Letting go is the hardest. My girlfriend rescued a litter of nine cats from under her house several years ago. She house trained them exceptionally well then adopted them out. So sad, but I did keep one for myself and he's been the greatest cat ever. He was so skinny and anemic when we first found him. He made a full recovery and is so full of life. Anyways there is my "no one asked" moment.
Every country needs help managing their domestic pet over population except for places that freeze. Unfortunately nature does its thing in those countries. 😢

I cried tears of joy for Mija. 😭 Thank you for rescuing her from such a hard life in Mexico. Mija's new mom seems like such a nice and loving person. You could immediately tell she is a dog person.

Back in 2014 I adopted a little senior minpin girl from a wonderful lady who couldn’t keep her anymore. We met at a shopping mall and the lady sat down on the pavement and held her dog and cried for a half hour. Next thing I knew, I was crying too and I told her we would have an open adoption and for the next 7 years I would text her updates and pictures, even on the last day. It was a wonderful experience and we are still friends. Thank you for helping these dogs find their forever homes.

I am sitting here with my son’s rescue dog from Mexico. She is such a sweet girl and loves her grandma with all her heart. The feeling is mutual. Thank you for your good work saving these sweet babies❤️.
We adopted a rescue dog from a foster mom. She cried and had wanted to keep her! I have kept in touch with her to let her know we love our dog. Bless these wonderful people!
That was so heartbreaking to see Mija get into the suitcase for fear of the couple leaving her behind. I'm glad she's got a new home and a good life now. Bless all three of you for saving her.

Mija has no idea what a suitcase is and probably has never seen one ever in her life before I can assure you that. It’s awesome what this couple does for dogs though. Finding them forever homes and seeing them live a happy life and being loved coming from a street life has to be very rewarding . It’s too bad people won’t help other people the same way.

I cried too because I completely get those connections. Our pets become our kids too. They are family. Saying goodbye to them is so so hard, but also shows our love for them.

This is why many people don't foster. You invest so much emotion, time, care--it's like sending your first born off into the world when they start college. You know that you've given them wings, it's hard to watch them fly away even though you know it's in their best interest to bless someone else with the opportunity to love them unconditionally. You have to teach yourself to let that go and remember that you're sending that soul off to a good life with people who can love and care about them.
I rescued a female Lab/Staffy a year and a half ago. My girl had been living in a crate, in a kennel in a warehouse with 200+ other dogs and was afraid of everything in the modern world. This has been both the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done. THANK YOU for your important work.

I cried as hard as Alex as they said goodbye to Mija. Knowing their sweet girl was off to have the next step in her amazing new life is great. The tears are bittersweet bit happy & a wee bit sad. Alex & Brady are totally amazing & even though I don't know them I'm extremely proud of both of them!

Oh, I never ever could say goodbye to a dog that I'd nursed back to health. I wonder how traumatizing that separation is for the dog.
I think of that too. I get you can't keep every dog you rescue but, when that dog forms a strong bond with you. They don't understand why you give them away, and they don't forget it. 💔

I brought a kitten home from Puerto Vallarta. She survived Hurrican Kenna. When I found her she was so weak she couldn't even run away. I took her to the vet, got her some medicine, necessary vaccines, fed and watered her and was able to get a certificate of good health to bring her home to the states. We of course named her Kenna. She passed away 12 years later in 2013. She was a great pet. I still miss her.
Mija is such a lovable dog. Her new mom showed affection like her former foster parents. Thanks God for her new home🙏.

Seeing Alex cry bitter sweet tears both for the sadness of missing mija, and the joy knowing she was going to a good home reminds me of when my foster baby that I had for 100 days got adopted. I was so happy for him and he went to the perfect home, but I cried for two weeks.

Since “mija” is a contraction of “mi hija” or “my daughter,” this dog is quite a special girl.

Able to transform anyone and anything, so incredibly blessed simply to be touched by it, into an awe-inspiring reflection of itself - so full of grace and gratitude. And you can see it in that dogs eyes. It's a shame that, on this planet, at least, Love is so incredibly rare to encounter.

I know exactly how adoption day feels whenever you're the one fostering animals. I cried buckets the day I watched all the kittens from my mama cat got adopted 🥲
Tears of sadness turned to tears of joy once I saw Mija with her new mommy. She will never forget her guardian angels who started this amazing and wonderful journey to her new life. Mija only knows love now, and I hope the couple know that they are responsible for her incredibly happy life that she deserves. This couple is so sweet and kind, and they are amazing human beings.
