The story of Grama devatha panjurli showed in the movie: There were five infants of wild boar in which one was separated from rest of them. Goddess Parvathi observe this piglet and finds it pretty. She takes that separated male piglet along with her to Kailasa. She began looking after this piglet. This piglet started growing and started developing teeth. Boar started destroying crops because of itchiness and irritation on its teeth. Lord Shiva gets angry and was about to kill boar. Goddess Parvathi stops instantly from doing so. Lord Shiva ordered the boar to no long stay in Kailasa and cursed him to go to earth as divine spirit to protect people from evils".

Ajeet sir , one correction: at the end right, the divine spirit comes to his body is not Varaha, it is kshethra palaka “Guliga” with black colour..That’s because in the beginning when offering land in exchange to varaha god, the divine spirit says “ along with me, land protector Guliga too will be accompanied, if you commit any sin or do injustice, then even if I may forgive , Guliga will not spare you ..”

Watched this movie yesterday in Jamshedpur, jharkhand.. Outstanding movie. In rural jharkhand Manda puja is celebrated in the same manner and Lord Shiva is worshiped and Bihu dance is performed.

I was a child back in 1989. I belong to Garhwal where we have divine stories amd folklore in the hills and valleys like kantara. Even as a 6 year old I found "Ram Teri Ganga Maili" revolting. I just cundnt see my reality in that film. 30 years later I understood the ugly agenda of Urduwood
