2024 Games athlete - Jelle Hoste

Caught up with Jelle Hoste from Belgium. He finished 10th last year as a rookie and is excited to come back and attempt to climb the leaderboard.
We talked about his Judo background and how we picked rookie of the year last year.

Jelle’s question about taking height into consideration is the best question of the series. If you measure pure power output, taller people have to generate more power than shorter people on most lifts. I would love to see someone compare Hoste’s power output at this years games compared to an average height athlete. My money is on Hoste generating more, even if he does fewer reps or moves slower.

Jelle Hoste was the Rookie of the Year for last year in all our hearts. Everyone knows he should have *actually* been the Rookie of the Year.
Why is there a group of people that choose that? Is it not just the highest placing rookie?
