis and Butthead theme
Who needs LSDJ after this!
Where did you learn japanese ?????!
Actually, this is thanks to someone having to translate it first.
Mygingerguy it gives impression that he knows japan . That clever Dave
they missed an opportunity to have this be guitar hero precursor.
How'd you get your hands on that keyboard? It seems like it would be pretty rare...
Beavis & Butthead playing at 7:20 ?
the correct spelling of the game is Doremiko (only 1 k). In the Japanese language there is no "K" by itself.
7:10 that's beavis and butthead theme
We need a proper review by 8-bit keys
beavis and butthead theme song?
Just wanted to check the comments if anyone else noticed ^^
It totally was!
7:09 YES! I KNEW I HEARD THAT TUNE FROM SOMEWHERE!
Gradius but no Castlevania or Metal Gear? That is mr school computer teacher
Keep Creating please!
Did you ever play Halo?
Damn, even back then you had to buy a charger seperately???
The batteries last for a long time, since it's only powered when it needs to read or write to disk. The expansion sound is from the RAM cartridge.
Finally, i´m wating a chapther for the doremiko, greetings dave, from peru
Do you know Japanese デイブ様❓
The thing missing from because and butthead are the laughing
Truck off, Roundeye
Haha, Beavis and Butthead theme ftw!
In Doremikko the only thing you play is yourself.
should have done the titanic song
DID YOU JUST SAY THAT. "Three instruments, bass..."
okay Dave, I've enjoyed so many of your videos but this ends now because you don't even consider my instrument as an instrument!
THICC 9:30
