নজরুল ইসলাম খান ১৯৭০-এর দশকে শ্রমিক আন্দোলনের একজন সক্রিয় কর্মী ছিলেন। ১৯৭০ সালে তিনি তৎকালীন পাকিস্তান মেশিন টুলস কারখানার (বর্তমান বাংলাদেশ মেশিন টুলস ফ্যাক্টরী) শ্রমিক ইউনিয়নের সভাপতি ছিলেন।[৩] বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের প্রাক্কালে ১৯৭১ সালের মার্চে গাজীপুরের জয়দেবপুরে সর্বদলীয় মুক্তিসংগ্রাম পরিষদ গঠিত হলে মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয়ের দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্ত মন্ত্রী আ. ক. ম. মোজাম্মেল হক আহ্বায়ক ও তিনি কোষাধ্যক্ষ হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন। তথ্য সূত্র উইকিপিডিয়া।

উনি আমাদের স্কুলে শিক্ষক ছিলেন। উনাকে মিথ্যা প্রেমের উপবাদ দিয়ে তাড়ানো হয়েছিল বলে আমি শুনেছি। উনাকে তোমাকে খুব জোর করে এলাকা থেকে বিতাড়িত করা হয়েছিল। উনি ভালো বাঁশি বাজাতে পারেন। উনার বাঁশির সুর নাকি আমাদের এলাকার মিয়া বাড়ির একজন মেয়ে তার প্রেমে পড়েছিল।সে অপবাদে তাকে গ্রামছাড়া করা হয়েছিল, বলে আমি শুনেছি
