I said the same thing, and am caught up now. It definitely sucks, and there are days I am stuck on the same part (fuck you sniper jackals). But if you watch the tips he gives, it's a pretty straightforward experience. After a while you'll learn the level/spawns and just rush through yourself. I'd definitely start with besting legendary under 3 hours though to get practice and learn the levels, a lot of similar strategies are used between the two. I'm just hoping to get this done and never have to think about doing it again. Source: I have more D thank K in my KD, and am only Rank 2 on MP. A crowning achievement was me finishing first in a matchmade game. I suck, it just takes practice and repetition.
@@True2ChainzLilWayne not true, that's because of the checkpoint sharing exploit that was in mcc for years which let you get the achievement even though you didn't do the whole game on laso. No exploit of that caliber exists for the speedrunning achievements
I'm sure you've heard this a lot but the strategies for completing these levels are just incredible. I dont think I'll ever attempt LASO (I mean maybe I will since these guides make it look a lot more doable) but just seeing what you do for each mission is really entertaining. Keep at it! The butterfly jumping in the grav lift was one of the hardest things to get down in all of LASO across all Halo games. The only thing close to it was maybe getting the gun behind the door and bubble shield jumping out of the map at the end of Reach
Good news and bad news. The bad is you're only 1/13th of the way there. The good is Cairo Station is one of the hardest missions so you're done with that noise!
Small thing but for future laso guides is their any way in post to just put a small dot where the reticle would be It would help when judgeing where we need to look to grenade and rocket jump
Not for setting my reticle I already do that I'm saying for his more specific tricks where it's like move the reticle here and throw a grenade for a jump. Like if he did the Keyes bump we would need a reticle to line up to make the trick.
For the first part, my partner and I didn't do any fancy platforming, we just cleared the room. It's just easier that way in co-op for us. Once the enemies were all dead, we beat down the nearby Flood corpses for shielding (with the rocket launcher which I kept for later) and moved on. I used the rocket launcher later on mostly to knock that last group of Flood in the Drone room into the pit. My partner went up, lured them out for me, and I shot the two shots I had to knock them out of the way. Worked like a charm even though I thought I messed it up. We didn't bother with the brute shot for scaling over the next part. Or my partner grabbed it and used it to keep up, maybe, but I just used a plasma grenade to get over that bit and then restocked on shields with the abundance of blobs later (lost my shield and nearly died by getting shot, but made it through well enough that I'd say you could probably do it too, if you're reading this and don't have one). Then I didn't follow over the next bit because I didn't want to accidentally plasma my overeager partner and then I couldn't really catch up. Which is fine, because the next room was better solo, to avoid getting caught. Once he got into the elevator and made his way up it was pretty simple to deal with. Didn't have anything to snipe the Jackal with, so I just revealed one of the nearby Flood for it to fight and my partner wound up sniping it (guess he kept a beam rifle). From the top, you're not in much danger and can walk straight to the end of the level without even being shot at if you're lucky like me. Compared to what we've dealt with in the past, this was nothing. The next level might be a pain, though... we'll see.
What’s funny is that the bug from vista and now mcc, helps you. The bug being the carrier forms scripts failing to make them drop further from the pelican, decent stroke I’d say.
Just finished Gravemind and Uprising in the same day, going to run the last 2 tomorrow and be onto Halo CE to finish the MCC (Besides multi-player achievements)

I've been begging 343 to add in 4 player Coop to CEA and 2A campaigns now because of the other Halo campaigns in the collection, which allows 4 player Coop (Reach, 3, ODST, 4). I know it might be unbalanced but I think it would be worth doing it now to experience the whole collection with 4 people. Even Halo 5 (and assuming Infinite) supports 4 player online Coop as well.
Halo Completitionist I saw a world record video about this mission. The guy flies with a combat form by continuously punching it till the end of the mission. I don't understand how to do it. Wouldn't that method, though, be faster (mission completion in 1 minute) and a cool skill to show off?
It's very difficult to master so not really worth it unless you're going for a world record speedrun. This mission isn't too difficult anyway and I wanted as many people to get through as possible.
That's a tough trick to master. Figured it's easier for most people to just play through the level. The level itself isnt too tough and is fairly short.

actually they were just hiding there, couldnt get a shot at them at the first platform but you can shoot them without getting to close on their own platform, there's only 3
Didn't use that cause it's not that easy lol. I know the skip but this level isn't very difficult so it's not really worth learning that skip for the average player.
Shadow wo1f05 I spent 3 hours trying to do that skip and only got close twice while doing monopolized. Ended up just speed running through it way below par time
Halo Completionist but there’s a skull in halo 2 that swaps out the flashlight for camo and that’s usually on when you play LASO because its an OG halo 2 skull.

More people have beat halo 2 laso than beat it under 3 hours probably because of how long gravemind and regret take alone.

I beat H2 on vanilla legendary and now H3 feels like heroic because of the broken difficulty
Halo 3 legendary feels like normal with the anger skull and thunderstorm skull(basically any skull that boosts enemy stats by a little)
After playing Halo 2 LASO, vanilla Legendary feels easy just because of recharging shields LOL
I had two sniper flood forms spawn in the room at 5.30! So glad to have even made it this far.
Uprising and High Charity went so fast compared to Gravemind, thanks again man.

Go into a custom game, grab a sniper, mark on your TV with tape or something where the retical is

H2 and CE weren't built for 4 player co-op, 4 player co-op would change things too much and prob break the game

It's possible, but not worth it to learn. It's pretty difficult, easier to just go through the mission if you don't already know the trick.

You only have camo when you're playing as the Arbiter. When you're the Master Chief you only have a flashlight.
Halo Completionist but there’s a skull in halo 2 that swaps out the flashlight for camo and that’s usually on when you play LASO because its an OG halo 2 skull.
The H2 LASO playlist in MCC has all the original skulls minus Envy (the skull that gives MC camo).
