It's a shame those hats are extinct... I absolutely love the elegant curves and how they elevate the silhouette 🖤
You can still buy them - old or new. Old silk top hats are expensive, modern ones are cheaper and not silk. I have five top hats, all wool felt and less formal, but totally worth it - you feel amazing wearing one. I can definitely recommend giving it a go.
@@samwiseman150 i think he meant the silk ones specifically
@@DJHASDIMONDS Oh 🤭😁
I agree! They’re so beautiful too
Wonderful video, it's strange to see that white had more varieties than to what we're acostumed to, I always thought that only a white waistcoat was wearable with white tie, good to see that there are more options. Anyway, keep up with the good work. 😁
Another banger, from the man the myth. Thanks for the upload, King.
i was lucky enough to pick up a pair of tailcoats for my friend and i for £20 and I cannot stress enough how much ive fallen in love with the white tie ensemble
You look so handsome and put together!
Stunning. The epitome of elegance.
I wish people still wore white tie!
Love your work. Wish we could hear from you more often.
Well done - I have missed you regular uploads. Nice to see you producing content again.
Marvelous! All that's required is an invitation to a white tie event. Sadly, those seem non-existent these days. A few years back went to the Salzburger Festpiele, but I can assure you, the formality of dress couldn't even compare. Formality is dead. Everything sounds more final and definitive in German...Die Formalität ist tot.
You are always very handsome, chic, entertaining and informative! I'm a big fan of yours!
That cummerbund gave me "turban" vibes for the headpiece - perhaps a bit "Raj" for your normally sleek look!
Wonderful video. Such elegance and poise. Shame it isn't a thing anymore really. Thanks for sharing Niklas.
3:44 You can wear any hat you like, as long as it's black. And a top hat. I really do wish I could get together a frock coat and an opera hat 4:02 for my trip to see _Furiosa_ .
I unfortunately dont have a top because there all so expensive unfortunately so could a gentleman go out with out one (also great video and i would love if there was a video on black tie and dinner jackets next)
Were i am from the wing collar is known as a ' vadermoordenaar', wich translates to father killer.
In German as well "Vatermörder"
Fadermördare in Swedish.
Now only if there was someplace worthy of such dress... Btw, very nice!
What! No silver topped cane?
If I ever left my house
Without my cane
Oh it would be something I could
Never explain.
Oh the thing that makes me click
On lovers lane
Would go for nought
If I were caught
Without my cane.😊
new intro!
I bought a tailcoat with matching black waistcoat and trousers with no galon. I'm assuming it was a servants outfit because of this.
Looking impeccable! Do you have any recommended places where I can purchase stiff front shirts/collars? I'm thinking about having a vintage-inspired tuxedo made, so a tuxedo with a stiff shirt, black bow tie and white tie waistcoat.
You could try Darcy Clothing, they produce stiff front shirts and collars.
I have always wondered, could you wear a tailcoat with a boater hat during the sommer?
Boaters are semi formal, so no tailcoats. But you could wear it with a dinner jacket.
Could you wear a boater with morning wear in the summer (or maybe a Streismann suit)
Maybe Stresemann/stroller suit as it is also considered semi formal. Please don't wear it with morning dress. 😬
hello i gave a question. Where to shop for vintage/antique Menswear in london?
White silk stockings?
Ok you got 1890 black tie
Hey buddy! Are Mirror Shined Plain Oxfords good enough for White Tie? Or do they need to be Patent Leather?
Imho they are good enough for black tie, but not enough for white tie.
Oh wow, that hat simply vanished
What ist with a Frock Coat insted of a Tail Coat?
Frock coats are daywear. Tailcoats are eveningwear.
@@Vintagebursche ahh thanks
Wie oft wird heutzutage noch White Tie getragen außer der Wiener Opernball z.b.?
I am shocked (and appalled, frankly...) that you very nonchalantly ignored one of THE most important accessories, even though you were prominently sporting it through much of the video. No White Tie is EVER complete without a clip-on microphone, preferably of the fluffy variety. 😆
🇩🇴🫶🏻😇
can ethnic ppl wear this drip?
Why couldn't they?
sure but out of pure curiosity what does ethnic mean?
There's nothing preventing them from wearing this 'drip".
What's "ethnic" ?
Why not - everyone should enjoy all cultures' outfits (respectfully, of course).
I find it interesting how you love to wear historical men's wear yet you stay 'current' with your need for body tattoos. Just saying.... But then again there's also another aspect of you, when you are not afraid to play the fool and do your short comedic sketches. You do look great in your historical clothes. And it takes guts to wear them in today's western societies where far too many people look like they get all of their mismatched wardrobe of leisure wear from Walmart.
