James chats with Dr. Mark Hibbett, the world's leading (and only!) academic expert in Doctor Doom.
Dr. Hibbett is a member of University of the Arts London’s (UAL) Comics Research Hub, based at London College of Communication (LCC), and specialises in transmedia comics characters. He authored the book ‘Data and Doctor Doom: An Empirical Approach to Transmedia Characters’, published in 2024, and his work on the character has been presented at multiple international conferences. He is the only person in the world to hold a PhD in Doctor Doom.
The two talk Doom's origins, Robert Downey Jr's return to the MCU and what it might mean for the character's return to the big screen.
