      Wonderful! And that is so true - kindness to the planet is also kindness to ourselves, since it's our home ❤

    I think you know that you and I have the same mindset about frugality, minimalism, and caring for the planet. I could not finish watching the documentary "Buy Now" because it is just too upsetting to me to see how we are systematically destroying the planet. I already knew the info but having to visualize it again was just too much. It really makes me angry that most people do absolutely nothing to help the earth.

      I couldn't agree more, Carole. The part where they tracked the broken computer parts in cargo ship leaving Belgium, only to discover they were dumped in Thailand, was truly heartbreaking. What’s even sadder is that this debris doesn’t just disappear when it was discarded in another continent -it lingers for generations, polluting the air we all breathe and the water we all drink 😔. I know I’m far from perfect, but I believe the first step is staying informed and doing my best to minimize my contribution to the problem. I think that’s all any of us can do.

    I got laid off at june, ever since then. I implemented a detailed budgeting strategy, tracking every expense and setting clear spending limits across all categories. In just six months, I saved over $60,000, giving me a strong sense of financial security and the ability to invest in my future. This approach has transformed the way I manage money, and I now feel more confident than ever about achieving my long-term goals.

      Working with Lorrie Greta Hillard , a financial advisor, was a game changer. She helped me refine my savings strategy, including retirement planning, and provided expert guidance on investments and budgeting to maximize my savings.

    I wanna ask about investing - I am new here but, it seems that you are being enviromentally conciousness and you think about what you buy does influence the world we live in.
    However how do you approach ETFs? Are you only looking on the growth or also what companies are you buying and if there actions align with yours? I see this as people are becoming more aware with what/where they buy their stuff but at the same time thery are pouring their money to the corporations that are puting the profits first without thinking about their social and enviromental impact.
    This is not a critique it is a genuine question as I am thinking how to approach investing. Thank you

    • @ASlowSimpleLife
      @ASlowSimpleLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I get what you mean, and I agree it’s important to think about these things. There are ESG-focused ETFs for people who prioritize environmental values-it’s great that you’re considering this.

    • @ammj6791
      @ammj6791 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree, I wanted to ask the same question. I think its very important to invest in things that will not hurt the planet or people, and I find that this is nearly impossible if you invest in stock market

    Hi Suzy I’m hoping to save a little each month throughout 2025 live within my means or even under it if possible I don’t spend much at all on myself I do live pretty minimal but I have loads of family birthdays and Christmas can prove to be pretty costly for me as my family is pretty materialistic I find this my biggest expense 😊 but I’d really like to cut back on them I’m just not sure how to do it as everything is pretty expensive in the uk as for an instance Nike T-shirt £25 Nike sweatshirt £65 Nike pants £38 ‘ this is for one 11 year old and I have 14 people to buy for I really feel this financially but I feel Quilty if I give them less quality items this has been my full adult life I’ve been burdened by Christmas I’d love suggestions on what I can do about this’ thank you Suzy for your wonderful video 🌻🥰 can I add I’m personally not interested in Christmas as I understand it’s just another pagan festival

    • @ASlowSimpleLife
      @ASlowSimpleLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Margaret, I completely understand how tough it can be to navigate birthdays and Christmas, especially when loved ones have high expectations. Setting kind but clear boundaries can help. For example, you might say, “This year, I’m focusing on meaningful gifts and keeping things simple. I hope you’ll love what I’ve planned!” Being upfront lets them know your thoughtful effort comes from the heart, not the wallet.
      You could also suggest starting new traditions that focus on connection rather than cost. Maybe a gift exchange with a spending cap or shared experiences like a family meal or movie night. These can ease financial pressure while celebrating the true spirit of the season-togetherness and love.
      Your presence and thoughtfulness will always mean the most ❤
