- For a small little area in Southwest Iowa, this sure was a great camping experience! Such a quiet little town, that offers electric, water and a great restroom. We cook an old Steve Wallis favorite, Onion Burgers! Appreciate you stopping by!
You can find me on X, Threads, Instagram and Facebook at:

Seems like in all those small towns the hospitality is off the charts.. great onion burgs
No kidding. The person I had talked with was super nice
Solid camp! Gotta love those small hidden places. All the peace and quiet you need for a good camp! Good looking burgs! Good show brother!
Thanks Cheffen! Definitely appreciate the quiet
Cool place! I love tree-covered paths. Nice to see the girls, too.
The doggos do so much better when the heat is gone! They will be in the next couple episodes!
Dude, those burgers looked amazing!
It was a great combination! The onion soup and beef work great together
That burg looked delicious!
Thanks! I’m glad I cooked it! Was really good
Another good camp Dave!
Thank you! Appreciate you watching
Great video, Dave. Glad to see you are picking up new subscribers, constantly putting out videos helps with google picking up your videos. Costco angus burgers are the best!
Thanks! Those burgers really are good. We always have a sleeve of them in the freezer. I just absolutely love to camp. It’s kind of cool that I found it later in life, and I have some time to get out and enjoy the outdoors. It’s a good place to be.
You just passed me southbound on the 29 north of Omaha. Saw your channel sticker
I drive for Smith Trucking in Worthington Minnesota
That’s awesome! Really appreciate you reaching out! I-29 was an easy drive today. I hope your travels are uneventful!!
Greetings from Missouri Valley IA! Nice little campground Dave.
Love the Wabash Trace, done a little bike riding on it, I
need to get back to it.
Thanks for featuring SW Iowa, looking forward to more.
Greetings! 👋 Really appreciate you watching!
Dave, I would of come by for one of those burgers, I actually think I could smell them from my deck, (here in Clarinda) LoL did made me hungry.. We are spoiled in this area with the many quiet little gems indeed... I actually have done the trek down the trace from Council Bluffs (bike camped) good memories.. You have beautiful well behaved dogs!!!
Love your vids and look forward to the next!!
You could definitely smell them! That's awesome you have done that full ride. For the cost, it's hard to beat Southwest Iowa for great spots. I need to get back down to Ross Park!
Nice video
Thank you!!
❤❤❤
🙏
Hey Dave 😊 - really loved this one . The cooking was awesome and really liked the walk through of process and camera work . Your dogs eat different food and each one leaves the others food alone ? The history of this spot would be a place I would stop and enjoy as well . The train tracks make me wonder what this place looked like back in the day . Thanks 👍
Thanks Rick! They are really chill about eating together. Never had an issue with any of that. I'm guessing Coin had to be a pretty cool place back in the day! I looked up some history on it, it was a rocking town for a little while. Thank you for watching!!
@@vancamp402 I found a few old post cards online - looks like a cool train stop back in the day . Thanks again 👍
That’s cool
I’m glad you are finding the Google maps info helpful. Iowa has a lot of smaller places and perhaps smaller adventures to offer, but some great opportunities closer to home.
Have you seen the cg in Imogene? The town is even smaller, there’s a bar&grill close by and the bathrooms are in a repurposed grain bin.
The Wabash Trace is a great rail trail!
I drove through there about a month ago. But I couldn’t tell if it was a campground or not! Greatly appreciate your reviews!
@@vancamp402 It's perhaps more of a place to camp for a night or two than a campground. It's got bathrooms & showers, nice tent camping (or perhaps hammock camping ) in the trees and even a pedestal w/ 50?30/20A electric hookups.
The church in Imogene was really beautiful. Crazy little town!
I live very close to Coin and now that I’m retired spend a lot of time and effort off grid camping and traveling. I have visited many of Missouri’s Conservation Areas that have free camping with various other amenities. I avoid Iowa and Midwest in general during the warm seasons because I don’t have air conditioning in my teardrop camper. Have heating. I head for high altitudes during the warmer seasons. How did you survive the heat and humidity?
This summer was honestly my worst for dealing with the heat. The last couple of years I have tried portable air conditioners, and stuff, they just don’t work in a van. This year, I just basically relied on having electricity, so that I could have a couple of fans running constantly. The Midwest really does have some incredible camping! Thank you so much for watching.
