The "Little Bistro" you mentioned at the beginning of the video belongs to my cousin. It's called The Corner Cafe. Always has British Soccer on the TV and good homemade food. Stop in and say hello. His name is Vancho and his wife is Gerganna. Lucky you to be in Bansko. It's awesome...I'm in USA hoping to go visit the family soon. Nice walk and talk by the way.

Its so quiet there ....miss Bansk
Bansko is a ghost town right now. No crowds no nothing. BUT, Covid could be a blessing in disguise for the people who are there for skiing/snowboarding. Lifts/pistes are almost business as usual (some aren't open yet) so if you can adapt and do not miss clubs/restaurants too much and are there for the skiing, this season could potentially be the best ever.
A couple of feet of fresh snow wouldn't go amiss tho...
Came in January this year for the first time and loved it have booked again for the 14th Jan do you think the resort will be up and running or should i delay?

We couldn't visit Bansko in winter 2019-2020 and definatelly we can't in this winter season 2020-2021 (from Greece)...
Everything is ruined due to this pathetic virus of Covid-19! I hope this nightmare will end.

Is there any restrictions on travel within Bulgaria? Very tempted to stay for a few weeks; work; and go boarding on the weekends and sunny days.
At the moment, there are no travel restrictions when you're in Bulgaria. This could change of course. Bear in mind too that covid19 is putting strain in the hospitals right now.
Hoping to come from the UK to Bansko at the end of feb. have flights booked, accom, just need to see what the situation is like with covid/travel restrictions then

Andy, I would recommend Zornitsa near Sandanski. Upscale accommodation too. But many good wineries in that area. I will do a blog on the wine route round there soon

How to get to Bansko from the UK?
depending on Tier you can fly with Ryan Air/ easyjet, BA etc but seems to be getting challenging if you are in Tier 4 in the UK.
