It's interesting that everything you don't like about the EC9s are the very things that I actually do like. I like the trigger, I like the looks and the grip. I honestly have no complaints at all.

    • @bulletbasics

That actually seems to be a common held belief of many people that own the EC9s. I guess it just proves the old cliche right of "one man's trash is another man's treasure". Though I definitely wouldn't consider the EC9s trash, the principle is true.

The EC9s is definitely not for gun snobs. It is a good concealed carry gun. For sure.

I have a LC9S Pro and it's got a light trigger. I'm not sure if Ruger put more weight to the triggers or not. Practice, practice, practice, shoot it like a Kahr or a revolver, you'll get it.

The EC 9S is my daily carry. And I absolutely love the classic lines. And after putting about 1000 rounds through it it has had no issues. I finally decided to clean it and it literally took me less than 10 minutes. It’s a fantastic handgun and I am actually thinking about picking up another one just for the hell of it.

I understand that you're simply offering your opinion, but too many people are critical of this pistol as a range/target pistol, which is not its intended use. This pistol is for deep concealment/truck gun/back up/budget carry/and the like. It's reliable and does what It's intended to do perfectly.

Love this gun. I used to have the original LC9 hammer fire version with the infamous extremely long trigger pull. This one is more improved. No issues, no failures, especially for the price point and Ruger's warranty and customer service, that it's excellent.

  • @blendzol

It's a great CC pistol. Shot hundreds of rounds through it with absolutely no malfunctions. Accurate and the best no imprint carry 9mm. They could've priced this gun for a lot more like the Savage Stance which is now down to almost $300 from $400+. In a bad situation at about 15 yards, you will be able to neutralize the problem real quick. With a zero-carry holster, this gun is almost unnoticeable not only to everyone else but especially if you carry a spare tire. It's comfortable and fits perfectly at the 3 and 4 o'clock position for me. Everyone has their opinion about all these CC pistols on youtube. I don't trust any opinion except my own. Go to the range, rent one and see for yourself.

I'm on my 2nd EC9s, I traded my first one for a Taurus revolver, I wish I hadn't. I've had S&W, Taurus, Glock, Ruger. They each had/have their own good and bad. But the Ruger never let me down with misfires or anything else. It felt like the best overall choice. So I'll stay with this one, and I have an LCP as a back up, which also has never let me down with any issues. So, depending on the outfit of the day, it will determine which one I conceal carry. But I'm staying with Ruger.

I also added a Hogue grip and put red nail polish on the front sight after paying $199 for this gun earlier this year. Other than the annoying magazine disconnect, I cannot imagine a better EDC 9mm at this price point.

    • @NoogaMarc

Bullet Basics I actually picked it up this past February before the pandemic created a run on guns and ammo. I have put about 100 rounds through it since then with zero issues shooting premium brass FMJ, cheap steel case FMJ and Hydra -Shock JHP ammo. It is not my preferred range gun as the size/weight make it a little snappy, but it is surprisingly accurate at 10 yards even with the milled sights and short sight radius. The best part is its versatility as it fits comfortably in a Kydex IWB holster and in a Desantis pocket holster with minimal printing. At $199, this is my leave in the car firearm when I am unable to carry it.

Galloway precision makes a trigger called the aegis. This trigger makes a world of difference with the pull length and reset. Highly recommended if you are competent with disassembly enough to get the trigger out. Also recommend the hogue grip for the grip thickness problem. I have both on mine and carry eveyday. Have shot many times since upgrading the trigger with no reliability issues. This is a great gun for what its meant for. You will forget that you're carrying if you're not careful.

I'm happy with my ecs9, but i did get carried away. I went with the rouge beaver tail grip, which completely changes the feel. Very comforatble to hold. Added a lasermax centerfire laser with light and gripsense. To increase practicallity for a wider range of scenerios, atleast in my mind lol. Also got the aegis short stroke trigger which also eliminated the magazine disconnect saftey. Just get it, no need to thank me. The only iwb holster i have found to fit the lasermax was the crossbreed freedom carry and it seems fine but its still being broke in. It fits the gun well and is comfortable as an appendix carry for a skinny fellow like myself. I also ordered a new back plate with the punisher skull and an aluminum extended mag floor plate with my intials laser engraved. Like i said, defiantly carried away, modified and customized to suit me. Its my daily carry so i figured i might want to dress it up since its the firearm my peers are most likely to see

Reliability is more important than ergos and absolute accuracy in a small concealed pistol!!! You can live with it not being the most comfortable to shoot, you can live with the fact that it isn't shooting 1 inch groups at 10 yards, but you CANNOT live with it ever going click instead of bang, nor can you live with it being ammo picky!!! You need to be able to run everything available on any shelf at 100 percent!!! Both of these pistols should do that just fine!!!

I think people have come to expect a whole lot out of budget pistols. I think the ec9s trigger is good, but recoil catches you by surprise, but these guns are just designed to grab you a reliable carry gun for 239.

The Ec9s is accurate and reliable a very capable pistol. I added a hogue grip sleeve, I put magguts in 2 magazines making them 8+1, and I painted the sights with glow on. This gives you a comfortable grip, extra rounds and the capability of night shooting when you "charge" your sights with a flashlight. These additions seem to address the bulk of your dislikes about this pistol while enhancing its versatility and effectiveness.

But I said this will work but might be a snappy gun . But of course these aren't meant to be range guns but emergency self defense and Ruger does make guns that are reliable even being snappy course my Hellcat is snappy too.

The predecessor, LC9S Pro was so much better and of the best subcompact single stacks ever including the Glock 43. It had an adjustable 3 dot sight and optional pinky extension 7+1 or 9+1 mag option. Unfortunately, the prices got up to over $400 and Ruger needed a less expensive option. ALL 9mm single stack ultracompacts are going to be snappy and that’s why you might want to go with a .380 My preference is the Glock 42 with the Vicker’s Tactical +2 add on kit. The 42 is now my EDC of choice since it is so light with 8+1, accurate with low recoil. With Hornaday Critical Defense I have no concerns about defensive “stopping ability.”

You either have a heavy gun or have a lot of recoil! Most would put up with the recoil because they carry more than they shoot! You can't have everything I picked this gun for its size and weight!!!!!!!!
