Hello Victor - thank you for watching us Whilst we have had no deer problems Callicarpa is not on the RHS list of plants which are more resistant to deer damage unfortunately but of course you can put it in a pot - keep it to a decent size and keep it fed and watered All the best 🌻
I think I will protect the young shrub with chicken wire for 12 months and then see if it can cope without protection. The deer and rabbits seem to prefer the fresh growth of young plants.

A couple of questions. We have a problem with deer. Will deer nibble the young growth? As an alternative, can Callicarpa be grown in pots?

Deer love american beautyberry. My bet is they will eat it there too if same family

@@DhobyVic we propagate beautyberry on our farm just for the deer. If they can reach it, they are gonna eat it. Good luck sir!
