So true! Now I want scapple it sounds amazing. I already have scrivener and I don't wanna go back to word. It was frustrating to work on anything scroll up and down for minutes.
A standing desk is great for a writer's back and overall health. I have a very simple one that just sits on top of my regular desk. It holds a laptop (though I flip it backwards so I can write with paper on a clipboard). There's more elaborate ones, but my bare bones standing desk allows me to easily take it outside so I can stand while writing at the table on our deck out back.
I tried out Scrivener thanks to your recommendation and LOVE it. I love how it’s separate from everything else on my laptop and doesn’t slow down even when you’re at a higher number of words like google docs. And I can organize everything in there, or just do the actual writing and keep my character and world details in another place. The whole program sets me in writing mode as soon as I open it. Def recommend! Another thing I recommend if you have a treadmill: a desk for it. There’s just the small ones that attach to the handles and it’s AMAZING if you want to take a walk while writing :)
Thank you so much for the mini review of the Freewrite Traveler. I've been looking at it for a few weeks. The Echo pen sounds amazing too! And the writing retreat...I wish.
Gratitude for sharing & starting the conversation Alexa. I have been calling our times, “social quarantine” (it even has been filtered into my autocorrect) I use scrapple. In addition to what you noted, it is a great tool for character plot embryos.
I have a little blue laptop I bought that's a bit bigger than the one you use that I got on sale from Best Buy for $200. I think the writing to digital file is really cool. Especially if you like to sketch characters or something.
You should purchase a Rocket book. It’s kind of like the pen baller gift just cheaper. It’s basically a reusable notebook that scans whatever you write about and saves it.
While I really want a freewrite, my little Neo2 has been indispensable, especially during NaNo. It's a lot cheaper, though a little harder to find as it is old tech, but it does basically the same thing, you just need to connect it to your laptop/computer to transfer your writing instead of it syncing with Google drive.
Rogets international thesaurus. A thesaurus that has ALL the words arranged in the front by subject and alphabetically in the back, cross referenced by a number system. So you can look up that word that doesn’t quite seem to work and it’ll direct you to the section of other similar or more accurate words (because the dictionary style thesauruses suck). Ear protection earmuff/headphones and earplugs/earbuds. When your world is noisy or you just want to tune it all out. Hardware stores or hunting/camping supply shops. You can even wear earbuds instead if you write with music. Some stores sell little keychain tubes for carrying around a pair of foam earplugs.
*takes notes for Christmas and Birthday list* Candles *good, good, my favorite will be gone in about a week at this rate, must replenish, Scrivener Already have it, love it, use it, .... Campfire... I want it..."
Can u please help me. I'm writing a romance novel. I want to publish it in USA but I am from India how can I and how much money it can take to publish there
My brother and I are both writers, but he’s that “drafting a manuscript by hand” kind of writer. I may look into that pen for him, but first I’ll have to suss out what about handwriting that he likes, just in case having it go to digital would ruin the experience for him
Gift ideas for myself. Thanks, Alexa
EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT 😂😂😂

My birthday gift from my partner was a new writing buddy. A puppy!
"I'd really like to go outside" I still feel the pangs of this three and a half years later.
