- Operation Solar Raid is coming on December 6 and it’s delivering a new intel-driven Defender to Rainbow Six Siege. Her name is Solis, she hails from Colombia, and she can reveal and tag the Attackers’ electronic gadgets with her SPEC-IO Electro Sensor to give her allies a whole new window into what the Attackers are up to.
But this new Operator is just the start of the absolute bounty of updates that Rainbow Six Siege is rolling out to celebrate its seventh birthday. There’s a sleek new map set in Singapore called Nighthaven Labs, and a completely new Battle Pass progression system that lets you plan your path to unlock the rewards you want faster. Cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation platforms is kicking in, and cross-progression is going live across all platforms. I say farewell to my favorite secondary gadget, the claymore. The most satisfying moment when enemy runs into it but this op will make it kinda obsolate if she can even tag it for teammates.

Intel ops are my favorite type of ops, with Sam & Valk being my favorite ops in the game. So, I'm REALLY loving how Solis functions and what she brings to the table. I also love that she doesn't just do everything herself, it's going to require good comms & teamwork to fully utilize her gadget. Awesome!

I have 1 concern with this new operator. I think she will make Pulse useless. She seems way better for countering plants
pulse is 3 speed with a c4. Plus his device pulls out much fast and it doesn’t have to recharge. Pulse doesn’t have bad guns either..

@@azuree9176 yeah that’s something I’ll give Infinite credit for was making the BPs not expire meaning all you have to do is when you miss a season is buy the premium since the free would be gone and it’s only $10 so it’s also cheaper than most BPs. But sadly Halo is suffering from a multitude of things
Honestly I really appreciate the no-friendly fire during prep phase addition. I don’t care if I get any flak for saying this, but props to the devs for continuously trying to stomp griefing. Can’t wait to try the new season!

Any non tech gadget users are good counters. Operators like fuze can sneak up and blast the room before most can detect his charge. If its on a soft walls fuze can plant detonat in around 3 seconds. Better yet use the gadget against the defenders, use the right tricks to mislead and bait out players to clear paths or into traps.

Hall really just like the attacker's to be overwhelmed with how good all the defenders gadgets and abilities are. Like you really gave us an attacker's who's abilities shoots bees that never hit anything and only has a few of them... balance the gadgets to make the game more fair

Exactly, a defender already has more edge in hiding and holding down a bottle neck/route from different angles. Now it seems like most of their gadgets are better too. IQ and hers should swap tbh.
I just got back into the game and I struggle heavily on attack nowadays on most maps, defense is faar easier imo, if we had old house and hereford I feel like at this point they would be considered balanced maps in "quick play / casual" at least, since the defenders are just overall better equipped. Loved those maps anyway, didn't really care for the balance, maybe I'm just desperate to get those maps back...
I also like how they introduce a new map and one we can’t ban when they stopped making new maps a few years ago that made players get used to the base ones and don’t want to bother learning the new ones anymore lol

The one thing I’m thinking of though is when you have a shotgun and you shoot at a drone during the prep phase and your teammates decide to be all “GET DOWN MISTER PRESIDENT!!!” As they run in front of your blast and get downed. This would solve that at least

Her potential is crazy strong and it's a little worrying. Guess we'll see if she needs a nerf in the coming weeks. I will say that as a solo queuer who drones A LOT before pushing a door or hallway, this likely does not bode well for me.

Siege is never gonna be revived like in past seasons. Lobbies are way more imbalanced and empty. A gold 3 can be in the same team as a bronze 3 lol
The only way to revive Siege is to bring back the old Graphics/lightning and corpses again

You know Ubisoft is running out of ideas when they bring the "It's an Attacker but they're an Defender!" asspull to the table for their "new operators".
So I guess with friendly fire removed from prep phase, the games are going to be much more fair now, in favor of both teams. There will be less 4v5 or 3v5 etc. bullshit, and that's only a good thing.
Can we get a sensitivity slider on console for drones/cameras? Or could ADS Sensitivity be activated via LT or something? Pinging/shooting objects with drones can be a pain on console if you play a higher horizontal sens.

I think a new defence operator who can activate a bullet proof shield on default cameras only would be good, say they get 3 charges and then they can activate this bulletproof shield that slides over the camera, assuming the bulletproof shield has always been built into the cameras just no one was able to activate them.

I think Solis would hugely unbalance the gameplay in favor of defenders as attackers' main and side gadgets aren't just tools but part of their tactics so maybe some of them like Jackal and Grim or even Glaz (not necessarily Lion) need to be buffed to be able to identify Solis by a different shape/color ping and highlight.
Finally I've been waiting for a Colombian operator and I'm happy they didn't make the operator look weird

Was on the fence but eager to see it in practice, as for not banning the map seems like a bad idea, all it takes is for someone to find a cheat in the map and exploit it
Characters like this just force this game towards a less tactical, just headshot, style game. Countering attacking opporators like this with such a blanketed unskilled method is just boring to play against, and boring to have on your team. There is a dynamic for hiding drones and finding drones. This Character means there's no point hiding drones and there's no point looking for drones either as either way she is going to take care of it. Its just a hard stop to a very core part of the game. Next there's gonna be a character which prevents opponents from shooting, or aiming down sights.
