  • Whole Latte Love presents the Expobar Office Lever Espresso Machine.
    The Expobar Office Lever espresso machines is a welcome addition to the Expobar line. Its traditional styling, compact size, and commercial strength make this a leading competitor in the semi-automatic lever operated espresso machines. The commercial style copper boiler has all the features that are found on larger commercial machines. It allows simultaneous brewing and steaming, enabling smooth operation. It has both a steam wand and hot water dispensing wand that adjust laterally so that they can swing in either direction for easy access. With commercial capabilities its size makes it convenient for those who want great espresso without sacrificing a large amount of counter space. It is 15" tall, 10.25" wide and 17.5" deep. The E61 brew group provides pre-infusion and a thermal siphon for maximum temperature stability and aroma extraction. The eye catching highly polished steel housing is as durable as is it beautiful. The accessories include a chrome plated brass portafilter, tamper, single shot filter basket, double shot filter basket, backflush disc and a 7 gram coffee scoop.

      Hi MM, Thanks for the comment! If you love that one you're gonna go crazy for this one: th-cam.com/video/xmSHw1Fudpg/w-d-xo.html
      It's a video going through all the parts of a prosumer level dual boiler machine shown using a machine with all the parts cut open so you can really see how they function.

    While rotary pumps are often associated with high end machines, they are not exclusively required to plumb a machine in. In many cases, the sheer size of a rotary pump makes plumbing it in the only viable option, as the need to fit a large pump into a compact frame will make adding a water tank (and the necessary valves and plumbing) difficult, costly, or some combination of both. Benefits of a rotary pump: low volume while pumping; resistance to pressure blow-by; stable & even pressure profile.

    Just bought one (in South Australia) your video showing the inards confirms we made a wise purchase. These are really good machines compared to the 'domestic appliance' type we had previously.

    This is usually a sign of the switch behind the brew lever being stuck down. There should be a little metal pin with a roller wheel pressing against the lever from the faceplate of the machine. Make sure it's not stuck in. If it is, try gently pulling it back out.

    I am having trouble with my brew pressure gauge on my Expobar Office Lever, it is staying up at 10 and making a continuous humming sounds. Is there any way you could help me?

    I have owned one of these machines for 3 years and love it. I am a little confused by the flush cleaning process. It would be nice if you demonstrated this. In particular, is there a role for the "half way down" position of the flush lever in retaining cleaning agent in the system when doing this? Or should you always move the lever all the way down. I have heard that it can be bad for the machine to stop half way, but I can't think of any other reason for having a mid-way stop position.

      @Wholelattelovepage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Weston Hi Paul, You should always move the level all the way down. The half way position plays no role in the backflushing process. The half way position partially opens valves in the E61 group before turning the pump on. Its purpose is to allow for line-pressure pre-infusion in plumbed machines.

    I wasn't able to switch the knob to water reservoir while doing an espresso shot, will it damage the machine? Thanks for the video, I just adjusted the knob after watching the video. Hopefully everything is fine.

    Whole Latte Love Hello! Can you give me a brief explanation of the difference between the lever and control? Also, it seems like this is the best machine for the price that lets you brew and stream at the same time?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Greco Expobar machines are a good value. Built very well, they are solid and reliable. They lack some of the case finish details of more expensive prosumer machines. Big difference between the two machines is the Control has programmable volumes while the Lever has a lever to start and stop your shots. Control has some plastic on the front panel as well as the drip tray. Hope that helps.

    Would you be so kind to help me out? I just purchased a used Expobar Mini with the Grinder. It is 1 group with water line and waste line. My question is: When you do the back-flushing with the espresso cleaner, does that clean your boiler tank as well? Not sure how to get the deposits out of the boiler? Thanks so much!

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +David S Hi David, Great question. Backflusing does not clean/descale the boiler. Are you in the U.S.? Don't think the mini is sold here.

    Hi Guys! DO you think this cute machine could make 40 -70 Cafe lattes a day? I know that there are other larger single group that I could opt to but i just really love the look of this machine. Thanks

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi AMC, Really depends on how fast you want to get those 40-70 out. Equally over say 12 hours - not a problem.

    • @andrewmarvi

      Thanks! How about under 10 hours? Or would it simply be better if I get the Expobar New Elegance MiniCon 1G?

      Aren't we just talking about steamer recovery time? Auto water refill right? So a minute between lattes?

    Expobar office lever or ASTRA gourmet semi automatic? Which do you prefer? Please notice this! Thank you i would really appreciate it!

      Hi RS, I can't speak to the Astra as I have not used. I'd be happy to give my thoughts and compare specs if you provide a link to the specific Astra machine you are considering.

    How long does this machine take to get to brew temperature? How do you know when it’s at the correct temperature?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Will, Thanks for the question. Machines with E61 groups should be allowed to warmup for at least 25 minutes before first use. Warmup time can be accelerated a bit by running a few blank shots.

    How much coffee the expobar double-shot filter basket can contain? (Maximum)

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi HK, Thanks for the question. It's ~18g. But depends a bit on the coffee. High altitude coffees tend to be more dense so a bit more for those. While lower grade coffee and darker roast are less dense so less of that type. Key thing in determining dose level is to never see an impression of the shower screen in the puck after an extraction. If you do reduce the dose weight. Hope that helps!

    hi can i use this machine in a small and new coffee shop? Maybe 150 shots per day or which machine do you recommend? Thank you

    • @stayahsome
      @stayahsome 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have two machines side by side. the problem i find is that I need one for steaming and the other for the actual pull of the espresso or else it wont give me the pressure I need. so to start i think its an economically great start, however you will need to upgrade.
