P5 Royal is my fav but its a very close match if that makes any sense. Am also quite the fan of the various spinoffs. As for what I like about the series? The mix of slice of life and heavy character focused stuff alongside the dark, symbolism heavy fantastical stuff. Also that fantastic music (often with even better lyrics) and those lovely visuals
31:08 from the original persona 4 to the original p5, 8 years passed, p5 was announced to release in 2014, but got dalayed to 2016 in japan, came out in 2017 in the west, so, its been 8 years since the og p5 came out, but it still feels we are years away from P6
Just to clarify, these are just openings to games that still exist. Some are lost media and there are anime adaptations they left out, including a non canon sequel to P3 set a decade later and if you want to count it, a trailer to a canceled P2 anime. Potentially you can use this to start reactions to other Megami Tensei products as Persona is a spinoff/gateway series. Devil Survivor is a fan favorite thar has a few bangers with art done by the guy behind the Durarara anime and most Digimon games since 2012. Digital Devil Saga is another fan favorite and I find myself humming the english theme to the fist game to on occasion. There's also Devil Summoner which takes place in the same timeline as Persona, with the live action show even having the P1 protagonist appear midway through season 2. There's also the mainline franchise Megami Tensei and it's reboot Shin Megami Tensei but besides some creepy clock tower sounds and religious chanting you might opt for the fight soundtrack instead which tends to have heavy rock with some religious chanting or techno beats for some bosses.
I said it's sequel is. Persona Trinity Soul. Had a whole new cast and had Akihiko appear but no longer with a Persona because he's now an adult, which contradicts P2 and then P4 which came out after.@@critical_6164
I guess I wasn't clear. I was referring to Persona Trinity Soul, the first Persona anime and a sequel to P3, released before P4. P3 didn't get a proper anime adaptation until after P5. The main reason it's not canon is it's contradictory information, where Akihiko says that he can no longer use a Persona since he's now an adult and adults need medication to maintain that power, explaining why Ryo can still use Cain. However this contradicts P2 which had about half a dozen adult Persona users throughout the duology some being part of the P1 cast.@@critical_6164
@@critical_6164it was released after p3p on psp but after released a couple months later in 2009 p4 comes out and ditch Trinity soul because the story is not fitting
23:24 both P2 inocent sin and its sequel P2 Eternal pubishment are great games, basically, in the first one, wide spread rumors in Sumaru city are becoming reality, whi h brings chaos, so the team needs to investigate why that's happening and spread some rumors of their own to progress through the game , P2EP ia a sequel to that, and the only persona game where the team is all adults, with some characters from P1 appearing too
Persona 2 Duology (Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment) is easily the best written cast and story in all of Persona. It's no contest and hasn't been topped. Its main gimmick is rumors changing reality, for everyone involved. Deals with pretty heavy trauma related topics, conspiracy, etc. and goes out of control pretty quickly. Both games combined are needed for the full impact of how strong it is as an experience. Gameplay wise a lot of people are going to find it outdated tho since it's largely the older smt system with a few of its own things. Modern Persona gameplay started with 3. A remake of it modernizing things somewhat would be nice but not sure how it would work
I honestly think that 2’s gameplay is not dated at all I think it’s pretty good!!! If it was for me, the only thing I would change for a remake would be to lower the rate of the encounters like the PS1 version
@@jayroro7053I mean, Joker is the most well-known of the protagonists and 5 is the most popular out of all the games. A lot of people recognize Joker even if they've never played Persona. Persona 6 is a couple years off for sure. The Persona team is currently working on the remake of P3 and a new IP called Metaphor: ReFantazio. The last I heard it is supposed to come out towards the end of this year. I don't think there has been any official news on P6 yet. Lets hope for an announcement this year or the next.
Yo, I'm loving persona at the minute. I've just gotten into it a couple of weeks ago with Persona 5 strikers. It's a really fun game and I'm looking forward to playing the others as soon as I finish strikers
Teddie/Kuma IS a lot like Morgana actually. And yeah he has a human form. Won't say any more than that for fear of dropping spoilers. Never played Persona 1 or the Persona 2 myself but I've heard very good things about the later. Also should mention that there are two P2 games: Innocent Sin and its sequel Eternal Punishment which is part of why there were so many P2 openings. The Chibis aren't remakes but spinoffs actually~ The Persona Q games are basically Persona crossovers where the casts of P3 and P4 (and in Q2 P3, P4 and P5) all end up in a place out of time and have to work together to get out. A bit lighter than the main entries in the series most but still really fun and they have surprisingly solid plots and OSTs too
Persona 2 Duology def my favorite Persona game out of the entire series but 3 is close to it. Persona 2 Eternal Punishment easily has the best Dungeons and Story with the best end after 3
the reason p5 tactica was in a chibi style was because it would be hard to see them a bit if they were full sized and you need to see them to attack and for pQ and pQ2 was chibi is because they released on the 3ds and full sized models probably wouldn't have worked
32:52 i do, but not yet, even though its been 12 years so far since p4 golden, consider og p3 came out in 2006, so 18 years passed between that and Reload, if a P4 remake comes out, there might be a a gap of time similat to og p3 to P3R
Persona as people mentioned is the little brother to SMT. SMT is really fun, but since P3 ( Persona 3 ) they added a slice of life element to the battling evil gameplay. So you'd hang with friends or raise social stats before fighting something else. Each game has its own themes. Persona 3 / portable / fes / reload - Fighting against the inevitable, like death or predestined fate. Persona 4 / Golden - Accepting the truth, no matter how ugly or hurtful it may be. Persona 5 / Royal - Standing up against the unjust society/adults. There are plenty of spinoffs but you do not need to play them, nor do you have to play Persona in order. You only miss out on subtle references and jokes. There are animes for 4, Golden and 5. And 3 has four movies for each season that the game takes place in. Even if you do not end up playing them, at least you can search through the soundtracks and find some great songs!

Can persona 4 get a reload treatment? Yes it can! Does it need it? Many of us wouldnt say no but it doesnt need one. Persona 4 golden still holds up to this day (even if people have mixed views on some of the things added in as extra content... including you know who) and persona 3 was in need of a face lift to make the originals playable to todays P4 and P5 standards (Better control of team mates ect.). Where persona 4 shares a lot of the aspects that persona 5 plays off, it does not require a rebuild of the game unless for some reason they wanted to make the dungeons more like persona 5 which is unlikely as you are no longer playing persona 4 Would like to add that also, I know P3P is a thing, BUT the port over to pc and modern consoles was not handles to well. Hope you all have an amazing day and if you have p3r ready to go for the 2nd then I hope you all get lost in a fantastic story
Persona 3 still needs another remake cause the one we got sucks. The only reason people wanted a 3 remake was to have a definitive version of the game and reload isn't it.
Personally I would recommend fes over any other version of 3, but the fact people are still arguing about which version of 3 is the best shows how terrible reload really is. Plus reload legitimately looks worse than the ps2 game in alot of ways, as well as the worse music and missing features from both the original and fes, not even mentioning portable.
