    Great save on a nice piece of equipment. Somebody paid a good amount of money for that new and now it lives again. Excellent content as always Tom.

    Good save Tom, people around here wonder why I don't like our local small engine shops.
    I have them to thank for getting me started fixing stuff 35 years ago. 🤣👍

    Toooom Doooobyyyy! Nice work, Tom! Sounds to me like the other shop was either too busy or just didn't know what they were talking about. Maybe just plain lazy.
    Thanks for another informative video! Have a great day! God bless.

    My problem with those
    I get $50 per hour
    So you’re looking at $85 with a carburetor and tax
    Not a bad price but I’ve had people say I could have bought a new one for that

    • @louroberts5567
      @louroberts5567 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ha! If they can buy a NEW one for that price, it's probably stolen. Morons.

    I don't get it , That's a great running line trimmer. If I were the customer I would have asked for all my parts back from the shop that said it was no good. Great job Tom as usual. Catch you on your next video , Take care

    Guess what I made yesterday, a mighty vac, pressure/vaccume spark plug with the rubber o-ring, and drilled out sparkplug boot tip, haven't done one of those in years, I did the Champion RC12YC spark plug for tractors, I have a small one for 2 cycles, and the LM for 3to7hp engines.... Thanks for reminding me.

    Hi Tom, I am working on 2 weedeater at the moment . I was just going ask the sizes of the smaller and larger fuel lines? I know there are more than 2 sizes but could you tell me the 2 most common? Thank you, I really enjoy your content 👍🏻

    Not knowing why those parts were missing - were they damaged, etc - a shop that will only replace with OEM parts was probably correct that it wasn't worth fixing. Around here, the full dealer/shops are around $100/hr. Add in an OEM carb, air filter housing and tune up kit would likely put it close to the cost of a new one. I charge $40-50/hr, so with those missing parts that's another $30 easy to get it running. I charge a full hour to start, with subsequent in 1/2hr increments. Those 225s are great little homeowner trimmers, and I love working on them because they're easy to fix too.

    I know you don't work for free but you must be pretty reasonable. ECHO, Stihl and Husqvarna are worth repairing in my opinion. You do quality work from what I see.

    I’ve got this same basic trimmer only unfortunately it’s a curved shaft model. Went to buy a mower last summer and the seller asked me to please take the trimmer and a big 30” Craftsman / Tecumseh snow thrower. Sold off the mower and snow thrower long ago, kept the little Echo trimmer though. Might put that power unit on a straight shaft model someday, I really dislike curved shaft trimmers.
