The Kaiju's energy gauge can be reduced by hitting it with an attack, but no amount of attacks can defeat it simply by reducing it to zero. When the monster's energy gauge is reduced to zero with a punch or other attack, the word "FINISH" appears on the gauge, and victory is achieved by using the "Specium Ray," the maximum special move.
Both Ultraman and the monsters gradually regenerate their energy over time, but Ultraman's special move gauge accumulates over time. The Special Move Gauge is divided into four stages of 16 4x4 scales, and by moving the cursor to the move you want to use and pressing the Special Move button, you can use the gauge to perform a powerful Special Move. As mentioned above, the gauge must be built up to the maximum to use the "specium ray" to defeat the monster, and if the special move gauge is insufficient, the player must wait until the gauge is fully built up. You need to attack the monster again to reduce its strength to 0. If you use the specium ray when it is not FINISH or miss, you will lose a lot of time in order to build up the special move gauge again, and the rule also states that Ultraman will be defeated if the time limit of 3 minutes elapses. This makes for a tense and exciting battle[3]. When the remaining time limit is less than one minute and the color timer starts to sound, the Special Move Gauge accelerates to a maximum of four times its maximum accumulation time.
