The only inaccuracy I can see is the arc personnel fleeing. This is Halo Humanity, they've been up against extinction for decades. Those boys would fight to the last.
I severely disagree. They would fight well, but the demons are on the same level as the flood, not the covenant. the unsc can barley contain the flood. The demons in the lore codex were said to just be too numerous and too powerful to handle. They had Godzilla mechs what did nothing and it says the pinky alone could withstand artillery blast.

The marauders axe is made from argent energy the same as the crucible. It’s much stronger than plasma (plasma swords that cut right through spartan armor) because it’s stable at ridiculously high temperatures since it’s from hell and everything. Also wanna point out that The marauder is moving sometimes faster than doomslayer (we see this when he side steps this could also be his version of dashing) , i could argue maybe close to or around the same speed of 50 something miles an hour constantly. He’s reacting to missiles and plasma based weapons instantly so I don’t think Spartan time would be valuable in this fight either. If chief could win, it definitely be by luck.
@@ItsButterBean1020 The Doomslayer struggles to fight a Marauder yet he can use a sword to cut through almost any demon while the same type of energy doesn't kill him off until a few hits in. The games are much too inconsistent for the sake of action. It's not wrong but trying to decide how strong an enemy is based on the surroundings is always gonna be inaccurate. Whereas Halo has dozens of books that are canon lore, Doom mostly just has the games, with the Slayer changing power each game on an unknown scale.
Overall, I really liked this video. It was well done and each character was analyzed thoroughly. Buuuuuut I did notice a few things that were a little off on The Marauder's side: 1: How do we know that demons can actually tire? Sure, night sentinels can, but there's never been evidence of demons sitting around and taking a breather 2: In-game, The Marauder never really slowed down due to damage, he just keeps trucking on after every shot until he dies 3: Considering the fact that The Marauder (in one of the glory kills) actually *held off* The Doomguy's left arm for even a second with one arm, there's no chance in hell (funny pun) that chief would be able to overpower him 4: The Marauder's reaction speeds are faster than depicted in this video. He's fast enough to pull up his shield as someone's firing a gun at him and block the shots. This means he's more than fast enough to notice a grenade on the floor before he dashes. 5: The Wolf is probably tough enough to survive a little Cortana shock. It can survive a few shots from the combat shotgun from a few meters away (edit) 6: The Marauder's shield deflects grenades, bullets, rockets, and everything besides energy projectiles, which would likely get fly back at chief or just send them back far enough to where The Marauder wouldn't have to mind them. And considering they both use guns and that The Marauder can react fast enough to block shotgun blasts at near point-blank range, there's not much chief would be able to do to surprise him
I mean, if we're talking mostly game-wise, Master Chief would probably win. Although I understand the reaction time of the Marauder is very fast. You have to realize he gets stunned very easily. From a shotgun to the face and a grenade from behind, Master Chief could start attacking him while he is very vulnerable. And I also know that Marauders were in the divinity machine. The same machine that made Doom Guy into Slayer. However, since in-game the Marauder could still get damaged from bullets I think Master Chief can win. But lore-wise no. I mean in the game, the Marauders get stunned very easily. And if Master Chief can predict his movement and timing then a well-shot shotgun and grenades would probably end the Marauder. And the wolf, Master Chief would probably learn that the wolf is only summoned from shooting his shield from Cortana and learn the exact pattern the Marauder is fighting in and get the upper hand. The problem with the Marauder is that he has very high defense but has a very easy counter due to him having a very coordinated fighting style.
Cortana shock? Its the shield of the chief that damages it when hes hit and even if it was running at him he could dodge it concentrate on both of them. I dont really know what the wolf is made of, is it argent energy? Like how many shots from lets say a shotgun does it take to kill it
@@explicit862 The reason I called it a Cortana shock was because on the other video of this (the guy that did the marauder's research) it was called something like that. From a combat shotgun, it can take two, maybe even three shots to kill it if it's about 3 or 4 meters away. Sure, he can run from both him and the wolf (and eventually kill the wolf), but it'd be really difficult to keep that up for too long considering the fact that he has to stay away from The Marauder. If The Marauder gets too close to chief, there's a good chance he's gonna break his shields with a super shotgun blast (if his wolf hasn't already) then chop him with his axe. Even if chief dodges backwards to escape the axe itself, realistically The Marauder could launch those argent projectiles in the same movement.
@@justiceinthehouse6199 If we're talking about like a player chief fighting against a more A.I like Marauder, yeah I think chief would win no doubt. But if we're looking at a realistic fight between the two, I'm sure The Marauder wouldn't just sit back and repeat the shotgun dash attack combo. If chief threw a grenade anywhere I doubt The Marauder would just stand next to it and let himself get blown up. If chief were to fire a shotgun at The Marauder, he'd have to get close, which makes it hard to dodge him when he can react fast enough to block a shotgun shot by pulling up his shield in point-blank range. Sure, chief can probably land a shot on The Marauder, but he'd probably take a hit from his super shotgun, which is obviously more powerful than chief's gun. Again, if we're going realistically, The Marauder could just summon the wolf without needing to be shot at first. And on the subject of grenades, bullets, rockets and such, The Marauder's shield will actually deflect those right back at him, giving him even *more* to worry about.
If chief gets better augmentatiin and better armour created out of the stuff from hell and weapons also mixed with hell,covenant and human tech the army of hell would have 2 slayers to worry about

Didn't Doom and Doom Eternal technically happen 300 years or so before Halo? Also, Chief and other Spartans II's, have directional thrusters on their Mjolnir suits, and are capable of dodging while on the ground, though they are more effective in space or in the air. I figured that would've been an important thing to note.
Doom Eternal is set in 2150 while Halo was set in 2554. But humans in Doom Eternal can make plasma weapons and make it a standard issue while humans in Halo still relies on conventional weapons. Your point being?
@@darrelarno9151 Your point about the plasma weaponry is a valid one. My point is that aside from that fact, it would be interesting if Doom and Doom Eternal happened within the same canon. With the technology in Doom and DE, rebuilding and repopulating Earth and its sister planets would progress better after the demons and their "allies" were defeated, while potentially taking a slight dip or pause in technological prowess as a result, which would explain why humanity would have still relied on conventional ballistic weapons well into the 2550's. Which, given the sheer amount of death and destruction caused by the demons, it's not too hard to imagine technological improvement would take a backseat to rebuilding and repopulation for a few centuries. Also, a significant portion of standard issue as well as personal weaponry in the human arsenal still relied on ballistics. From what I can tell, the majority of the Doom Slayer's arsenal were ballistics weapons, with a couple plasma weapons, one of which was issued to special forces only and the other being an experimental weapon that wasn't mass produced. Both of which used Argent Energy or a derivative of it. With the flow of Argent Energy cut off or interrupted, due once again to the Doom Slayer, Humanity would once again have to rely on conventional and nuclear weapons for a good long while. Not saying my hypothesis is 100% correct and I'm sure there's holes, but that's why it's a hypothesis and not a theory. If it is accurate at all, the Doom Slayer would single handedly and simultaneously be the reason Spartans would exist four-ish centuries later and why it took that long in the first place.

So, apparently in this battle, you can overload marauder's shield which doesn't make sense because it's the same material that the crucible uses, if you could overload Marauder shields you'd be able to in-game but you can't, there's a clear distinction between the soldier shields and marauder shields. Also using that logic we could "Overload" Doom guys crucible, which doesn't make sense. Then he says because chief has an energy shield that he can take a hit from what is essentially a crucible to the neck and it "Bounces off" first offense was comparing the crucible to an energy sword. They are not comparable in any way, Crucible far surpasses an energy sword in practically every fashion. And even if we put them in the same league does this mean if an Elite hit master chief in the neck with an energy sword it would also "Bounce off" if his shields were up? Because that's kinda stupid. You're also implying Chief is faster than the Doom Slayer because the Marauder can't keep track of him when it can 100% keep track of Doom guy, even when he's using dash and double jumping, which I don't believe for a second because DOOM Guy was blessed by an angel and given godly powers, including speed. DOOM Guy without dash or any other way of movement moves at 49.5MPH Master Chief at his fastest was 65ish MPH, but then tore a part of his tendon. He would have to be sprinting the entire battle against The Marauder to keep up which eventually cause issues in his body. Also the going back to something previously mentioned, Chief doesn't have a good enough arsenal to fight a Marauder. SMG's would not even phase a possessed let alone a Marauder. DOOM Guy's weakest weapon is comparable to a fully automatic, explosive, halo Sniper rifle, and that takes 2 shots to simply stumble a fodder demon. (That weapon is his assault rifle which fires flak 50 rounds) Chief would need to have DOOM Guy's Arsenal to make this a good fight, and even then he would not be able to properly use all the weapons that DOOM guy has, like the Balista and BFG which would knock him to his knees if he tried to fire either one of those 2, basically he'd have no way to really stumble a marauder unless he had DOOM's Arsenal As for the Marauder getting slower while injured, I dunno if he would actually get any slower? In-game he doesn't tire no matter how critical the injury is, nor' does the DOOM Guy himself, also another point, the Marauder can react far quicker than any demon in hell being able to block balista and rocket launcher shots at close range almost instantly. "master chief punches the marauder to death" Yeah no. I'm sorry But this just doesn't seem realistic in the slightest. The Marauder as an enemy is far stronger and faster than any entity in Halo and it does feel like genuine ass pulls to give Chief a win here, maybe I'm just a DOOM fanboy but I'm not happy with the conclusion of this battle, in my opinion the battle was over when the Marauder hit Chief on the neck. If the crucible can cut through a baron of hell in one slice, It can 100% chop through anything the UNSC could dream of making. I love this channel and I have enjoyed watching collabs and stuff like this, but this is easily the most unrealistic win I've seen for one of these discussions, but It's all in the name of good fun so nothing worth losing sleep over lol.
Spartans were known for much better feats than you'd usually see in the games. 80 miles an hour top speed, shielding that could take a missile from a jet, seeing everything in slow motion. He can lift around 3 tons, and only gets stronger with his upgrades in Halo 5 with thrusters and all. He would absolutely overpower the Marauder with precision combined with speed, as while the Marauder may or may not be more powerful (Spartans can bend 5 inch thick steel with ease) Chief simply has the better processing time for strategy along with being a lot more agile than the Slayer. It's like Rock Paper Scissors. Doomguy bears Chief, Chief beats Marauder, Marauder (almost) beats Doomguy.
Don't even fret dude. This video was totally set up for MC to win since he is a more "iconic" character than the Marauder, even though *lore* wise the Marauder is comparable to the Slayer. The fact that they said the Marauder would slow down and that his argent axe would bounce off the energy shield is ridiculous... They also got a lot of the lore on the Marauders and Night Sentinels wrong. The Slayer fought Sentinel prisoners in the arena, not "Night" Sentinels who were the elite warriors of the race. They didn't mention that the Night Sentinels would beat down the Doom Guy in their initial spars and would outrun him on their first expeditions to Hell (even though he surpassed them later on before the divination buff). They also completely leave out the fact that the Marauders were resurrected by the divination machine, the same that boosted the Slayer to godhood...

@@Espartanica Its far from even, though. Hell far surpasses the Flood and the precursors. About strength, the Slayer is able to break apart steel with ease by just punching it, he's able to punch enormous blocks of either metal, steel, etc. with ease as well and even topple a crucified giant Agaddon hunter and the Marauder can stop a punch from him while being extremely injured. I think many people downplay demons, because even a lowly Imp is inhumanly strong. In the game, they are seen breaking out of walls that have metal structures, when they infight with zombiemen their blows literally cause shockwaves. It is stated that a single Pinky is able to flip armored vehicles and/or destroy them, they are even capable of taking out entire platoons and Pinkies are one of the lowest classes of demons. In-game, the Marauder reacts so fast that he's able to put up his shield to stop the hit from a CLOSE RANGE super shotgun blast
@@Espartanica MC never faces the Flood at their fullest strength/final phase. Even when the Gravemind (the greatest flood form save for Key Minds) picks him up we can see Chief struggle for a moment before realizing its futile, on the other hand we all know that the Slayer would tear through that tentacle like tissue paper. The Flood are dangerous and would probably take over Earth much quicker than the demons, but they are much more preventable. The Flood in Halo 3 are stopped with a nuke whereas the Titans in Doom Eternal are impervious to all mundane weaponry, even nuclear bombs...

@@mohza1890 The Maraudar is actually deadlier than him. They are corrupted Knight Sentinels, and Doom Slayer was the WEAKEST Sentinal, all Sentinels were stronger. So Marsuders are at least on his level if not just above.

honestly doomslayer's actual abilities aren't that different. Sure, the lore plays him up like hell, but his actual capabilities aren't that far from Chief's. as for the energy sword thing, that was more shitty choreography than anything else in my opinion.

This actually makes sense when you look at it from a gameplay perspective. To beat the Marauder, a player needs good reflexes to exploit the openings it makes between attacks while evading everything it throws at you. Chief is basically a pro Doom Eternal player in that regard thanks to his reflexes.
Sorry but I have a huge problem with two things, 1 The Shield Gets Heavier. 2 The Axe Bounces Off The Shield. These two things don't happen in game, the shield just kinda stays there, and Chie's shield doesn't have the ability and strength to block the axe...

There's some wrong with the lore on the Marauder here. Firstly, the Doom Guy didn't fight Night Sentinels in the arena, he fought PoWs. The Night Sentinels are the "elite" of the Sentinel race, each one able to take on hordes of demons with a basic spear as mentioned in this video. The Doom Guy started training with them and actually couldn't keep up with them at first, but he gradually surpassed them. In fact they would kick his ass several times in sparring: " as they witnessed the Stranger spar with their hall-masters they found in him an undying, unrelenting compatriot. This man was an outlander, friend to none, and yet rose each time he was thrown to the dirt of the circle. Battered and bruised, his brow stained with blood, he rose with grim determination for the chance to face his enemies in armed combat once again." The Marauders aren't "just" corrupted Night Sentinels, they were resurrected using the same divinity machine that boosted the Slayer to godhood: "Resurrected by the Divinity Machine of Maykr design, these fallen Sentinels were returned from the dead, transformed by Hell's power, and recreated with a singular purpose: to hunt the Slayer" Leaving gameplay aside (as players are now able to kill Marauders in seconds), lore-wise this means that the Marauders are about the equivalent of or slightly lesser than the Doom Slayer himself. Hugo Martin himself has said in interviews that the Slayer is like Obi Wan Kenobi and the Marauder is like Darth Maul, or Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris when compared to each other. I also disagree with using "Spartan time" in this battle. What about "Marauder time"? If the Slayer has "power and speed to match his will" and the Marauder is arguably as dangerous as him, how exactly would the Marauder be slower than the Chief? Because there is no "Marauder time" in gameplay? But there's no "Spartan time" in Halo's gameplay? Also, the argent battle-axe "bounces" of Chief's energy shield whereas elite energy swords cuts through that shit like butter? Sorry mate, this battle is all over the place...
Chiefs luck is a poor argument I see always being used as well, he wasn't lucky enough to save Cortana or all those people who got composed in Halo 4 lmao!

How does an energy blast from the axe deplete Chief's shields and fatally wound his chest whereas the axe itself, the very source of the same blast, "bounces" off? If a line needs to be drawn then why use all of Chief's greatest feats from the novels and falsely provide lore for the Marauder who is much more than a "corrupted" Night Sentinel when he is in fact comparable to the Slayer himself (who beats Chief in another hypothetical battle narrated by the very same content creator)? All I'm saying is that at least the lore should be correct and the feats chosen for the battle consistent...
@@smmk88 this usually applies to things like weapons. It's like how in game, when Arbiter needed to cut the cables, there were multiple energy swords lying on the ground. I know it's not chief, but I talking about the scenario, and Bungie likes to call that luck. Also, all the times in Halo when he was in a pelican and didn't get shot down, that was also Bungie saying chief was lucky. Chief has a mix of skill and luck, and usually that luck applies to him finding correct weapons, and him having the luck to survive random chance, like the Pelican scenario. I think it's noteworthy that in this battle, Chief not once manged to use a gun like the Spartan Laser, SPNKR or energy sword. This is why the luck argument really does not have too much of an impact, for all he used was an AR, BR, SMG and a plasma rifle. We can assume we carried two of those guns into battle, found a third at an armory somewhere, and the plasma rifle was on the ground as said on the video. So in this, luck wasn't as big of a factor as you might think. I think his greatest feat if luck, was his shields charging just on time to take the plasma axe
@@antondavidovic3996 and coming to think of it, maybe they thought of the electro magnetic shields. As said, when the wolf pounced, it was killed by the vented electricity. I think that's how it works. When breaking the shield, the shield exploded and released a force of electricity in order to push the axe back, which is why they use "bounce off" for a lack of a better term
One more thing, Cortana wouldn’t know who the marauder is as he is a fallen night sentinel, this means chief doesn’t know the marauder’s tactics, Cortana can pinpoint where the marauder is going to dash, but the marauder would dash too quickly for Cortana to cope
Yeah, at first. It only takes a couple of seconds to figure out it's strategies for Chief and Cortana. By the time they were predicting it's movements before it made them, the fight had been going for a short while and it had been dashing around.

Artificial intelligence can compute information insanely fast, she’s the most powerful and smartest AI in the UNSC for one, you cannot comprehend how fast her information download and upload is, she’s a huge strength for chief as both their reaction times are ridiculous...just saying...she can more than cope with a marauder dashing two or three times
The Marauders reflexes are kinda inconsistent. He can react to a trigger pull at close range, though has trouble avoiding grenades. You can falter him while he’s swinging his axe, though he can stop himself mid-attack to block the Unmakyr. With that being said, I’m not sure who would really win here.
The constructed story of DOOM is honestly metal as hell and is beautiful in its own way. As well, Hidden, your ability and style of covering lore is superb. If you ask me, it's a natural expansion :D
I the only things that I disagree with the fight is that Argent Energy bouncing off Chiefs shield. Argent energy isn't your average video game plasma. It's about 6.70115666E^26 hotter than the core of our sun. So even if the shielding survives, the armor is going to resemble Styrofoam after being cut by 1000 degree knife (Or in this case, an axe). Also The weapons the Chief use don't pack the same punch a weapon from Doom would have so hits on the Marauder wouldn't be as lethal as long as its not from a Spartan laser but the Marauders Shield takes care of that.

I've been playing Halo since I was 7 or 8 and is easily my favourite gaming franchise and have never really played any DOOM other than DOOM (2016) a tiny amount at a friend's place on PC, and know nothing about the DOOM franchise, but based off of what I've seen of the newer games and what was said about the Marauder in this video, I personally think the Marauder would win. I'm not just going to say Chief like a lot of people just because I want Chief to win. I mean, who doesn't love Chief? But I don't think he'd win.
Probably because most of the information regarding Spartans and John in particular, are from expanded universe material and not the games, the John vs Lock fight is an example of this.

I don’t think being able to kill the doom slayer in game should be considered a feat of strength. Basic demons can kill the slayer in a few melee hits. Doomslayers health gets low if he’s sneezed on in game.
That's game wise. He's talking Lore wise. Those piss poor demons cant do shit to doom slayer. The Maurader is literally made to beat doomslayer. He is CAPABLE of beating him. He is DEMON doomslayer. Maurader Vs any other demon in the game (exc. Icon of sin) would shit on them. That's why in ever single fucking battle encounter, you will never experience 2 mauraders at a time. NEVER.
Spartan S238 in game mechanics are not the same as lore capabilities. Obviously Imps are not able to kill the slayer. But considering the marauders were resurrected with the very same machine that gave the doom slayer his unlimited power, it is fair to say that the marauders at least have a chance at killing the slayer more so than almost any other enemy in the game alongside demons like the icon of sin. Also the marauders use crucible axes, which are similar to the slayers crucible sword in composition so it is within reason to say that the marauders would be capable of killing the slayer. But the slayer is just simply to skilled and powerful for them to actually do so. Regardless there is no way master chief would be able to outmaneuver an enemy such as the marauder when the marauder is capable of keeping up with the slayer
I disagree, the doomslayer has a hard time keeping up with the maruader, with his literal god level augmentations, and that whole "he's left open after a big attack" is there so the player can actually hit him.also plasma has no effect on the maruader shield. Even in-game you can't take it down. Your just making stuff up. The chief would lose hard.

Under some circumstances Chief should take the victory. But I a bit disagree on Speed tho. The Maurader has way better combat speed and reaction timing. It can sheild itself from Plasma fire, bullet shots, and Ballista fires, it can also no sell BFG shots. Not only that but it takes about 4 or 5 BFG shots to kill the Maurader. The BFG 9000s is superior to the 2 megakelvin laser that didn't even scratch The Doomslayer's suit. And Chief ain't tanking above 2 megakelvin energy waves. If anything the Plasma in the Halo Halo Universe =/= as the Argent Energy heat in the Doom-verse. 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit is the confirmed heat of Plasma in the Halo verse, and when converted to megakelvin it's about 0.00327 megakelvin. And when reverse converting 2 megakelvin is about 3,599,540.33 degrees Fahrenheit. Literally 100x greater than the 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit in the Halo verse. Assuming that the Maurader's axe is the same as a Plasma Sword from Halo is like me assuming that all Universes run on DC logic. The Axe is far superior in terms of how it's weilded, and the fact that Doom Plasma is literally hotter than Halo plasma. The most struggle Chief will get would be on how the Maurader doesn't job in fights compared to most Covenant aliens. Not gonna lie Covenant Aliens don't job that much when in combat but some of them do when in comparison to Dooms Hell where the demons literally dog pile you the moment you're present. The Maurader will keep coming at Chief. The Maurader is the equivalent of a Sanghieli and a Brute in terms on how it fights. It has the ferocity, and thirst to fight similar to a Brute but it knows on how to efficiently weild weapons, and know when to attack like an Elite. So if anything if Chief (*I use IF because the dude isn't gonna just stand there and take it) gets hit by the Maurader's Plasma and Argent energy waves. It'll just melt him into goop. Like I said Chief ain't tanking 2 megakelvin.

Just one minor addition to Chief's strengths. He was chained from a child of six I think to he a weapon. This type of childhood training and dedication is an always overlooked part of the chiefs arsenal. Not only does he have those incredible reflexes and creativity and luck and spartan time, he's also got like beyond SAS level training. So he knows what to do with those stretched put seconds. I'm not explaining very well but just adding to your very entertaining video my modest opinion. Thanks for making. Lot of fun

I severely disagree. They would fight well, but the demons are on the same level as the flood, not the covenant. the unsc can barley contain the flood. The demons in the lore codex were said to just be too numerous and too powerful to handle. They had Godzilla mechs what did nothing and it says the pinky alone could withstand artillery blast.

I strongly believe Marauder's axe is way stronger than Halo Energy Sword.
The marauders axe is made from argent energy the same as the crucible. It’s much stronger than plasma (plasma swords that cut right through spartan armor) because it’s stable at ridiculously high temperatures since it’s from hell and everything. Also wanna point out that The marauder is moving sometimes faster than doomslayer (we see this when he side steps this could also be his version of dashing) , i could argue maybe close to or around the same speed of 50 something miles an hour constantly. He’s reacting to missiles and plasma based weapons instantly so I don’t think Spartan time would be valuable in this fight either. If chief could win, it definitely be by luck.

@@ItsButterBean1020 The Doomslayer struggles to fight a Marauder yet he can use a sword to cut through almost any demon while the same type of energy doesn't kill him off until a few hits in. The games are much too inconsistent for the sake of action. It's not wrong but trying to decide how strong an enemy is based on the surroundings is always gonna be inaccurate. Whereas Halo has dozens of books that are canon lore, Doom mostly just has the games, with the Slayer changing power each game on an unknown scale.
Another way he could have gotten all those weapons is because there in a highly defended facility where there are definitely weapons stored

Overall, I really liked this video. It was well done and each character was analyzed thoroughly. Buuuuuut I did notice a few things that were a little off on The Marauder's side:
1: How do we know that demons can actually tire? Sure, night sentinels can, but there's never been evidence of demons sitting around and taking a breather
2: In-game, The Marauder never really slowed down due to damage, he just keeps trucking on after every shot until he dies
3: Considering the fact that The Marauder (in one of the glory kills) actually *held off* The Doomguy's left arm for even a second with one arm, there's no chance in hell (funny pun) that chief would be able to overpower him
4: The Marauder's reaction speeds are faster than depicted in this video. He's fast enough to pull up his shield as someone's firing a gun at him and block the shots. This means he's more than fast enough to notice a grenade on the floor before he dashes.
5: The Wolf is probably tough enough to survive a little Cortana shock. It can survive a few shots from the combat shotgun from a few meters away
(edit) 6: The Marauder's shield deflects grenades, bullets, rockets, and everything besides energy projectiles, which would likely get fly back at chief or just send them back far enough to where The Marauder wouldn't have to mind them. And considering they both use guns and that The Marauder can react fast enough to block shotgun blasts at near point-blank range, there's not much chief would be able to do to surprise him
I mean, if we're talking mostly game-wise, Master Chief would probably win. Although I understand the reaction time of the Marauder is very fast. You have to realize he gets stunned very easily. From a shotgun to the face and a grenade from behind, Master Chief could start attacking him while he is very vulnerable. And I also know that Marauders were in the divinity machine. The same machine that made Doom Guy into Slayer. However, since in-game the Marauder could still get damaged from bullets I think Master Chief can win. But lore-wise no. I mean in the game, the Marauders get stunned very easily. And if Master Chief can predict his movement and timing then a well-shot shotgun and grenades would probably end the Marauder. And the wolf, Master Chief would probably learn that the wolf is only summoned from shooting his shield from Cortana and learn the exact pattern the Marauder is fighting in and get the upper hand. The problem with the Marauder is that he has very high defense but has a very easy counter due to him having a very coordinated fighting style.
Cortana shock? Its the shield of the chief that damages it when hes hit and even if it was running at him he could dodge it concentrate on both of them. I dont really know what the wolf is made of, is it argent energy? Like how many shots from lets say a shotgun does it take to kill it
@@explicit862 The reason I called it a Cortana shock was because on the other video of this (the guy that did the marauder's research) it was called something like that. From a combat shotgun, it can take two, maybe even three shots to kill it if it's about 3 or 4 meters away. Sure, he can run from both him and the wolf (and eventually kill the wolf), but it'd be really difficult to keep that up for too long considering the fact that he has to stay away from The Marauder. If The Marauder gets too close to chief, there's a good chance he's gonna break his shields with a super shotgun blast (if his wolf hasn't already) then chop him with his axe. Even if chief dodges backwards to escape the axe itself, realistically The Marauder could launch those argent projectiles in the same movement.
@@justiceinthehouse6199 If we're talking about like a player chief fighting against a more A.I like Marauder, yeah I think chief would win no doubt. But if we're looking at a realistic fight between the two, I'm sure The Marauder wouldn't just sit back and repeat the shotgun dash attack combo. If chief threw a grenade anywhere I doubt The Marauder would just stand next to it and let himself get blown up. If chief were to fire a shotgun at The Marauder, he'd have to get close, which makes it hard to dodge him when he can react fast enough to block a shotgun shot by pulling up his shield in point-blank range. Sure, chief can probably land a shot on The Marauder, but he'd probably take a hit from his super shotgun, which is obviously more powerful than chief's gun. Again, if we're going realistically, The Marauder could just summon the wolf without needing to be shot at first. And on the subject of grenades, bullets, rockets and such, The Marauder's shield will actually deflect those right back at him, giving him even *more* to worry about.

But humans in Doom Eternal can make plasma weapons and make it a standard issue while humans in Halo still relies on conventional weapons.

@@darrelarno9151 Your point about the plasma weaponry is a valid one. My point is that aside from that fact, it would be interesting if Doom and Doom Eternal happened within the same canon. With the technology in Doom and DE, rebuilding and repopulating Earth and its sister planets would progress better after the demons and their "allies" were defeated, while potentially taking a slight dip or pause in technological prowess as a result, which would explain why humanity would have still relied on conventional ballistic weapons well into the 2550's. Which, given the sheer amount of death and destruction caused by the demons, it's not too hard to imagine technological improvement would take a backseat to rebuilding and repopulation for a few centuries.
Also, a significant portion of standard issue as well as personal weaponry in the human arsenal still relied on ballistics. From what I can tell, the majority of the Doom Slayer's arsenal were ballistics weapons, with a couple plasma weapons, one of which was issued to special forces only and the other being an experimental weapon that wasn't mass produced. Both of which used Argent Energy or a derivative of it. With the flow of Argent Energy cut off or interrupted, due once again to the Doom Slayer, Humanity would once again have to rely on conventional and nuclear weapons for a good long while.
Not saying my hypothesis is 100% correct and I'm sure there's holes, but that's why it's a hypothesis and not a theory.
If it is accurate at all, the Doom Slayer would single handedly and simultaneously be the reason Spartans would exist four-ish centuries later and why it took that long in the first place.

So, apparently in this battle, you can overload marauder's shield which doesn't make sense because it's the same material that the crucible uses, if you could overload Marauder shields you'd be able to in-game but you can't, there's a clear distinction between the soldier shields and marauder shields. Also using that logic we could "Overload" Doom guys crucible, which doesn't make sense.
Then he says because chief has an energy shield that he can take a hit from what is essentially a crucible to the neck and it "Bounces off" first offense was comparing the crucible to an energy sword. They are not comparable in any way, Crucible far surpasses an energy sword in practically every fashion. And even if we put them in the same league does this mean if an Elite hit master chief in the neck with an energy sword it would also "Bounce off" if his shields were up? Because that's kinda stupid.
You're also implying Chief is faster than the Doom Slayer because the Marauder can't keep track of him when it can 100% keep track of Doom guy, even when he's using dash and double jumping, which I don't believe for a second because DOOM Guy was blessed by an angel and given godly powers, including speed. DOOM Guy without dash or any other way of movement moves at 49.5MPH Master Chief at his fastest was 65ish MPH, but then tore a part of his tendon. He would have to be sprinting the entire battle against The Marauder to keep up which eventually cause issues in his body.
Also the going back to something previously mentioned, Chief doesn't have a good enough arsenal to fight a Marauder. SMG's would not even phase a possessed let alone a Marauder. DOOM Guy's weakest weapon is comparable to a fully automatic, explosive, halo Sniper rifle, and that takes 2 shots to simply stumble a fodder demon. (That weapon is his assault rifle which fires flak 50 rounds) Chief would need to have DOOM Guy's Arsenal to make this a good fight, and even then he would not be able to properly use all the weapons that DOOM guy has, like the Balista and BFG which would knock him to his knees if he tried to fire either one of those 2, basically he'd have no way to really stumble a marauder unless he had DOOM's Arsenal
As for the Marauder getting slower while injured, I dunno if he would actually get any slower? In-game he doesn't tire no matter how critical the injury is, nor' does the DOOM Guy himself, also another point, the Marauder can react far quicker than any demon in hell being able to block balista and rocket launcher shots at close range almost instantly.

The Marauder as an enemy is far stronger and faster than any entity in Halo and it does feel like genuine ass pulls to give Chief a win here, maybe I'm just a DOOM fanboy but I'm not happy with the conclusion of this battle, in my opinion the battle was over when the Marauder hit Chief on the neck. If the crucible can cut through a baron of hell in one slice, It can 100% chop through anything the UNSC could dream of making.
I love this channel and I have enjoyed watching collabs and stuff like this, but this is easily the most unrealistic win I've seen for one of these discussions, but It's all in the name of good fun so nothing worth losing sleep over lol.
Spartans were known for much better feats than you'd usually see in the games. 80 miles an hour top speed, shielding that could take a missile from a jet, seeing everything in slow motion. He can lift around 3 tons, and only gets stronger with his upgrades in Halo 5 with thrusters and all. He would absolutely overpower the Marauder with precision combined with speed, as while the Marauder may or may not be more powerful (Spartans can bend 5 inch thick steel with ease) Chief simply has the better processing time for strategy along with being a lot more agile than the Slayer. It's like Rock Paper Scissors. Doomguy bears Chief, Chief beats Marauder, Marauder (almost) beats Doomguy.
Don't even fret dude. This video was totally set up for MC to win since he is a more "iconic" character than the Marauder, even though *lore* wise the Marauder is comparable to the Slayer. The fact that they said the Marauder would slow down and that his argent axe would bounce off the energy shield is ridiculous... They also got a lot of the lore on the Marauders and Night Sentinels wrong. The Slayer fought Sentinel prisoners in the arena, not "Night" Sentinels who were the elite warriors of the race. They didn't mention that the Night Sentinels would beat down the Doom Guy in their initial spars and would outrun him on their first expeditions to Hell (even though he surpassed them later on before the divination buff). They also completely leave out the fact that the Marauders were resurrected by the divination machine, the same that boosted the Slayer to godhood...

About strength, the Slayer is able to break apart steel with ease by just punching it, he's able to punch enormous blocks of either metal, steel, etc. with ease as well and even topple a crucified giant Agaddon hunter and the Marauder can stop a punch from him while being extremely injured. I think many people downplay demons, because even a lowly Imp is inhumanly strong. In the game, they are seen breaking out of walls that have metal structures, when they infight with zombiemen their blows literally cause shockwaves. It is stated that a single Pinky is able to flip armored vehicles and/or destroy them, they are even capable of taking out entire platoons and Pinkies are one of the lowest classes of demons.
In-game, the Marauder reacts so fast that he's able to put up his shield to stop the hit from a CLOSE RANGE super shotgun blast

Even when the Gravemind (the greatest flood form save for Key Minds) picks him up we can see Chief struggle for a moment before realizing its futile, on the other hand we all know that the Slayer would tear through that tentacle like tissue paper. The Flood are dangerous and would probably take over Earth much quicker than the demons, but they are much more preventable. The Flood in Halo 3 are stopped with a nuke whereas the Titans in Doom Eternal are impervious to all mundane weaponry, even nuclear bombs...

This actually makes sense when you look at it from a gameplay perspective. To beat the Marauder, a player needs good reflexes to exploit the openings it makes between attacks while evading everything it throws at you. Chief is basically a pro Doom Eternal player in that regard thanks to his reflexes.

Sorry but I have a huge problem with two things, 1 The Shield Gets Heavier. 2 The Axe Bounces Off The Shield. These two things don't happen in game, the shield just kinda stays there, and Chie's shield doesn't have the ability and strength to block the axe...

There's some wrong with the lore on the Marauder here. Firstly, the Doom Guy didn't fight Night Sentinels in the arena, he fought PoWs. The Night Sentinels are the "elite" of the Sentinel race, each one able to take on hordes of demons with a basic spear as mentioned in this video. The Doom Guy started training with them and actually couldn't keep up with them at first, but he gradually surpassed them. In fact they would kick his ass several times in sparring:
" as they witnessed the Stranger spar with their hall-masters they found
in him an undying, unrelenting compatriot. This man was an outlander,
friend to none, and yet rose each time he was thrown to the dirt of the
circle. Battered and bruised, his brow stained with blood, he rose with
grim determination for the chance to face his enemies in armed combat

The Marauders aren't "just" corrupted Night Sentinels, they were resurrected using the same divinity machine that boosted the Slayer to godhood:
"Resurrected by the Divinity Machine of Maykr design, these fallen
Sentinels were returned from the dead, transformed by Hell's power, and
recreated with a singular purpose: to hunt the Slayer"
Leaving gameplay aside (as players are now able to kill Marauders in seconds), lore-wise this means that the Marauders are about the equivalent of or slightly lesser than the Doom Slayer himself. Hugo Martin himself has said in interviews that the Slayer is like Obi Wan Kenobi and the Marauder is like Darth Maul, or Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris when compared to each other.
I also disagree with using "Spartan time" in this battle. What about "Marauder time"? If the Slayer has "power and speed to match his will" and the Marauder is arguably as dangerous as him, how exactly would the Marauder be slower than the Chief? Because there is no "Marauder time" in gameplay? But there's no "Spartan time" in Halo's gameplay? Also, the argent battle-axe "bounces" of Chief's energy shield whereas elite energy swords cuts through that shit like butter? Sorry mate, this battle is all over the place...

How does an energy blast from the axe deplete Chief's shields and fatally wound his chest whereas the axe itself, the very source of the same blast, "bounces" off? If a line needs to be drawn then why use all of Chief's greatest feats from the novels and falsely provide lore for the Marauder who is much more than a "corrupted" Night Sentinel when he is in fact comparable to the Slayer himself (who beats Chief in another hypothetical battle narrated by the very same content creator)? All I'm saying is that at least the lore should be correct and the feats chosen for the battle consistent...
@@smmk88 this usually applies to things like weapons. It's like how in game, when Arbiter needed to cut the cables, there were multiple energy swords lying on the ground. I know it's not chief, but I talking about the scenario, and Bungie likes to call that luck. Also, all the times in Halo when he was in a pelican and didn't get shot down, that was also Bungie saying chief was lucky. Chief has a mix of skill and luck, and usually that luck applies to him finding correct weapons, and him having the luck to survive random chance, like the Pelican scenario. I think it's noteworthy that in this battle, Chief not once manged to use a gun like the Spartan Laser, SPNKR or energy sword. This is why the luck argument really does not have too much of an impact, for all he used was an AR, BR, SMG and a plasma rifle. We can assume we carried two of those guns into battle, found a third at an armory somewhere, and the plasma rifle was on the ground as said on the video. So in this, luck wasn't as big of a factor as you might think. I think his greatest feat if luck, was his shields charging just on time to take the plasma axe
@@antondavidovic3996 and coming to think of it, maybe they thought of the electro magnetic shields. As said, when the wolf pounced, it was killed by the vented electricity. I think that's how it works. When breaking the shield, the shield exploded and released a force of electricity in order to push the axe back, which is why they use "bounce off" for a lack of a better term

One more thing, Cortana wouldn’t know who the marauder is as he is a fallen night sentinel, this means chief doesn’t know the marauder’s tactics, Cortana can pinpoint where the marauder is going to dash, but the marauder would dash too quickly for Cortana to cope
Yeah, at first. It only takes a couple of seconds to figure out it's strategies for Chief and Cortana. By the time they were predicting it's movements before it made them, the fight had been going for a short while and it had been dashing around.

Cortana is an AI. It would take seconds to figure out the moveset of a marauder for her once it does it's moves. Not that hard to figure out.
The Marauders reflexes are kinda inconsistent. He can react to a trigger pull at close range, though has trouble avoiding grenades. You can falter him while he’s swinging his axe, though he can stop himself mid-attack to block the Unmakyr. With that being said, I’m not sure who would really win here.

The constructed story of DOOM is honestly metal as hell and is beautiful in its own way. As well, Hidden, your ability and style of covering lore is superb. If you ask me, it's a natural expansion :D
I the only things that I disagree with the fight is that Argent Energy bouncing off Chiefs shield. Argent energy isn't your average video game plasma. It's about 6.70115666E^26 hotter than the core of our sun. So even if the shielding survives, the armor is going to resemble Styrofoam after being cut by 1000 degree knife (Or in this case, an axe).
Also The weapons the Chief use don't pack the same punch a weapon from Doom would have so hits on the Marauder wouldn't be as lethal as long as its not from a Spartan laser but the Marauders Shield takes care of that.

I've been playing Halo since I was 7 or 8 and is easily my favourite gaming franchise and have never really played any DOOM other than DOOM (2016) a tiny amount at a friend's place on PC, and know nothing about the DOOM franchise, but based off of what I've seen of the newer games and what was said about the Marauder in this video, I personally think the Marauder would win. I'm not just going to say Chief like a lot of people just because I want Chief to win. I mean, who doesn't love Chief? But I don't think he'd win.
Probably because most of the information regarding Spartans and John in particular, are from expanded universe material and not the games, the John vs Lock fight is an example of this.

I don’t think being able to kill the doom slayer in game should be considered a feat of strength. Basic demons can kill the slayer in a few melee hits. Doomslayers health gets low if he’s sneezed on in game.
That's game wise. He's talking Lore wise. Those piss poor demons cant do shit to doom slayer. The Maurader is literally made to beat doomslayer. He is CAPABLE of beating him. He is DEMON doomslayer. Maurader Vs any other demon in the game (exc. Icon of sin) would shit on them. That's why in ever single fucking battle encounter, you will never experience 2 mauraders at a time. NEVER.

Spartan S238 in game mechanics are not the same as lore capabilities. Obviously Imps are not able to kill the slayer. But considering the marauders were resurrected with the very same machine that gave the doom slayer his unlimited power, it is fair to say that the marauders at least have a chance at killing the slayer more so than almost any other enemy in the game alongside demons like the icon of sin. Also the marauders use crucible axes, which are similar to the slayers crucible sword in composition so it is within reason to say that the marauders would be capable of killing the slayer. But the slayer is just simply to skilled and powerful for them to actually do so. Regardless there is no way master chief would be able to outmaneuver an enemy such as the marauder when the marauder is capable of keeping up with the slayer

Under some circumstances Chief should take the victory. But I a bit disagree on Speed tho. The Maurader has way better combat speed and reaction timing.
It can sheild itself from Plasma fire, bullet shots, and Ballista fires, it can also no sell BFG shots. Not only that but it takes about 4 or 5 BFG shots to kill the Maurader.
The BFG 9000s is superior to the 2 megakelvin laser that didn't even scratch The Doomslayer's suit. And Chief ain't tanking above 2 megakelvin energy waves.
If anything the Plasma in the Halo Halo Universe =/= as the Argent Energy heat in the Doom-verse.
3,000 degrees Fahrenheit is the confirmed heat of Plasma in the Halo verse, and when converted to megakelvin it's about 0.00327 megakelvin.
And when reverse converting 2 megakelvin is about 3,599,540.33 degrees Fahrenheit. Literally 100x greater than the 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit in the Halo verse.
Assuming that the Maurader's axe is the same as a Plasma Sword from Halo is like me assuming that all Universes run on DC logic. The Axe is far superior in terms of how it's weilded, and the fact that Doom Plasma is literally hotter than Halo plasma.
The most struggle Chief will get would be on how the Maurader doesn't job in fights compared to most Covenant aliens. Not gonna lie Covenant Aliens don't job that much when in combat but some of them do when in comparison to Dooms Hell where the demons literally dog pile you the moment you're present.
The Maurader will keep coming at Chief.
The Maurader is the equivalent of a Sanghieli and a Brute in terms on how it fights. It has the ferocity, and thirst to fight similar to a Brute but it knows on how to efficiently weild weapons, and know when to attack like an Elite.
So if anything if Chief (*I use IF because the dude isn't gonna just stand there and take it) gets hit by the Maurader's Plasma and Argent energy waves. It'll just melt him into goop.
Like I said Chief ain't tanking 2 megakelvin.

Just one minor addition to Chief's strengths. He was chained from a child of six I think to he a weapon. This type of childhood training and dedication is an always overlooked part of the chiefs arsenal. Not only does he have those incredible reflexes and creativity and luck and spartan time, he's also got like beyond SAS level training. So he knows what to do with those stretched put seconds. I'm not explaining very well but just adding to your very entertaining video my modest opinion.

Thor's Hammer definitely, mjolnir armor ranks a class 2 on forerunner scale. Standard forerunner armor is class 12.
