    Great comparison -- clearly construed and clearly sets out a winner.
    Predict that Hemisphere will take a huge bite out of it's competitor's market share.
    Keep up the informative marketing!

      Hi David, gald you enjoyed the video. We are working on getting some other receivers in, including a Trimble R12i.

    Would love to see this against a fully unlocked Trimble R12i. In the last video against the R10, someone commented about comparing to a total station shot in heavy canopy. We recently did this where we compared three (3) averaged 10 second shots of our BRX7 off a full constellation RTN base (dumped between each shot, baseline around 10km) against a doubled CRX2 shot in Starnet. The control for the RTS was set using Starnet and the same aforementioned RTK and RTS methods The difference, from memory, was roughly 5mm. The caveat being that, no, we did not return 4+ hr later for a new constellation geometry shot. The Starnet results met the required precision for the job so we left it at that.

      Hi Jaccen, we are working on getting a Trimble R12i in as well. As I mentioned to Ivo down below I have added the over time fix quality to the list. Thanks for the suggestion!

      @@benchmarkequipment Np. I enjoy these S631/BRX7 comparisons as no one else seems to do them. Whether you're a FieldGenius or Carlson fan, Hemisphere has a pretty good "magic box on a stick." Cheers!

    That is a good comparison, but a better test might be to occupy the exact same point (ideally of known coordinates) under challenging conditions, and compare the resulting coordinates 1) between the different receivers and 2) between the same receiver over a period of time (say 2 hours). A fix by itself is nice (impressive actually right up by the buildings), but repeatability is better.

      Hi Ivo, I would check out this video on repeatability under canopy for the S631: th-cam.com/video/EgZuwKsxMRE/w-d-xo.html

    • @ivonedev9449
      @ivonedev9449 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benchmarkequipment I just saw that - impressive - but the key is to wait, so that the satellite configuration (geometry) changes significantly. Anything under 5 min is really the same shot. Try it at 2h, 4h, 8h, etc. Of course at some point the sky will start ± repeating... Nice system, too bad it won't play nice with Survey Pro...

      @@ivonedev9449 I will add the long time scale repeatbility test to the list. I would recommend taking a look at FieldGenius we offer training with all RTK systems.

    How does this compare to the Carlson BRX7? Or are they the same thing with different colors? How does this compare to the Foif a90?

    • @benchmarkequipment
      @benchmarkequipment  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lucas, Carlson does not make any of their own hardware. The Carlson BRx7, 6 and 5 were all rebranded Hemisphere receivers. The Foif A90 uses a different internal board, made by unicor. We have not done any in depth testing with that unit.

    • @lucasdill8718
      @lucasdill8718 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benchmarkequipment Thanks for the intel. I wonder if this will turn into a similar situation as DJI with legislation trying to cracking down on the DJI aircraft used by U.S. government drone programs. I can only speculate but I would assume all these internal boards are coming from overseas and I'm sure some are being used to map some pretty classified areas without concern.

    • @benchmarkequipment
      @benchmarkequipment  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lucasdill8718 , Hemisphere has divested from China for this exact reason. I suspect you are probably correct on potential bans (at least for government contracts) for the Unicor boards.

    Great video , good points all around. Nice to see leica working on field genius - I thought they were going the way of only letting it run on their own software.

    • @benchmarkequipment
      @benchmarkequipment  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not sure if they have certain features locked to their own software, but it was working for RTK with tilt.
