I understand why Neca did what they did, but let's be serious, April and Casey should have been a two pack. Also, other than Ebay, I'm fairly certain I will never see this or the Casey two pack out in the wild.
its tolerable to acquire Bebop/RS, or Leatherhead/Slash 2 packs for $50, but not Hasbro's ML 2 pack for same price... no you're right, I did mention in another review, she looks like a Garfield toon/comic strip random female character. its not accurate to Tmnt series April.
@@AnthonysCustoms yeah, some..got Hulk/Wolvie 2 pack for $50 from Amazon's discount sale, that was worth it, & maybe one of the two figs make up for it, like Storm w/Tbird, or Pyro w/ Rogue...but mostly, Id wait for sale..got the entire Apocalypse, Galactus & Toybiz Sentinel Baf waves for 50 bucks each, so you know where Im coming from...
agreed, my targets are so bad w/ their stocks, i don't feel the slightest...if I was able to wait getting Bebop/RS, 8 mos after they're originally released , i can wait for lesser characters ...
Would be great to have an articulation explanation video about ankle joints. I often don’t know what you mean when you say an ankle pivot is good or bad for example, and your other video on articulation was great.
@@AnthonysCustoms it's almost a universal complaint in the toy websites I've seen. Although the fwoosh guys are saying it's more that the body is too small rather than the head is too big. I'd settle for a smaller prettier head.
No burnout for me- excited for Baxter/Splinter as well as the Android Body Krang coming out soon. TMNT part 2 was okay as a child, but doesn’t not hold a candle to the 1990 movie.
I got super lucky and found 2 of these at the same store. Grabbed one for myself, called a friend and grabbed the other for him. NEVER seen them again.
The SDCC 2019 April O'Neil prototype had a smaller head with a more neutral expression. The production head is way too big for me, but I think the facial expression is better. Not my favorite figure in the line but still a must have.
Nice April figure, but I do think the head is too big. The 1987 characters all looked the best in the first pilot episodes. Cool to see these show accurate figures. I'm collecting the movie figures, but I am sure my ten year old self would go crazy for these. I liked Secret of the Ozze. I did feel it was a bit of a bait and switch to not have Bebop and Rocksteady, but Jim Henson studios did an excellent job.
The only burnout that I’m feeling is constantly having to hunt these down online. Also, I feel like there aren’t a lot of essential characters left from the show that haven’t been made into a figure at this point. It feels like the cartoon line will probably move into more obscure characters after next year. I don’t feel the need to own every single figure in this line, especially from the later seasons.
Great words, However, there are still quite a bit of characters to go, and some of those obscure characters I remember fondly, the Punk frogs, the neutrinos , we haven’t even got mousers yet. not to mention talks of vehicles and new dioramas coming. I’m on this ride till I die. But your words are true , it would be so much better if the hunt wasn’t so bad.
you haven't found any? even previous waves?...my Targets are awful, but I still found Bebop/RS & Leatherhead during restocks..go for Fridays...on Saturdays, expect they're gone.
The aesthetic on this fig was a bummer for me. They nailed everything else from the show but April is a very important character who is in every episode and this fig needed to be taller with a smaller head. But in terms of the actual cartoon, the range for all the figs kind of works. If you re-watch the old cartoons (they are bad), the animations are so clunky! Stuff like tripping over wires and running head first into walls. Really limited athletic movement. So in a delightful way, the articulation matches the animations. Seeing as the SH Figuarts Gamora is going to cost me $110 after shipping, I'm happy with this for $26 (or 2 figs for 52).
Well this isn't a good two pack it's an ok two pack with bad articualtion. The head on April is actually worse then the prototipe one and I can't understand why. Thanks for the review Anthony.
Oh I saw it but thought you only deleted sub zero and scorpion reviews only. Do you have any plans on reviewing more recent Dc Multiverse figures? I think they improved a lot but still make some stupid decisions and the height between some figures is a big issue
Yes, I'll be reviewing more. I'm just not going all in so I'm only picking and choosing. And I can only review what I buy so I can't say which ones for sure.
Definitely burnt out on NECA Turtles. Passing on Triceratons and Rock Soldiers, regret pre-ordering Slash/Leatherhead, and hoping to get out the game after Rat King/Verne, Splinter/Baxter and Android Krang.
I have the other neca turtles figures, and I would really like an April, but this is just too bad. The head is way too big, this is not cartoonaccurate at all. I am not going to buy this, putting this in my collection would make my neca turtle collection look cheap and stupid. What also is a pity, is that this complaint is all over the internet, neca should send or include a new headsculpt in the next wave, like other companies do, they should listen to the fans. Like Fanstoys and Xtransbots (yes I know, those are transformers), they listen to the fans and made some new headsculpts off the bad ones, they included the new headsculpts with other upcoming figures, so they will not even take a big loss.
Well the problem with that is that fanstoys and xtransbots are high end, low production companies that survive off the trust of their customers,. Neca on the other hand is a mass retail company that has no such obligations, just a need to please retailers, not unlike mcfarlane toys, but not quite on the caliber of Hasbro. If they do a better head April, it'll be a full re-release that customers will have to buy just for a new head, and likely other slight changes.
I think it's hit or miss with this set. My April doesn't have stuck joints and way better black line-work on her legs. She does however like to pop apart at the mid-rif, but it pops back in place very easy. Oh and tmnt II is good, I think. I recently saw a video about it's first draft where that proffesor-guy is an utrom, revealed at the end of the movie and the story would conclude in movie III, instead off that weird time-travel, Casey Jones wasting crap-basket we eventually got.
Gettin tired of all these Neca Turtle figures lol. Not that they're bad, I just see em all the time now. Should focus more on QC (especially those stuck joints and hips) and less on pumping these guys out. Looks cool for the most part, though, just know Neca could do better... and I'm getting sick of seeing a new one everyday.
Id buy a custom head for April
I understand why Neca did what they did, but let's be serious, April and Casey should have been a two pack. Also, other than Ebay, I'm fairly certain I will never see this or the Casey two pack out in the wild.
It’s a money thing
True, we have enough Foot Soldiers already.
I managed to find em at EB games but yeah they’re limited and I’ve never seen the turtles themselves anywhere
Would have preferred the prototype head over Big Head Mode April.
Turtle burnout is a myth.

April's head proportions are completely off. They had a better ratio during prototype stage and somehow fucked up.
That April Helmet...I mean head is questionable..

I still don't have Donatello sadly

I would like a video of Anthony explaining anything about articulation in excruciating detail.
Would u consider making a better April head like ur wolverine and beast heads?
I don't know if there is enough interest to warrant the effort.
@@AnthonysCustoms Damn, I would buy. The goddamn head on this just bums me out every time I look at mine.

it's not her head that needed to be big.

The hamster statue is from the season 3 episode The Maltese Hamster.

LOVING these reviews!! Keep’m cominf!!
April O’Neal figure is way off. In the Cartoon she’s Tall and she’s busty and her head isn’t bigger than her body.
I'm pretty sure Shredder and Krang's android body are the only characters on that show taller than her.
