( 18:25 ) I feel the same way when I saw RTD on the Graham Norton show, and you could tell the audience didn’t know who he was when he was proclaiming “I’m back”
And so ends my first year as a batmanmarch enjoyer... Well, not quite - still have the patreon commentary next week, but you get my point. Big shoutout to Josh Snares. If it wasn't for me randomly watching one of his videos last March or April, I never would've seen your colab with him in the recommended bar and decided to give it a go. Been an absolute blast. Where else would I be reminded that Roger Moore ended a 12 year run as James Bond going "Hah, hah! ~ooohhh!~", or be mentally scarred by Matt's niche Doctor Who vulgarities; "Come with me, Cameca, and let me rub your cocoa bean" unfortunately lives rent free in my head, and isn't showing any signs of buggering off... Anyway, here's to another great year!
This episode has one of my favorite 11th Doctor moments, hell, maybe one of my favorite Doctor moments period. “You’re scared of your father, scared of being like him. And good for you, you’re not like him, not really, you know why? Because you didn’t hit the boy.” I know this is a well-regarded episode, but I think that scene in particular doesn’t get enough recognition as a stand-out moment.
Always wondered why Kazran never asked the Doctor to help cure Abigail. Given we never learn what her illness is, it would've been worth asking, I'd be fine if the Doctor couldn't help as that would've sold Kazran's anger more, but making no attempt to ask is kind of odd.
Cracking christmas special, but I think I'd have to put Voyage higher. To me that feels the most christmassy with the christmas themed titanic, Astrid was bloody lovely and it actually had a whole lot of tragedy involved. It wasn't afraid to pull it's punches just because it was christmas.
My favourite Christmas special. I love that it's ScFi but with some Christmas magical but in a fantasy way that doesn't feel over the top or cheesy. It is fun but has it's serious moments and plays with a classic and time itself in a great way. Moffat works best for me when the concept is simple. When you strip Blink down to the basics, it's not really that complicated. When he tries too hard that's when I feel it doesn't work as well.
Yes I've been stuck at work over Christmas and have missed most of press stuff. I have also mostly checked out for this special, I haven't even watched the trailer.
Agree, The War Games IS the Christmas special. I have a feeling they might show future Doctor's when they give the 2nd Doc options for his regeneration...
Oh no way, I somehow totally missed the news the Savages was getting animated It's one I've been meaning to revisit it, as Steven leaving was the main memory i have of it too
It’s annoying that hot on the heels of The Big Bang, there’s another story where the problem is resolved by The Doctor going back in time to fix things, which the show usually says mustn’t happen.
I hated this the first time too. It's grown on me, probably because of the dross since then! Shark didn't help! Performances and guest cast is terrific though!
Honestly a lame Christmas special. I mean Michael Gambon is good in this story but everything else I don’t care. Frankly I don’t like any of Matt Smith’s Christmas specials.
( 21:21 ) They did this with some of the new UNIT characters and Rose 2.0 where they appear in one story and suddenly they are an “old friend”

Merry Christmas Matt and Billy.
I hope you get the spirit back. 🎄 Happy Holidays to all fellow Doctor Who fans as well. 🎁

Merry Christmas Billy and Matt x
Billy you really gotta invest into a mic lol
I cannot believe Billy just said that North By Northwest is appalling!
( 2:42 ) Billy: *Crickey* mate it’s Christmas! 😂 *BAKING HOT SUN*
“Silence will fall” was first mentioned in The Eleventh Hour I think, by Prisoner Zero
Billy is turning into a bo-ho Greek restaurant owner lothario! I like it! 😂

Hartnell's face is so mercurial, he looks complete different in different shots.
Merry Christmas, have a great one lads!
Crazy how spot on these predictions were, lads. Like you said, it's like you'd watched JTTW already!

That's all I'm here to say 😭😂

Just remember no matter how bad this years christmas special "Joy To The World" may be, this one has flying fish and sharks!!!

Merry Christmas guys 🎄🦈
Merry Christmas everyone
Watched a 'Withnail & I' video of a live Q&A with Paul McGann & Ralph Brown earlier. There in the front row were you & Billy looking about ten!
@CastellanSpandex I had no idea that was online! I'll have to check it out!
Merry christmas!

I'm gonna be honest, all the shows that Billy listed that are on at the same time as Doctor Who, I think I'd rather watch this year haha
