I haven't listened to much Vlatkovic in the past, but this is definitely a reason to do so. Video/Audio quality aside, he has a beautiful tone, and he's incredibly musical. I like that he doesn't take the traditional approach for articulation throughout the entire piece. Refreshing, even for Mozart - now that's impressive!

A beautiful performance, but video is encoded by someone who screwed up the aspect ratio, and even worse, used way too much compression on the audio. One should never compress audio for classical music. Bravo, maestro Radovan, great to see him in action earlier in his illustrious solo career.
I notice that the horn player is sitting on the right hand side while other videos on youtube show the horn player in the middle seat. Do you know the difference and/or what Mozart originally mentioned if anything- Thank you
This score is obviously written to enhance the horn part. It is surprising to use two violas. This concentrates the sonority in the medium range. Two voilins would have provided a better balance. Nevertheless, the score is a masterwork
You've got to love the super-knowledgeable musicologist critics and pay absolutely no attention to them lest they ruin the experience of listening to a superb piece by a superb composer and in a superb interpretation.
IMHO, the horn being a lower pitch in F, needed a balance to complement the horn, thus violas used instead. The horn was brilliant. Astonishing. what a gem quintet. Wow.
