2014 Mercedes Benz GL450 Auxiliary Battery replacement , under $20

I was getting the "Auxillary Battery Malfunction" warning from time to time while driving 2014 Mercedes GL450. Did some research online and found that replacing this battery was quite easy. This video shows the process.
Tools Needed:
flat head screwdriver
10mm socket wrench w/extension

thanks for the video, lane keep assist, blind side warning and turn signals go out. Dealer says it's starter battery, others have said it's the aux battery now I'm confused. Advice?

It is a support battery for car electronics. I think the main battery won't be able to support the electronics while it is used to crank the engine running.

It held up well all the way up til i sold the car last may

Would this effect the sunroof and seat from operating correctly if it going out and needs replacing

Not too sure about that...all i remember getting was the warning and wondering what it meant...it never gave me any other problems after changing. I just sold the car about a month ago

no comments on the purpose of the aux battery.. preserve the data if you replace the main battery i believe. that car contains a programmable module for every thing you can think of so losing setup when you work on power is the norm. you should be happy the car starts.
