I love their stuff but to me it just seems so over priced for the new Turret idk 499...Per camera seems hefty We just did an install in KY and put in 14 cameras on a farm and Personaly that camera would be great for some spots but also The AI Port....is...well lackluster imo They could work on getting the other ONVIF protocols to get it working better with 3rd party but they would rather get people to their camera systems
their new ai turret camera, although an improvement with sensor size, still doesn't compete when theres 4k 1/1.2inch sensors for half the price... and the AI port is basically a $200 wallet extraction if you want to use better priced/performance cameras, most of which have their own AI detection and onvif alerts...
@@russellharrison619 If you compare them to Axis, Avigilon, and Hanwha cameras (which are industry leaders in the analytics space: doing face detection, object detection, and LPR) $500 is cheap. The above mentioned usually run $400-500 baseline for a 1080p object recognition camera with 4k models often over $1k each. The Build quality is exceptional but obviously costly (with even the junction box often costing over $100 each). So Unifi is killing it. Though... Axis and the like often come with 5yr warranties vs Unifi's 2 yr (or less if you bought it from a reseller). And I've replaced Axis cameras (I'm a commercial camera tech) that were 15+ yrs old and just starting to have issues.
Love that the finger print scanner and NFC card reader have finally been enabled! Now only if you'd release a new deadbolt door lock to pair it with :)
The first version they released of the G4 Doorbell Pro had the fingerprint reader advertised all over the place. Then, they removed that feature from everywhere to the point that the 2nd version of the same camera did not include the sensor in the build (even though it looked like it did from the exterior). I remember watching vids of the dissamble where it showed they had removed the sensor. Now that they are coming with this feature again, are they planning on coming up with a new version of the same g4 doorbell pro? Or maybe they showed me wrong and they've always had the sensors in sleep mode..

That would be awesome. Something similar to the Ring car camera with cellular connection, cloud storage or integration with APN cellular network. And also powered by battery so it stays up all the time and able to be recharged when the car is powered on. And BTW, not only dashcam but an entire line of cameras for the car.. Imagine having your own CSVN in your car (including back and lateral cameras) that you can monitor anytime, anywhere
Underwhelming actually. For less money you can get a much more capable camera. The LPR only has 50 feet of IR whereas similarly priced cameras from other makers can reach well over 300' and have 30x+ zoom compared to 5x for the LPR. You're paying for the ecosystem. I'm guessing this LPR camera will be well north of $500.
@@fretbuzzly Well yeah, obviously. I built an OCR portal and LPR gate system for containers, there is much better equipment out there. But if you want the ease of the ecosystem then it's no contest.
Cannot wait for a UPS I currently have a 3000va so probably need two but if it could gracefully shut down all the UI equipment as well as maybe computers on the network that are plugged into it that is goat

This to me could be incredible to transfer my HIKVision if I can get LPR type functionality and connect everything through one portal. I've got multiple clients, and one on Unifi and a couple others on HIK, and let me say, every solution that uses HIK or some basic IP camera solution (Frigate/etc like) is GARBAGE in comparison to Unifi's solution. But HIK's cameras are absolutely solid, and so me of them, from varifocal to tight focus sometimes hit areas that UniFi does not market. Let me have the best of both and I'm with it
@@AeroPRfirst, it needs to be way smaller and thinner than the current g4.. Second the packages camera needs to be faster. 3rd the wifi version needs to have a better way to power up the device since usb c does not hold enough to maintain a firm connection (poe for the wifi version would be ideal instead of usb c)
Yeah it's pretty cool I mean they could easily just say no our cameras only they have plenty of API and home assistant types of functionalities it doesn't feel like a walt garden like Apple

The AI port is good but it would actually be better if they do all the AI processing in a centralized location like in the NVR or Unifi Dream machine.. Why would you like to install a brick next to each camera when you can actually receive all the feeds in the dream machine and do the image processing there?
I hope you consider bringing Knx or modbus support for compatibility with smart home devices for a secure wired home automation system. Plus it would be very nice if you made knx devices yourself, and smart electric panels like span or Schneider electric and have “smart knobs” with force fed back to control everything…
I'm begging you! Please make a battery powered "stick-up" style camera that can be mounted anywhere with an easily swappable rechargeable battery AND a 120volt Wi-Fi connected spotlight camera!
I'm not sure about Dahua, but the Hikvision would be much more powerful than the AI LPR. Much better IR distance and zoom capabilities. Also likely cheaper given that the new AI Turret is $500 without being LPR focused.

So, in this video, I took interest in the sensors. Got excited. Did some reading. The sensors require a Bluetooth-supported UniFi Access Point. Nothing in the U7 lineup points out Bluetooth. So now, I cant add one to my test lab (All U7 radios) to then sell to clients, unless they have U6 radios. And for the clients that have U6 radios and are using sensors. If they ever upgrade their radios, they lose the sensors on their system?! Am I missing something?

Take the AI Turret and the G5 Turret Ultra and moosh them together at under $200 w/o the facial recognition and you’ll have the perfect general surveillance IPCAM. And, please add duplicate realtime recording to an offsite appliance or NAS, even, if there’s a small delay because the onsite appliance is doing the work. This should be a high priority development. AI port, so they throw you a bone and allow third-party cameras, but they're not going to let you do anything with them unless you fork out the cash for their accessory. I bought an NVR pro for testing, but I'm going to sell it. I have too many cameras that would need either a transition to unify or the add-on. Either way, it would be price prohibitive.
Well, the use ONVIF and have just started allowing 3rd party cameras for viewing. None of the AI detection and motion events are handled by the NVR, it's all on the camera side, so I could see Unifi eventually allowing 3rd party AI cameras to integrate with the NVR. Coming from a full custom Blue Iris/Amcrest setup to Ubiquiti was painfully expensive but trouble free. I would welcome the ability to transition over to Ubiquiti without the giant up front cost of all of their hardware.
Now this is what we need. Ubiquiti is going to be the top camera manufacturer in the world!!!

Unifi is not meant for the home but is great for the home, hence why I dont see them ever producing in that direction.
We would love more black cameras to be released like maybe a black G5 PTZ and maybe a PTZ AI that's under a thousand

There is an AndroidTV app, which I use in my office for monitoring the cameras.
