I really liked your perspective on this. I definitely think that everyone is a good cast except for Sanji being an unknown right now for me. Luffy, Zoro, and Usopp definitely have good potential, and you couldn't get a better Nami.

As someone who is not thrilled about this project, I am actually pretty impressed with the casting. It seems like about as good as they could have done. But personally, I can't even watch anime in English without cringing so I'm doubtful I'll be able to enjoy this. Regardless, I of course hope it does the series and the fans justice, but I also kind of wish this live action never existed.
Have you ever once thought about why that is? Cuz I'm the same way. With the exception of old anime I watched as a kid dubbed like fma, cowboy bebop and yu yu hakusho(all 3 are universally accepted as having better dubs than subs), i cannot watch new anime dubbed without cringing 98% of the time yet i can watch something like avatar or rick and morty in english no prob. Shits weird.
@@NRG-REC I'm really not sure what it is. I want to like dubs so that I can watch more anime while doing other things on the computer or whatever. But every time I've started one I can't get past the first 5 minutes. Somehow it seems so forced and unnatural. English cartoons are fine, but english dubs just don't do it for me. Of course I grew up on Toonami like a lot of people did so I had DBZ and Pokemon in English, but once I hit my teens and actually got into to anime I could never stand the dubs.
I guess they can pull off the language nuances, but they have to be really meticulous about all the translations they do. I mean not everything should be translated right? Say for example the technique names could be kept as it is because most of them are not Japanese words. But they should keep the authenticity of the races of the characters. Like Zoro's technique names should never be translated to English because he's Japanese. same with Sanji's that are in french. Somehow I can see how they can pull off the live-action. That is by taking how say Marvel and DC's take in making their movies. Or like how Harry Potter series was also made in movies. I mean the production should realize that making live-action films/series does not necessarily mean just translating all scenes in the anime/manga and copy-pasting the color theme and the overall vibe. I guess they should focus on properly portraying the characters and capturing the essence of the story by telling the story in the lenses of real-world context and movie-making, not in drawing cartoon/anime like how all the failed live-action films did.
IMDb has the names of the first 10 episodes and it is the east blue saga starts at Romance Dawn and episode 10 is called the Grand Line, I’m still skeptical about how good it’s going to be but I’m also super excited by how Oda seems to be backing it and how much money that are putting towards the show I’m still worried about how the graphics will look for some of the powers, luffys stretching and buggy’s separating
IMDB isn't trustworthy though, many people kept putting false castings and episode names out, so don't read to much into it though. It has been confirmed many times now though that it will just be east blue.

GREAT CASTING!! I am feeling good about Sanji's casting. It's the hardest to cast because Sanji is very complex: he must be both cool and funny, strong and gentle, and good looking. I think Taz checks all these boxes.
I wanted to audition and even used what little connections i had to find whispers of casting but couldn't and was so stoked as a person with a IMDb to even try to audition because even just auditioning and not getting a part would of meant so much as a fan as it probably would of for so many. So instead I'm just going to use my networking skills and programming skills to try and get a decent one piece MMORPG made and am already working on islands in blender and unity and talking to some coders that know C+++. On a side note you should do a video on what a Good One Piece MMORPG should have i want to see what the one piece community wants for something like that.

Because he is gonna be the main character, he needs to capture all the personality that Luffy has As long as they portray their characters so well, then this live action is something else. As a huge one piece fan, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Cast seems good. Budget seems good. The biggest thing they need to get spot on apart from the character portrayal is the graphical special effects. We've all seen Mr fantastic do his stretches but this is on a while different level. Devil fruits are a huge part of one piece and will need extra special attention paid to the visuals. Tbf, worst comes to worst, it's crap and then I continue watching the anime and reading the manga. At least they gave it a shot!

Only set i can think of that got the wigs for blonde hair done right was Game of Thrones. And they spent quite a bit of money to actually get human hair lace front wigs to make the hair seem believable. Doubt they're going to commit to that level for One Piece.

Luffy - His big smile and the look with those round eyes when serious. And all of his goofiness!!
Ussopp - Being a coward and a comedy relief character!
Sanji - Acting like a simp. I'm really worried if Sanji's cast would be able to do those funny simpings of Sanji right!!

Well the live action can never be same as anime because anime allowed a variety of things which is very difficult to define in the live action so we have to be prepared that it's not gonna be same there will be alot difference in them.
