    thank you for sharing this video! i thought i had an electrical problem, but it was the same as yours, rusted together. I cannot break the nut free at my house, so i'm bringing it down to the shop in the morning. when it goes back together, i am putting a nylon washer between the shaft collar and the lead screw nut to make sure this does not happen again

      overall, quite disappointed in the lack of waterproofness on this unit. how can you design and sell a jack like this knowing it will fill with water and potentially rust itself together. the shop was able to loosen the lead screw nut on my assembly, so i can put it back together today. I am going with marine grease in the whole thing knowing the water will be back. if if have troubles with this in the future, i will definitely replace it with a Barker Manufacturing unit.

      I like the nylon washer idea, I just used grease and never left my jack all the way up.

    Perfect! Exact thing happened to my jack. Was filled with water and kind of locked tight. Also had to put it in a vice to free. Thanks for posting. You helped a poor lost Rv soul!

    I'm A tec for Uriah products, the jackks will get stuck in the up poosition if you don't let off the button,most jacks do not have stoping switches in them. it can take up to 80 pounds of torque to break the acme screw free. thanks Andrew

    I had a similar issue. I don't have an impact wrench and could not get the jack to budge with a breaker bar. I took the jack apart, grabbed a punch and punched out the pin that holds the lifting mechanism in place. Once the pin was out I backed off the nut and put it all back together. It is working fine now. From now on I will lift the jack to the top then lower it just a smidge so I know it is not bound up.

    Nice video. I like to have a bit of tape on the jack leg as a marker, so I can stop retracting just before the jack would smack into the end of travel. I also found the switches aren’t very water proof and if there was a hard rain followed by overnight freeze they wouldn’t work until thawed. One of those covers is worth having.

    I came across your Video as I had my Lippert Jack lock up on me today and I was looking for possible solutions.
    As I watched you video, and the fact once you pulled it apart it was "fully extended", one thing that may have contributed to your situation, was the torque of the jack raising up to the very top, and then just like tightening a nut and bolt, it cinched up super tight between the momentum of the moving motion and the weight of the trailer. Then as you went to tr and lower, no way the low torque motor starting from a dead stand still could budge it and then as you noted you really had to apply force t get it to break loose. Rust could have played a roll, yet 4 days to rust up that tight would be an exception. One thing I have started doing is using more blocks under the Tongue Jack so it does not have to travel as far and for sure try not to let it fully extend.
    Very surprised an impact wrench did not break it free, yet if we work on things long enough, we will see more things we never would have expected.
    So glad you posted in case I ever need to go that deep into move I have an idea what to expect and really glad found and resolved your issue.
    Fixing things yourself seems to be a dying sport and always glad to see others digging in and figuring it out vs just taking it to a shop and paying crazy $$s for someone else to turn some wrenches. At times it is the only option yet often a little time and patience will prevail.

    P.S My issue was a connector on the switch that was not tight.
    Easy enough fix once I got into it! I did learn the Cordless drill I keep in my Travel Trailer to use as an override with an adapter will not move the Tongue Jack.

      yes, but how do you get the inner and outer sleeves for this jack. I found the replacement screw, but not the 2 sleeves.

      Sorry, I can't help you with that. I was able to reassemble mine without replacing any parts.

    Never run these to the end of its travel and leave it there, it binds up and will never develop the torque to free itself. If you do run to the end of the travel, back it off a bit so it’s not torqued at full stop.

    Any idea on how to lubricate these Jacks without taking them apart? Just for annual maintenance purposes

    I never Max mine out I carry wood with me so I can make the gap difference. Thanx for video....l like using white lube it’s better grease

    I am attempting to fix this issue myself. I cannot seem to get the large screw “that you show in this video” out of the “tube” in order to break the nut free. Can you explain how to do this?

      I'm trying to remember, We traded our pull camper for a class A motorhome so I can't go out and look. If I recall you must remove the foot section and the bottom of the jack from underneath I believe. The part of the jack in the video is the top and if I remember it pulls up and out. I'm sorry I can't do better it's been a couple of years ago. If you send me pictures of the top and bottom of the jack I might be able to help. katskamperblog@gmail.com
