the best investment and tip a new mum can make is buying a washing machine with a dryer instead of buying so much stuff for babies that grow so fast. My experience with kids is as much as i love shopping
1. Buy neutral colors for under six months. (white, Black or grey). They are going nowhere and laundry is a breeze
2. Don't buy many fancy items before. You will not use them. Guaranteed! and you end up with drawers and wardrobes full of new stuff that hasnt been used.
3. Spend that money on more stuff for yourself to make your transition easier. When your baby is crying or fussing you never remember the fancy stuff and then you just transition to your own hacks.
Invest that money on other things for the family of for that child's future.
Absolutely agree with you. I'm glad I bought things that I can use for the others to come.
A machine is a very good investment if one can afford it. It makes the work easy.
Also doing research will help you know what's necessary because baby shops will sell you everything. Having gone through the experience I know now that not everything is necessary some things we can do without. Furthermore ,most of the things we buy just becomes clutter. Thank you for sharing Mercy.

@Lucy Kabu true. What I've learnt is the money we spend during those 10months is enough to go to a supermarket and do an installment plan on 2 very key items to make life easy. Washing machine and freezer. That way we are not held hostage when we have those key chores of cooking and cleaning when domestic help is not available.
My time and rest and peace are valuable to make me a great mum.
I listened to so many conspiracies and theories from other ppl and I was miserable. As much as every person does them, some things are just common sense and I try to help my open minded friends on the same.
So I tell my friends if you can do one thing to make your first 3 months easier to go through is making sure laundry, food and basic cleaning are sorted without stress.
Planning early was a life saver for me.. by 7 months I had bought almost everything for the baby and packed my bag
True true planning early is where it's at. Especially that the last few months one can get very tired to even leave the house. You had really prepared. Mimi tusiongee about packing bags because I was caught unaware 😁 but I had a list so I put everything together fast

Iko kwa building ya vyombo. From the police station walk straight past the two big buildings, turn left and walk straight. Walk past hizo place zinauza plastic mpaka kule chini. The building facing you na imejaa vyombo hapo nje, uingie ndani kuna shops mingi za vyombo. Go with a pic asking them.
