Moscatel is a grape for white wine, some are made sweet and some dry but always a very floral and fruity and ripe spectrum..... Greetings from Argentina...!!
A couple of years ago I got a bottle to this whisky, I think it was from the 2004 vintage. I loved it. I barely noticed the moscatel wine (which is one of my favorite fortified wines) but I think the wine “tempered” the peat with an excellent result.
Right now Caol Ila's visitor center is closed for renovations, there are a bunch of Caol Ila things (bottles, merch, ...) at Lagavulin distillery however, since they're both part of Diageo.
That's see good knowledge brother :)
Muscatel is one of my favorite white wines. It is very fruity. I would expect It would impart a distinct raisin note.
Nice! I have the 2006 bottles in 2018. I bought it to celebrate milestones through my son’s life because he was born in 2006.
The first glass I had of Caol Ila was ~15years ago and it has already changed quite a bit. It used to much more balanced with the distillate character the lemony maltiness would really shine along with the pepper. Now it's just wood bitter and smoke :(

I'm the one that put a negative review on this video...because you didn't mention the Moscatel white wine from Setubal, south of Lisbon, Portugal. Shame on you!😁😁 There are also in Spain and a few other countries, but as I'm Portuguese I'm referring to the sweet and mellow grapes of this beautiful place in Portugal. Regarding this whisky, is one of my favorites. I prefer moscatel or Madeira mixed with peated whiskies than "old" ones like Port or Sherry, matter of personal taste. Cheers!
