No one seems to be talking about how the last track has an interlude/musical that leads directly into the first track. That just makes it more fun for me. Also great review/reaction!
Honestly think this album feels perfectly like Linkin Park. Vibes from every album (and most albums had variety too). Huge fan and can't wait for more from this era
Absolutely agree. Still love and miss Chester forever and his era is forever my fav LP, but also i also like the Emily era now with that album so I'm interested in what's coming next with her as singer (in few years maybe next album?)
Yup, I've always enjoyed his content for the same reason. He's not pretending anything, and he's not cynical like Fantano/Brad Taste, you know... these types of dudes.
same, I have that a lot actually. Some of my absolute favourite songs (not just LP) I didn't recognize as anything special when I heard them for the first time. Only after listening the second and third time I could appreciate it. Weird
Weird, I had the opposite. I gave it a chance but other than whats forced into my ears from league of legends, there is nothing here thats Linkin Park. It's sounds more like a paramore cover band.
Yeah it is "just fun", but from interviews and stuff, i feel like they really just wanna have fun and that's it. Mike said when the band got together after 5 or 6 years to just hang up, talking for hours, playing some music and than slowly begin to reform themselves with Emily and Collin and AFTER these 10 songs were ready they started to talk about what to do, if they should try again, if they should rename the band, if they should just do it, etc. So yeah, i guess this was finding joy again in playing music together and i honestly love that for them❤
All I’ll say is I think it’s pretty established that most Linkin Park albums grow and become more appreciated as time passes. Also regarding your comment about wanting more than “just fun” - I think after everything they’ve gone through, they probably just wanted to do something a bit more fun. Mike’s got his Post Traumatic album dealing with Chester’s passing, and they’ve dealt with the grief for 7 years, so I reckon they wanted to have fun just making music again and not lean on the “deep/sad” aspects so much. I could be wrong but from interviews and context, I can completely see this being the case.
I do respect them not doing an album focused on the obvious. A LP album about Chester would have been heartbreaking and probably really good (a la Holy Hell) but at the same time it's probably good for them to move on and have fun making music again
@ exactly, plus with all due respect to Emily having her sing about it would be weird as she didn’t know Chester, hence why I think that subject is best left to either a Mike-only LP song (which they’re not gonna do on their first album back showcasing their new vocalist) or his solo stuff. I mean god knows these guys need some fun after what they’ve had to go through.
did they grieve for 7 years though? Mike met Emily in 2019... 2 years after Chester's passing. And they didn't write the record in 2 months and rehearse for the live shows. I wouldn't be surprised if they started to talk about starting up LP again in like 2020-2021... which let's face it is too soon considering the circumstances. So they started working on the new music and then went around giving interviews saying they're grieving and they don't know if the band will continue, while they were working on a record behind the scenes. On a human level I am quite disappointed with the band and how the fans took this whole thing without thinking much. And at the same time they say well Emily is "perfect" to carry Chester's legacy forward. I personally feel so weird about the whole thing.
I think this album feels more like Emily's resume to the fans. It's showing that she and the band are capable of both capturing the old sounds of Linkin Park and capturing new ones, and while I think they succeeded, I think it leaves little room for exploring these different sounds as thoroughly as I would have liked. I enjoyed it overall, I even love a few of the songs, and I appreciate it for what it is, but I hope they dig a little deeper on the next album.
Yup, very strong Thousand Suns vibes and that's always been one of my favourite LP albums. I loved it just as much as I did Two Faced; easily my two favourite songs from the album
As someone who started with Living Things, which is still one of my favourite albums of all time, I just love that the Album felt like a journey through all of their eras. They're not just giving us Hybrid Theory 2 because thats what people want, they're embracing all their work while still giving people what they want. Love everything about it!
Even though I like meteora and hybrid Theory more than the hunting party, this album sounds like Hunting Party 2.0 and sounds like a good update from that album....I like that they are continuing the rap-rock sound that made them famous, even if they also are expanding on one more light softness....
I wonder if the feeling of the lack of depth is purely the fact that Linkin Park giga made it. They're not young, angsty, and fighting for their place. They made it, they've got their big houses and families. It's harder to make meaningful music when things are really good. I particularly enjoy this album and like it for being kinda disparate. Based on the interviews it's clear that Emily didn't collaborate in the writing process for a lot of songs, and I'm wondering if the next album (assuming there is one) will feature some more meat as they'll all be collaborating on writing from scratch. At the end of the day too, we need to remember that Mike has always liked to anticipate musical trends and I think he was interested in short, pop-y, and relatable tracks as it's going to be an intro point for a lot of new fans. As much as I'd like another thematically dense album like ATS, I've long felt that LP lightened up significantly in their lyrical composition since Living Things. And that's okay! You can read more into further listens if you wish.
You might have a point if Mike didn’t prove he can still write deep songs with Post Traumatic being his most poignant lyrics, this didn’t need to be a super sad album but it needed more depth than it has
I think I liked this a lot more than most. I was super into LP for their first 2 albums. I liked some stuff off every single album that followed but was largely underwhelmed by the vast majority of them. I think this is genuinely their 3rd best album but I don’t expect most people to agree, especially when you consider my three favourite songs are Good Things Go, Two Faced and Over Each Other in that order. And I know 2 of those 3 haven’t been particularly well received. But hey, different strokes for different folks I guess…
Only Over Each Other isn't well received, Two Faced is literally a HT/Meteora song and every fan wants that, Good Things Go is simply a great and emotional song
@@QuangHaMinh-hg8vs Hence why I said 2 out of 3. Because I like Over Each Other and Good Things Go a lot and they’re two of the songs I’ve seen the most criticism/ambivalence about.
@@watadam1992 idk, from everywhere I go on the internet ppl seems to like GTG a lot (if ever mentioned). Literally the only "criticism" I've seen for GTG is that it's "doesn't sound like LP song but rather a Dead Sara song", but that's it
As someone who pretty much stopped listening to Linkin Park after Minutes to Midnight this album definitely brought me back in. Very interesting mix of tracks on this album, some definitely better than others for my own taste. Fun album, excited to see where they go after this one. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Bogdan
@@DejaVuDarkmistIf you liked Overflow at all, I highly recommend A Thousand Suns. At least Iridescent. Also Living Things is pretty good. Burn it Down is like Cut the Bridge but imo better. Cut the Bridge is growing on me fast though.
one thing ive always liked about your content and brad taste's is that you guys are 100% honest in every reaction both of you were mixed on this album, and weren't afraid to hide it like most other reactors.
I really agree with you on it's simplicity and maybe on their next album with Emily it'll be more impactful but I am excited for the return! I subbed btw
Emily's voice sounds simple and one tone only when they want it to. That is the least we can conclude listening to all songs :)Great album, especially for diverse people (like myself) can not get bored
I agree tbh, I actually think the problem isn’t Emily at all she can sing well. It’s the writing. This band has so much emotional stuff to write about, and it just feels a bit meh
As a long time Linkin Park fan I gotta say I really appreciate how this album pays hommage to everything that came before it while also sounding fresh and not being all over the place. And even though I think its a little too short, it really nicely puts a bow on what LP have done so far and I think its a great starting point for a new era of the band. I'm happy with it!
It feels like From Zero is taking us through the Linkin Park museum. HT, Meteora, MtM, 1000Suns, Living Things, Hunting Party & 1ML. All of the albums are felt here, but nothing really new. Which is fine with me. I love that they're finally going back to their old style with some songs and hope they continue. I can understand being a little disappointed though.
They produced the Songs but they didnt expect in which direction it will going. Its very Mixed but theres safe a Song for every listener. I Think next Album will more Focused
I think they did it on purpose and will continue to do it, since they didn't like people pigeonholing them as just nu metal when they considered themselves an experimental band.
I feel like the biggest disconnect is that even when I try no to, I cant help but compare it to what came before. I grew up with Linkin Park, Hybrid Theory was the first cd I ever bought and I can't help but feel like there's just something not there that was when I was growing up.
It's a decent comeback. Some good songs (Heavy is the crown, the emptiness machine, two faced, IGYEIH), some bad ones (Stained, Over each other), but I'm glad they came back, and Emily rocks.
I would not say bad, just different styles. One more light also was becoming popular later on - especially after chester passed away. And some songs will grow on people with time - even some meteora and hybrid theory tracks just got popular at later stages
I've listened to LP all my life and this felt like coming home. Even if the feeling aren't all there at the surface, that emotion of seeing a familiar face with a warm meal on the table never stops being awesome lol.
I've been trying to understand my thougths on this album better, and you pretty much described exactly what I'm thinking/feeling. The Emptiness Machine I love musically and lyrically, and really connect with it, the other songs not so much, some are fun, some to me are not as fun. The deepness the band's music usually has doesn't seem to be around much, or at least not delivered in a way it really cuts deep.
I think as an Architects fan you were predisposed to expect from LP what Architects delivered after Tom's passing, they produced a masterpiece as Doomsday and a whole album like Holy Hell.. I completely agree that when this is the standard this LP album is underwhelming
I didn't see anyone mentioning that sometimes it sounds a looot like Within Temptation. I've listened a lot of that album with songs like "Supernova" and "Mad World" and I find them quite similar. She sometimes sounds like Dolores from Cranberries as well. Great tracks! Good new era.
I would say maybe 6 or 7 songs are playlist for me from this album. But I totally agree with your review Bogdan to this day I still can't believe Chester is gone and taking this approach coming back getting a new singer I'm kind of 50/50 like I'm happy their back and putting out music and finding a great vocalist like Emily and the other half is like but I still miss Chester and he was such unique special talent to this band. The album was solid overall
Thank you for being critical and mature about your opinion. I see too many critics throwing insults and not making efforts to be respectfully critical.
I see plenty of critics just voicing their opinion being attacked by fans who are getting very personal with insults, which is ironic coming from fans of a band that speaks for mental health
Went into it today expecting to find it okay at best and ended up really enjoying it. Gave it a few solid listens over the course of my work day and must say I'm pretty impressed with the pacing and general sound of the album.
I am not surprised by your review of this album it clearly is not your taste in music based on what you like in your reaction videos. This is the best thing about music there is something for everyone out there.
Right? Even riffs that were tonally less heavy on old albums have more of a punch, coupled with Emily’s screams not having much of a punch, none of it hits as hard as you’d want it to
Gonna be honest the album did nothing for me. I appreciate the hype there getting, it's just there's nothing to really come back to. It's just flatline the whole album.
See you in 2 years 😂 look at every linkin park album in the past, 2-3 instand bangers or songs where you feel like „yeah, nice“ and the rest grows. This album in particular feels like a bit of every episode they had in the past and new influences. And ill bet, that some songs will grow on you - as it did with all the albums in the past 😄 even meteora and hybrid theory (the teo album everyone refers to) had songs that got the right recognition just after years
I think it’s going to take a few albums for them to figure it out. I do agree with you though, I would have liked them to go into a bit more about the journey. You’ve got From Zero as the title for obvious reasons but think they could have talked more about that which would have made more of songs more impactful. Starting over again etc… I’m just glad they’re back making music though…
Also I expected more from this album. I like it for sure but I did not find something really impactful or emotional. Although I appreciate the tracks which reminds to their early stuff, it's not what I wanted from them. I mean, I glad they are still capable to deliver us heavy songs but I don't want just those tracks to appeal to nostalgia, I think they're capable to find an actual new identity with Emily. Even with that at least for now now is a solid work to start now with the addition of the 2 new members and hoping in the future they'll make something really new and possibly good for my liking at least
I feel like they tried to use only her voice to make songs hit harder when they also needed instrumentals to hit harder with her. And so it made the songs seem less energetic and sounding more the same with each one. But in saying that I’m sure they wanted to showcase her voice with being new to the band.
I have a feeling that we're gonna get new albums fairly faster now maybe every 1-2 years considering how good of a song writer mike is he can definitely pump out albums faster than other artists that depend on third party writers
I heard some ppl say this is their best album of all time and Emily is better than Chester? Don’t know if the band is paying people to say this but yeah…
I think for me at least, 3/4 of the singles were very good and got my expectations higher. Didn’t get much out of any of the new content we got on release
I think it's an okay 6/10 album. Feels like a regurgitation of their past works (which I understand for a comeback) but kinda watered down. Mike sounds kinda corny a lot of the time, and Emily clearly can't scream very well, which ruins most heavier moments, cause all I can focus on is her voice cracking. This is sadly continuing the trend of me not going back to new LP albums. But this is pretty much what I expected.
this is totally unrelated, but your accent is so nice and i love the way it hits my ear. it’s like ASMR. can i ask where you are from because this accent is really doing something for me 😂
thank you! I am originally from Ukraine, not sure if I still have what is considered a more stereotypical slavic accent, but yea you got me, english indeed is not my first language haha
@ ah, ok, thank you! i knew you had an accent, but your english is so good that i never would have suspected that english wasn't your first language. you speak like a native english speaker. praying for the people of ukraine. so sorry on behalf of my idiot country (i voted for the non-felon). 😔
The 'i just want them to make Hybrid Theory 2.0' fans are triggered again i see. It's not their greatest album and if that's what you expected then you really don't get it.
I'm pretty sure ppl wanted to see how new LP sound will be with Emily. Instead they got collection of different eras of LP. The only ppl who are triggered are ones who can't stand some might consider it less than 8/10 album
Well, said. There's a lot of people who think Linkin Park is just the sounds of Hybrid Theory and Meteora when LP us so much more than that. There's a blend of genres for everyone. 😊
It’s not as bad as I thought it could’ve been, a few highlights, but I agree, it’s very there. The word I come to is toothless, both in content and production. Not saying I needed a “heavy” record, but at least one that could illicit more out of me than “that was fine.” I’m sure others will eat it up and I hope yall love it more than me.
I really admire your honesty. I happen to love the album but I appreciate you're not just saying you love it for views and Likes. "Cut The Bridge" is the only song I don't care for on the album. Mike wrote almost all the lyrics. And nobody knows what the lyrics are about. Mike said he's not really going to tell people what the songs are about so we can take whatever it means to us from the lyrics. Total respect for a truly honest review. Some people will be pissed at it but ignore them. Better to be honest than pander to the masses.
idk why and im probably wildly off base because i dont know shit, but her shorter screams sometimes remind me of Adam Gontier from his three days grace days
There are 3 broad categories in this album, stylistically. They cherry picked concepts from their entire discography. 1. Punk or Heavy Metal 2. Electronic Rock - Production 3. Rock Ballads / Cinematic It is evident that you took the punk approach. Anyone's top 3 can be guessed based on their stylistic approach. Just shows how cohesive this album is. I took the rock ballads / cinematic approach and my top 3 is - Good Things Go, Overflow, The Emptiness Machine #LPSoldier
Album was very, meh.. for me. 6/10 the first 2 singles, and two faced are the stand outs for me. It’s a good start, but don’t get me started on whatever tf over each other was 🤢 Anyway, maybe can we get some new Silverstein reactions? 😀 Confession is a beaut.
I think the issue is that they've said this is the next chapter of Linkin park & the first chapter started with 2 absolute masterpieces in Hybrid Theory & Meteora. It was fun but it's pretty middle of the road nothing spectacular. Also Two faced is 100% Figure.09 lol not two steps closer. Listen to both songs structure. It's exactly the same.
To me, I think they are playing it safe. Considering that this is supposed to be their comeback to making music with some new members, one of them being a new lead singer, that making an album that isn't complex in production, mix, and overall the process of making it like lyrics, instrumentals, etc. makes sense. In a way, this feels like this is their first album. So it would feel like that there should be more. I felt that way, too, but I actually enjoyed rhe album. With what the band went through and now, after a very long hiatus from making any new music since the passing of Chester Bennington, it makes sense, to me, that this album would be handled safe in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps in their next album they could go beyond once the entire band gets fully 100% comfortable. Maybe. To me, overall, I am merely happy that they are back to making music.
Really appreciate your honest review! I think the new album is absolutely fine and fun to listen to while driving, but overall it feels a bit too simple and not really special. It's like the band just wanted to have fun without reinventing itself. Which is all right, but it also makes some songs to be somewhat bland. It's more of a nostalgia trip rather than a 2024 (almost 2025) record.
LPs lyrics have always been vague and ambiguous and not deep though. People only appreciate the lyrics more now after Chester’s passing and are reading into them on a deeper level but it’s been said many times that they like to keep their lyrics vague because the band members all get different meanings out of it
Some songs have been kinda deep or atleast quite meaningful, like Numb, Points of authority, pushes me away, breaking the habit, Somewhere I belong but yeah most tracks are emo poetry
I love the album a lot we got an old skool type of album one more light was way too depressing it def was a suicide note most of it but I am so glad they are back
Well, I wasn't going to comment, but saying Overflow sounds like OML, that this album sounds like it has a lot of OML influence, and I just don't really hear it. Maybe a little? But definitely not much. Plus, Overflow sounds the most unique, and if it fits any past album, it fits ATS best. I also dont think Casualty fits the hunting party, and it's another type of song that LP hasn't done very much at all, hardcore punk. If anything, casualty fits better with the harder songs from ATS and LT like Blackout and especially Victimized. I guess we all have our opinions though
Also, about the lyrics, the main songwriter is and always has been Mike. It seems most of it was probably written before Emily even joined, and I find it just as good as it always has been. So yeah, still just my opinion though
I hear it throughout, it’s got a lot of the same pop sensibilities & song structures, even when the band is more involved a lot of it sounds at its most basic level & needing more going on. Causality is musically in the same vein of War off THP & tonally the riffs sound more like they do on that album than most others, but it didn’t do it for me like those older songs, still felt too short, a bit undercooked & he’s right that Emily’s screams aren’t dynamic at all & feel too one note. Mike did write most of this on his own, but even the lyrics needed more, especially after Post Traumatic had Mike’s most poignant lyrics, the LP album after that & their big comeback shouldn’t feel like it has less weight & depth than a solo Mike album. I’m left wanting more on all aspects & I know they can do waaay better than what they gave here
@@Mantrapolis Listening to War, yeah I do hear it with that one, but I still think that it sound more like Chester's part in Victimized more. I do feel like this album was too short and would have liked longer or more songs in general. I understand saying the screams don't feel very dynamic, I like it, but maybe it's still having to do with comparisons to Chester. We all know how amazing Chester was, and how raw and emotional his screams would feel, but I think Emily is great too after listening to her more, and she'll probably only get better. Also, I'm still in the opinion that Mike's lyrics are still good, just as good as previous albums. Personally, I really did enjoy this album, and it has a little bit of everything. I haven't really enjoyed a LP album as much as this since at least Living Things, The Hunting Party is probably my least favorite, but that's just my opinion.
@@FreddyChavez-h3i Part of it is comparing to Chester, most of us will do this even unintentionally, & I think it’s fair to compare, that’s how we set any type of standard, a major part of what made Chester amazing was that he really was a cut above most other male vocalists not just in their genre but across all of them. Nothing wrong at all with liking her screams, but my mind can’t help draw comparison to both Chester & a lot of the female screamers I listen too, & I’m left wanting more from her vocals. The lyrics are good, it’s rare that Mike misses, but again I’m left wanting more knowing his potential, I’ve cried from his words in the past but felt very little this time. I see the appeal more so with this than some of those other albums, it’s more hooky, more ear-catching with melodies that are simple to pick up. THP was different in that they draw things out more, have long instrumental passages where the band can just play, way more rock/riff oriented whereas this album feels hook oriented. It’s all just a matter of what you personally want from the band in the end & that’ll vary from fan to fan
I feel like they were on the right track mostly but the album feels like it's missing something. The vocals were a bit disappointing for me and they could have been more dynamic.
Come on Bogdan don't you know you can't say anything bad about Linkin Park? Lol Coming from a longtime fan, haven't really gotten into this new era of LP overall but to each its own.
Very mixed for me. Emptiness Machine, Heavy is the Crown, 2 Faced are dope. Cut the Bridge I definitely don’t like, over each other, stained are meh. Casualty not really my taste. Overflow, Good things go, igyeih I like a bit but wouldn’t seek out. So comes out to.. 1 song I dislike 2 that are meh 3 that I love 🔥🔥 4 that are fine but not big for me I’ll take the 3 haha B)
From Zero has that Mike Shinoda pop style after Post Traumatic, it's okay but it's very generic, Mike is a genius at everything except one thing, pop choruses, you can see it on Heavy, and that's the problem with the album, most of the songs have that generic pop style, even for me who has loved pop for so many years I see them like can be better, it's not the same with One More Light Album where the main genre was not pop but indie trap pop, being different things, I guess if an album like that was necessary it's fine but I hope in the future we have songs as unique as The Catalyst or A Line in the Sand, notice that I haven't even mentioned Meteora or Hybrid Theory.
First listening was disappointing, second was better, third was like "oh yeah this is good". Just like with the "emptiness machine" when I heard it first time.
I think it is an average to good album overall. I do think it is missing the emotion. It is a collection of songs, but I have come to expect to feel something from the songs of LP, at the moment, I don't feel it.... maybe I still miss Chester? But it is an ok album, apart from a couple of tracks, which I find skippable. I get the 'one tone' in Emilys vocals, I listened to loads of DEAD SARA and she can use her voice far better than in these tracks. As I say, there is little to no emotion, which is or was the heartbeat of LP, now sadly gone. 5/10
No one seems to be talking about how the last track has an interlude/musical that leads directly into the first track. That just makes it more fun for me.
Also great review/reaction!
It that wasn’t so common in other albums maybe it would be worth mentioning

As someone who started with Living Things, which is still one of my favourite albums of all time, I just love that the Album felt like a journey through all of their eras. They're not just giving us Hybrid Theory 2 because thats what people want, they're embracing all their work while still giving people what they want. Love everything about it!
I love the vibes it gives me, so much Hunting Party Influence (my favorite LP album) and I love how Mike is almost screaming in casualty
You might have a point if Mike didn’t prove he can still write deep songs with Post Traumatic being his most poignant lyrics, this didn’t need to be a super sad album but it needed more depth than it has
My Top 3 - That weren't released earlier.
1. Good Things Go
2.Cut The Bridge
3. Two Faced
actually Two Faced was released two days before the album 🤓
@@lazerunicorn7809 not early enough
I love High vocal in Good Things Go. I Love it!
I’m with you completely on this. Except I stopped enjoying them after minutes to midnight personally.
I love those three as well. Cut the bridge is actually on the lower end of my list
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Bogdan
so you are basically jsut a "heavy music" fan and not a LP fan?
@@Cryzeeeh I wouldn't say that. Just didn't resonate with me is all. No hate to their material afterwards Minutes to Midnight whatsoever.
@@DejaVuDarkmistid definitely recommend listening to 'the hunting party' if you like some of the heavier songs from this album
@@Agrosheep1 I'll have to circle back to it. Appreciate it
@@DejaVuDarkmistIf you liked Overflow at all, I highly recommend A Thousand Suns. At least Iridescent. Also Living Things is pretty good. Burn it Down is like Cut the Bridge but imo better. Cut the Bridge is growing on me fast though.
After the first listen I had the same reaction of yours. The more I listen to it, the more I like it.
8/10
one thing ive always liked about your content and brad taste's is that you guys are 100% honest in every reaction
both of you were mixed on this album, and weren't afraid to hide it like most other reactors.
Love this album. Fun, varied, orchestral. Just great.
Her screams do need a lot of work tho
Great album. I love how it feels like a love letter to all of their different sounds throughout the years
Honestly would love to hear your thoughts on Poppy’s new album - I was blown tf away, absolute contender for AoTY for me I can’t quite explain it
Same. Both the pop and metal tracks are so well done. I can’t believe how heavy she went on this record lol
Thank you for your honest opinion and continuing to upload! I always look forward to your reaction.
I think they did it on purpose and will continue to do it, since they didn't like people pigeonholing them as just nu metal when they considered themselves an experimental band.
yeah I’m in a similar boat as you on this album sadly, two faced is the only one that’s sticking w me
I feel like the biggest disconnect is that even when I try no to, I cant help but compare it to what came before.
And some songs will grow on people with time - even some meteora and hybrid theory tracks just got popular at later stages
i think her voice fits mike's so good
Cut the Bridge has strong MTM vibes, no idea where you got One More Light sound from
I was thinking the same thing, is like a tribute to Bleed it out.
Have checked out a couple of his reaction vids and think he really really embellishes his LP fandom
yea tbf i did call out bleed it out resemblance later on
To me, it sounded a lot like Hollywood Undead
Right. And Overflow has the ATS vibe, not OML imo
Honestly I thought they would have done a Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here type of album in honor of Chester or at least dedicate a song too him
I've listened to LP all my life and this felt like coming home. Even if the feeling aren't all there at the surface, that emotion of seeing a familiar face with a warm meal on the table never stops being awesome lol.
Yeah…it’s not bad and I’m appreciative of this album but it’s not hitting the spots I want it to. Poppy’s new album has been on repeat all day though
If there's one takeaway from this album, Emilly likes Hunting Party
I've been trying to understand my thougths on this album better, and you pretty much described exactly what I'm thinking/feeling.
The Emptiness Machine I love musically and lyrically, and really connect with it, the other songs not so much, some are fun, some to me are not as fun.
The deepness the band's music usually has doesn't seem to be around much, or at least not delivered in a way it really cuts deep.
Done 5 listens through and it’s grown on me a bit don’t really love it don’t really hate it, happy about new music to throw into the mix :)
"A little bit of this a little bit of that" Ahh album😭🙏
KASKSJSSK
@ The critics in question are primarily fans of the band, ironically.
I just really can't vibe with the mix. The guitar is so thin. Even on Casualty, it didn't hit very hard.
Same for me, tbh. The first two singles were all right everything else is forgettable.
Exactly how I feel, such a waste of potential
See you in 2 years 😂 look at every linkin park album in the past, 2-3 instand bangers or songs where you feel like „yeah, nice“ and the rest grows. This album in particular feels like a bit of every episode they had in the past and new influences. And ill bet, that some songs will grow on you - as it did with all the albums in the past 😄 even meteora and hybrid theory (the teo album everyone refers to) had songs that got the right recognition just after years
@@St4nger bruh chill out, maybe you’re oblivious to how generic & basic this was compared to their best stuff, but we’re not
@@ionznz8540 yeah Mozart, see you in 2 years 🫡
I think it’s going to take a few albums for them to figure it out.
I agree. I believe they played it safe. It’s short too.
I’m still excited and glad they’re back.
I feel like they tried to use only her voice to make songs hit harder when they also needed instrumentals to hit harder with her. And so it made the songs seem less energetic and sounding more the same with each one. But in saying that I’m sure they wanted to showcase her voice with being new to the band.
I think it would’ve had a bit more impact if they reserved some of the singles for the album, like the last one for example.
I have a feeling that we're gonna get new albums fairly faster now maybe every 1-2 years considering how good of a song writer mike is he can definitely pump out albums faster than other artists that depend on third party writers
I heard some ppl say this is their best album of all time and Emily is better than Chester? Don’t know if the band is paying people to say this but yeah…
might be new fans?
@ probably. Someone said good things go is the best lp song ever. Like bro…
LP has a style, a song, and an album for everyone's tastes. That's the beauty of the band. People who think LP should sound only one way are ignorant.
Yeah that makes no sense at all, a lot of fans let their recency bias & excitement do all the talking 😂
I think for me at least, 3/4 of the singles were very good and got my expectations higher. Didn’t get much out of any of the new content we got on release
Half great, half cringe. Still like it, but they need to chase that Two Face sound.
Man we need a comp of bogdan singing 😂😂
this is totally unrelated, but your accent is so nice and i love the way it hits my ear. it’s like ASMR.
can i ask where you are from because this accent is really doing something for me 😂
@@wifeunderthesea much love
First album for her. give them time. im sure they didnt want to go crazy. see how fans react to the music.
The 'i just want them to make Hybrid Theory 2.0' fans are triggered again i see. It's not their greatest album and if that's what you expected then you really don't get it.
Or it’s just not a good record in general
Anyone who doesn't like something you like is automatically "triggered" that's so cute
LP album just underlines how great new Poppy album is.

The New Poppy blows new LP out of the water and it's not even close
@@25StevyLovesDaddyTatait blows new BMTH out of the water too
New Poppy album is banned in several territories for annihilating too hard.
I think the slower songs are way better than the "heavier" songs. I had very low expectations, so I'm overall pretty positive about the album.
There are 3 broad categories in this album, stylistically. They cherry picked concepts from their entire discography.
1. Punk or Heavy Metal
2. Electronic Rock - Production
3. Rock Ballads / Cinematic
It is evident that you took the punk approach. Anyone's top 3 can be guessed based on their stylistic approach. Just shows how cohesive this album is.
I took the rock ballads / cinematic approach and my top 3 is - Good Things Go, Overflow, The Emptiness Machine
#LPSoldier
Honestly this feels like cookie cutter rock , rushed and bland and boring apart from 1 or 2 songs. I'm shocked people don't feel this way.
I think they had to wait to release two faced. A little bit less hype then that
The issue I found in the whole record is that the drums leads with the hi hat the most of the songs. Im like 'dude you got more cymbals'
yup, it’s like their drum signature but sometimes kinda got bored to listen to hi hat over and over again
This album was such a let down and ultimately forgettable. The only hope on this album is Two Faced. That song at least sounds like LP
Yo! I got an album a friend made that you should check out! Its called “The Last Chapter” By empyrean VII, its instrumental but its really good!
@Mantrapolis Yeah, I totally get ya there. I still think Mike's rhythm and flow is great in this album, and I especially loved him in Good Things Go.
There's only 4 songs worth listening to. And honestly only 2 songs worth coming back to
I feel like they were on the right track mostly but the album feels like it's missing something. The vocals were a bit disappointing for me and they could have been more dynamic.
Come on Bogdan don't you know you can't say anything bad about Linkin Park? Lol Coming from a longtime fan, haven't really gotten into this new era of LP overall but to each its own.
Two Faced is definitely my favorite track. I think it has the strongest chorus in the entire album. Her voice does get quite repetitive I will admit.
1 song I dislike
2 that are meh
3 that I love 🔥🔥
4 that are fine but not big for me
I’ll take the 3 haha B)
Im the same. I dont think the rest of the album has anything good to it. The singoes are great, but the rest is meh to me.
I think people have been listening to so much heavier stuff since One More Light that hearing Drop D riffs with rap kinda doesnt work anymore lol
From Zero has that Mike Shinoda pop style after Post Traumatic, it's okay but it's very generic, Mike is a genius at everything except one thing, pop choruses, you can see it on Heavy, and that's the problem with the album, most of the songs have that generic pop style, even for me who has loved pop for so many years I see them like can be better, it's not the same with One More Light Album where the main genre was not pop but indie trap pop, being different things, I guess if an album like that was necessary it's fine but I hope in the future we have songs as unique as The Catalyst or A Line in the Sand, notice that I haven't even mentioned Meteora or Hybrid Theory.
not a bad album, just ok-meh, but definitely not at the level of the expectations...
8/10 good album
I can only hear the singing and the drums, nothing of the rest, i didnt like the mix
First listening was disappointing, second was better, third was like "oh yeah this is good". Just like with the "emptiness machine" when I heard it first time.
Opposite for me, the tracks sound less interesting the more I hear them
Agreed. A few great tracks but the album overall is super mid.
Negative Spaces by Poppy is the best album released last Friday!
Poppy’s album craps on this tbh
please react to the poppy album, it's top tier!!
100% my view, too generic, too safe, too radio friendly.. missed opportunity.
