The only wrong things they did in the musical was beg for Veronica to adult hug them both when singing “Blue” (Unlike what most people say they aren’t rxpists, they never tried to touch her without consent) and perpetuate the rumors that Heather Duke started in “Blue (reprise)”. They aren’t good people but they aren’t the worst and they definitely didn’t deserve to die (Same for Heather Chandler)

I love how positive you are. I always feel bad when I see people commenting rude things about the performers themselves. I mean, its high school. I was in some productions in high school and I cant dance (or act lol) for the life of me but it was all in good fun.

So I've seen a few other reaction videos to this show, and yours is definitely one of the best. I feel really awkward whenever I see someone tear down an amateur production of a show. Of course people are going to be off-key and choreography is going to be a little out of sync. These kids _aren't_ professionals. They aren't _trying_ to be professionals. They're just having some fun, and in most cases the only people in the audience are family members and friends. AKA people who don't really give a damn about quality. And usually the video was only made for the actors themselves to have something for nostalgia later. It's not a show for the audience, it's a show for the performers and everyone who saw it live knew that. Let them have their fun.
Runzhi Zhou honestly, that's fair. I just see some people really tearing into these young high school kids and a lot of time the criticism goes to far. Keep in mind, I'm a person who really enjoys so-bad-it's-good. I read all the twilight books for parody purposes and have spent hours upon hours reading chapter-by-chapter deconstructions of "bad" stories. But the way people tear into some of these amateur productions? I dunno, it goes too far in my opinion. I mean, they are terrible. And this production deserves some flack for being an illegal presentation of the play. And they definitely were not skilled enough to perform it well. But is that really the kids' faults?

ugh for real! im seeing a real surge of people ripping into high school productions recently and people just making fun of kids that are doing their best, and i hate it so much like why would you just be needlessly negative about other people who are just trying to have fun like that
I love how you’re so positive, I wish everybody had your outlook on life. I loved Chandler and Fleming and, like you said, the costumes were amazing for a low-budget show
I said this on Amy's video too, but you both are incredibly fair to the actors, the tech, and the directors. I've seen people ( friends included ) rip this entire production to shreds but it's so nice to see you be fair to the cast & crew of the show. Seriously, there's a LOT of positivity needed in the theatre world ( I literally DROPPED OUT OF AMDA because of the lack thereof ) and seeing people like you be so fair and so kind is great.

AMDA is a very... Particular school. It works for some people and does NOT work for some. I was unfortunately in the lump that it didn't work for. They do amazing work but it really isn't for the faint of heart. If you have any questions about my personal experience, I'm totally cool with answering them privately through e-mail or something!!

Hi Kath! My school is actually doing the High School Edition of Heathers in early March! I am playing Heather Duke and a bunch of my friends are in the show too! It's a great alternative to the original edition and, as a fan of the original off-broadway production, it suits our school really well! We were allowed to make a few changes back to the original script, since some of the line changes didn't have the same flow as it did in the original, but overall it is a great show! On another note, I love theater thursday vids and they always make my day! :)
Love this video! You’re right the costumes were actually pretty good. I feel like the director chose heathers because of its popularity and was hoping to bring kids into the program or draw in audiences. I doubt they considered the fact that it’s a extremely hard show (vocally) with mature themes. They overwhelmed the students with the material and then tried to censor it when they actually read the script probably. They should have waited for the school edition of chose a jr version of an easier show to help their performers have fun and grow as artists. I hope these kids find a program that takes into consideration their needs and helps them grow.

Hi Kath! My school is actually doing the High School Edition of Heathers in early March! I am playing Heather Duke and a bunch of my friends are in the show too! It's a great alternative to the original edition and, as a fan of the original off-broadway production, it suits our school really well! We were allowed to make a few changes back to the original script, since some of the line changes didn't have the same flow as it did in the original, but overall it is a great show! On another note, I love theater thursday vids and they always make my day! :)

Love this video! You’re right the costumes were actually pretty good. I feel like the director chose heathers because of its popularity and was hoping to bring kids into the program or draw in audiences. I doubt they considered the fact that it’s a extremely hard show (vocally) with mature themes. They overwhelmed the students with the material and then tried to censor it when they actually read the script probably. They should have waited for the school edition of chose a jr version of an easier show to help their performers have fun and grow as artists. I hope these kids find a program that takes into consideration their needs and helps them grow.
