The interesting thing about this is that they could manage a cash grab but never worked to give us the swappable claws like they advertised when the first figure got announced initially. You can still see the swapped claws on the first promo pictures so this is oddly annoying considering what they decided wasn’t worth making in the first place.
I am among those who are pissed off. I have both previous Wolverines that I haven't even displayed yet. It might be too late for Hot Toys since I already have a decent amount, but part of me wants to stop buying Hono if they will be like this as early in their line up (I already fully paid the pre-ordered Magneto and Spidey but at least that's all from Hono at the moment).
It also looks like they want to reuse these molds as much as possible to save on their costs and it keeps the figures cheaper. They will most likely do this with the Iron Man (war machine colors and stealth suit) and Magneto (white suit) and other upcoming characters. And the problem with most collectors is they think it’s about them. There are so many people who missed out or waited and this figure is for them.
Looks awesome, although I'm not going to buy it cause I already have the first one, and to be honest, if the first version would have come with both headsculpts, I would have used the masked one anyway. Having both would be nice of course, but I have such an overpopulation of figures that I wouldn't know where to display it anyway.
I bought the og and brown and I'm OK with this release which I ordered as well. I feel the people complaining just don't have the cash for it. People don't understand that this helps make other figures come into the line. Being mad or annoyed is dumb. Just don't buy and don't complain. Great video
One of the purposes of the Hono line is affordable figures for collectors. It’s stated in one of their IG posts. Everyone is upset about buying the same figure with a head sculpt that could have been added to the original release. Hot Toys has released standard versions of figures and deluxe versions that included an extra head sculpt and other accessories. With that in mind, as a branch from Hot Toys, Hono is only shooting themselves in the foot(especially this early) if this is a business model they intend to use. We’ll see how this sells and how they move from there.
My initial reaction was "WTF Hottoys...here just take my money." I will be getting this. I just got both previous Hono Wolverines and I LOVE THEM. Wolverine is my sweet sweet baby boy and I am here for it. I do wish we could have gotten this G-L-O-R-I-O-U-S sculpt with the initial release...but I would have been mad as hell that he didn't have the proper neck for it. I know there's aftermarket stuff you can buy to fix that problem but honestly...I don't wanna do that. And I don't wanna buy a hard resin sculpt that kinda fits the figure ok but will break at the drop of a hat. This was really the only way to get a proper unmasked Wolverine in the suit...without having one of those awful neck seams that even Spidey's web pattern can't mask. And, if I'm being completely honest...I hope that this means they'll be making him in his trademark jeans/flannel/wifebeater/cowboy boots outfit...because I want that too. I'd rather have a company make it than throw together some ugly-ass kit bash that won't live up to what I want. But it is bullshit that this one costs $15 more than what the previous two cost...and it's just a slightly reworked neck with a new sculpt. But DAMN...that sculpt is COMIC PERFECT.

Hono Wolverine 4th figure will be the same as this one but with an angry head sculpt then the 5th Wolverine will be the same as the 4th but battle damage😂😅

They always do this give us a figure and then the exact same one but this time with just 1 thing changed why didn't they just give us this headsculpt with the first figure?? And also, I have the Hono wolverine and maaaaan it's overpriced! I like your content though! 😅

Complain if it doesn’t get an extra head, complain about having an extra head that they can’t display, complain that it sold out, complain that it’s now available.
This “unmasked” comes with less than the original release. No interchangeable face swaps. Now you are spending $350 for 2 bodies. It’s a gigantic waste and a thumb in the eye for the customer.
Not collecting any Hono, but if I was, I would be upset as well. They could have just done a CE and Deluxe for this.
