    Rode wheelie into face of jump.
    Front forks compressed and rebounded, before top of lip.
    Mean time rear shock is loaded like a bomb, going up face of jump.
    At top of jump, rear shock rebounds, but front has no rebound left to counterbalance .
    That's why it kicked him over the handlebars, the rear shock unloading.

    I know neck braces are uncomfortable, but once you wear it for a while you get used to it. I don't get why these pros don't wear them. Dungey wore one for a long time and then stopped. I don't get it. Paralysis is irreversible. Hopefully he heals up soon. Seems like a good kid and very talented.

    • @jonasv19
      @jonasv19 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Remember when kidney belts used to be a thing? You rarely see them these days. Same thing seems to be happening with neckbraces.

    • @joeshmoe12301230
      @joeshmoe12301230 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      jonasv19 haha. Oh yeah. I remember them. When I was a kid my dad made me wear a kidney belt, big chest protector with football size shoulder pads, elbow pads...the whole 9 yards. When I got older I ditched it all except for the knee braces (because that's what my heroes did). I was pretty lucky for a long time. I started riding again a few years ago and I decided I was definitely going to use a Leatt neck brace. I had a big crash over the bars and the bike flipped and came down on my back. I wish I had some sort of chest and back protection! I broke off (displaced) four ribs in my back, one in the front and my collar bone (again). My buddy saw the crash and swears the neck brace saved my neck. I was unconscious for about 5 minutes and I couldn't move my arms and legs for about two minutes after I woke up. I get what you're saying, but kidney belts really didn't do anything. Neck braces have a lot of testing and R&D behind them. Well, Leatt braces do anyway. There are also a lot of stories from guys like me who believe the brace made all the difference. We can't know for sure if things would have turned out any different, but I wouldn't take the risk of riding without one. I've not heard of anyone getting paralyzed while wearing one, so that's a good indicator of their effectiveness. I wouldn't ride without one and wouldn't let my kids ride without one either. In my opinion, not only are the pros risking their own safety (which they are free to do) but kids look up to them and want to wear, or not wear, what their hero does. When Jeff Emig and Jeremy McGrath stopped wearing their chest protectors I wanted to ditch mine! I wanted to look cool like them. There is always talk about how to make our sport safer, but the use of neck braces by the pros has decreased. It just doesn't make any sense to me. Just my 2 cents. 🍻

    • @jessemulock1163
      @jessemulock1163 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know about those leatt braces, everyone I know that's crashed in em end with broken collar bones. I'm sure there's other neck braces that are better though. But they should definitely have chest protectors with suspended shoulders.

    His suspension kicked under him , you can see he let off the throttle, if he held it wide open long enough to bring up the front end and leaned back a few more inches he would of been ok . Glade he is ok

    He hit false neutral at the worst possible time. Really unfortunate, i think if it went in a second later or sooner he woulda rode away from it.

    That's why Euro's stick to Mx with weak obstacles. Could you imagine that poor guy trying to race Supercross? That's why Carroli and what's his face from the Netherlands, Herlings, won't come race the big boy races. They saw how Kenny and Marv got worked. We'll see how Dylan does.

      A false neutral doesn't care if the jump is big or small. Ask AC, Cooper, Savatgy, Alessi or pretty much any pro rider ;)
