Cooking is a form of alchemy, using temperatures, interacting ingredients, and formulas to change those ingredients from one thing to another. Among the Cherokee and other Indigenous people from Turtle Island (North America), the Great New Moon (Harvest Moon) was the beginning of our new year - all fires were put out and every hearth swept clean, every home tidied up and repairs made, all broken tools, pottery, etc., worn out clothes and shoes, and other things beyond repair were thrown into pits to be burned later, and the people fasted all day. As the day approached its end, everyone bathed and washed their hair, and then prepared by using ochre and paints on face and bodies, oiled and dressed their hair, put on new clothes made just for this occasion, and gathered in the council house. Once the last light of the day had departed, the new sacred fire was lit in the hearth, prayers of thanks and hope for the new year were offered, and everyone took a coal from the sacred fire to light the fires in their homes. Then the people danced, feasted, and celebrated. It was one of the few ceremonies where sacred corn beer was poured as libations (no drunkenness was allowed) of prosperity. Many of us still practice these old ways, and more are coming back to it.
Omgosh.......I recently labeled myself as a kitchen witch....I'm always baking...cooking.....and conjuring up something. I just created a sigil and am putting that on everything I can.... I feel at home in my very small kitchen that I designed. TY for all the information (new follower)....history.....and ideas to incorporate into my baking and kitchen. I feel like I just reached a new level.....I'm a newer witch in this lifetime.....but a more seasoned one in a past life 🧙♀️ Blessed Be 🙏🏻🪄✨️🥣🍞🍄🍪☕️
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. I remember a while back i emailed ya for a video on this and you never disappoint. Love the food options. Everything was on point, gave me so much motivation. Thank you again.
Great video 👍 The kitchen is definitely the heart and magical place in our home .I cook from scratch mostly since I was a kid in my grandmother gr8 grandmother kitchens and learn the craft of healthy healing soups breads teas made everything with love little magic in every stir of a wood spoon in old castrion Dutch ovens pans .never measured a hurb just a hand full or pinch of magic ✨ at 47yo still my favorite and magical place in the home I love being a kitchen with 💚a little bit of a green witch Samhain 🍂🎃coming make or bake something yummy to feed and heal the soul
Thank you for sharing about seasonal foods for the sabbats! Super simple way to celebrate that completely slipped over my head. When my personal life is very busy during various times of the year I struggle to figure out simple ways to celebrate the sabbats. Definitely going to use this idea now big thank you!!
I’ve really enjoyed your video! The kitchen is definitely the heart of my home. I do grow some of my own herbs. I love all of the recipe’s and the food ideas for sabbath. It’s definitely giving me some ideas. The both of you are fun to watch!
I am excited for this one since I cook from scratch just about every night. I would think that some of the witchy things that one might use for workings might be more, let's say "palatable" when you know how to cook well. Like Wormwood and it's intolerable bitterness. I just heard an NPR spot today on spices. One of the parts was discussing Paprika and the 3 kinds there are. It went into some interesting facts; some of which were, it comes mainly from bell peppers, (which blew my mind)and of course it's medicinal properties are amazing. Paprika prevents Cholera and Scurvy it's also a major anti-inflammatory.
This was a great reminder for me to add my intentions! I grow my own herbs and Love to cook. When I was a child, I followed my Grandmother in the kitchen and learned all the recipes brought from the Old Country. Its important to savor the gifts passed down through our Heritage. My magical spices come from Sweden and Germany. Now Im hungry! Those dishes were amazing!! Thanks Mannun❤
I Love to cook and always feel truly myself when I am cooking. For the longest I didnt know Kitchen witchery was a thing and once I learned about it I was like YEP that is me. I love ot create spice blends with intentions
Cooking/baking is my core passion. (Some culinary school too) i remember baking recipes my mother also did but everyone wanted me to it. Never understood why. When asked what my secret ingredient was, i was would say love the those eating and passion for the art. I started looking into KW about 2 years ago and it made sense. If i don’t feel good, my food is off. While if i do the same recipe with love and passion, it amazing. (The opinions of others, I’m always overcritical of my cooking). Food is love. I cook 2-3 meals a day from scratch. I don’t even have a microwave lol.
@@WitchNTheWorking no I haven’t. Can you pint me in a direction where I can? I do remember seeing a movie, I want to say like an after school thing on TV, when I was a kid. It was about a witch that made pancakes that made people happy. Yes, 40-some odd years later, it still sticks with me. Lol

Witchcraft, like many spiritual and esoteric practices, is powerful and should be approached with respect and understanding. While the comparison to a loaded gun highlights the potential dangers of misuse, it's essential to remember that Witchcraft's primary intent is not harm but understanding, connection, and empowerment. It's all about the intention behind the practice. Just as one should learn and respect the safety measures with a gun, one should also be educated and respectful when practicing Witchcraft.
Also my husband told me that most witches in history did bad things, it's the Priestesses that do what you do and called themselves Priestesses not witches
@@mistylawrence6944 I think you should start learning things for yourself and drawing your own conclusions, hehe. P.S. what your husband said is nonsense.
I did have a comment on here that involved science and was going to delete it because I made my own decision on it but it seems that it was deleted because i can't find it. Oh well
Anyway, I have 3 different figurens of Groot on a coffee table in the living room, close to each other and my husband says that it's a bad idea due to magic reasons and I don't understand how. Do you?
@WitchNTheWorking yes, the one from guardian's of The Galaxy, I have 3 different versions of him as a child, none of him being a teenager. Have you seen the movies? If you have you would know what I'm talking about
I know I'm late with the comment, but still. Those of us who are "at home" in the kitchen, who like to experiment or use alchemy, this video was a great joy and satisfaction for us... a kind of confirmation that everything we do is real. I prefer to create with medicinal herbs, I like to make different liqueurs and oils. Cleansers are also in my repertoire. I grow my own aloes and herbs, which I also dry myself. When there's time, I also collect them in nature... let it be enough so that no one will say that I'm bragging. And as I said before; food tastes better when it's cooked with love - it's that secret ingredient. Mannun, thanks again for the great video! 😉🪴🌺💚👩🍳=🧙♀

Very true. So much of our gatherings revolves around food and the kitchen. My Mom’s home was the same way at holidays and family birthdays.
These recipes for the sabbats are ON POINTE. I loved these selections so much that I'm definitely going to write them down!
I love to cook. Because of this video I can make food with magical intent.❤

Speaking of being a sacred space, with set up of my place, my altar is in the kitchen. Don’t have space in living room since my library takes up space

I know this is totally off topic but how do i get my pentagram pendant to work for me?
What do you want it to do?? Protection??
@@WitchNTheWorking Yes
@@WitchNTheWorking So do I have to put my intention into it?
Do a cleansing of the object. Then do a spell of protection, consecrating the symbol.
@gabrielleangelica1977 The problem is that I don't know of a protection spell that I can do. I've only ever done smudging
