From several Chileans I have heard similar comments as the one you make, yes. I should say that I did not readily notice it when I was there, but of course it was my first time there.
No habría imaginado que en Netherlands hubiese una calle con el nombre del Presidente Salvador Allende; eso sí, me llamó la atención las piedras "incas" que estaban junto a esa placa recordatoria, porque de seguro eso no proviene de Chile, sino de Perú. Saludos!
