All these bigger machines hard to pick my favourite outta Cat, Doosan, Volvo, Kobelco AND now this but I cut my teeth learning on a Komatsu so this beauty is my favourite 👌🏻😍
Thanks for the compliment todd , im the operator , she was very unbalanced machine to be fair , it was a last minute buy for the company so came in quarry spec , needs a shorter stick and boom and a proper mass excavation bucket on her and some wider pads then she will really dig , she struggles on bad ground
All depends on the application. Alot of times wide pads are extremley hard on the undercarriage due to increased leverage and can lead to bending the pads themselves.. As long as you have a firm bottom narrow shoes are sometimes better. Quarry shovels and excavators will have the narrowest shoes available.

This operator is highly skilled and fast.....can hear the roar of the engine in high rev and he's killing it 👊👊👊

First thing I notice,those are some narrow pads on those tracks.Not good for such a heavy machine.

Depends on the material … no need for wider tracks in some cases
Komatsu excavator is not much good excavator because of its cab .
