We chatted in the band room when I was bringing him his drinks.( was a lot) He was sitting in nothing but a jock strap and wreaked of whiskey or what ever. He was actually really cool. Nice even. Till he got on stage and grabbed me from the floor. Everyone thought it was part of the show. After I tried to hurt him back . He smiled at me and told me almost in his own way he was sorry.
I think when he hit the stage he changed into his gimmick, he was running on pure adrenaline but I still think that somewhere in the recesses of his mind he still could comprehend.

People see too much of their idols as that image they see on stage but fail to see them as who they really are. GG seems like a good guy here. Calm and sedate.
I don't know for sure what GG's fate was after he departed but I will say this with certainty....I know for a fact the gum he is chewing went to heaven....because he has already chewed the hell out of it....he is speeding 100mph and breaking sound barrier at those speeds.
Towards the end of his life, GG became his stage character at all times, check out interviews with Merl and he'll tell ya in his own words. In the end, gg only cared about gg and that was it!! And he wasn't afraid to tell that to anyone who wanted to hang out and follow him.

Would've loved to meet him in what I think is the golden ages, mid-way through his career where he still had his crazy antics but according to those around him was still a chilled guy off stage.

6 weeks prior to his of me and 4 friends went to his show in Chicago. I got hit with sh*t and the 5 of us did a mini riot after the show...
