Just droppin some knowledge from Texassaltwaterfishingmagazine:
The number of eggs released is a function of body weight. Trout of 12 to 13 inches are capable of releasing 100K eggs per spawning event. Trout of 20 inches and larger can release up to 1M. During four or five days of spawning, larger females can release up to 10M eggs. Another good reason to release fish larger than 20 inches!

100% release over 20". If people want to be fishing for specks in the future, they better get on board with that.
Yep. In Matagorda, TP&W changed our limit from 15" to 17" because of the freeze. I end up releasing 15" males and keeping spawning females. It makes no sense to me. Fortunately, we go back to 15" next month.

A 27" Speck, WOW ! That is a fish you don't see everyday. All the structure in that are attracts the fish; especially great place for Flounder.

guys looks like fun. When I fish there by myself I hang over an umbrella net an lift the fish in then lay my pole down and haul
it up. I landed some monster sheep and snappers there. Too bad most people only fish that spot in the fall, they are missing
out, water is deep, has structure, a few shallow slopes, just ideal during the falling tide.

Yo what spot is this I went there before and caught some trout and I’m trying to go again but I forgot where it is, can you tel me ?
Suggestion to yal when fishing for big around structures like that it might help you use that live shrimp fly line but with a very small split shot under a float the split has to be real small that might help yal in situations like that .

For August im not sure but your best bets are spots like the piers or jetties. Seawolf park might be good. You will probably catch more trout

😂 y'all about to BLOW up that spot like flounder season. Last year, they had a great 🧱 wall military taking turns and shifts guarding it. My fishing buddy, Dan, who I met there, told me he witnessed one guy leave then another take his place 24/7. Crazy! SUPER 🆒 catch tho! 💪🐟🎣 Eventually, my buddy Thai told me Game Warden started showing up and ticketed guys keeping undersized. 🫡📏
