When I watched this at D23 I felt so blessed and thankful to have witnessed this. I cried throughout the whole show because his stories are tragic but triumphant. He's definitely a diamond in the rough.

When people say that Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin are the best composers in history, in my opinion, Alan Menken is truly the greatest composer who has touched millions of hearts with his reverent, colorful, rich, and often spiritual songs. I am so so grateful for God blessing him with this talent so that he can touch the lives of millions.

I lke Alan Menken but I would nt go to put him above the classical composers

@@avaclothilde5615 I would, classical composers were extremely talented, we aren't debating that. They didn't have the reach, and weren't able to impact people the same way with their music. I like Fur Elise as next as the next person, but if I had to choose between Beethoven and Alan Menken I would choose Alan Menken every time. He was part of my childhood. I grew up with his songs in my house. Sometimes a Disney playlist on loop.
Most everybody grew up knowing a lot of Alan Menkens songs, and even though people will have known some Beethoven, Mozart or Chopin, chances are not everyone will have grown up with them like they will have will Menken. They don't have the same effect.

I absolutely agree, and I would also argue that his songs are both reverent AND irreverent, which, I think, gives him a lot of his FUN and CHARM! :-P

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the addition of Prince Eric’s song. Alan Menken made the song of my childhood, the teacher of emotions through composition. I am forever indebted to him.

Alan Menken is truly a treasure 🪙 a golden legend . He touched my heart in so many ways. He is an EGOT and a REGOT. He composed Little Shop of Horrors, Little Mermaid,Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules,Home on the Range, Enchanted,Tangled and the new sequel Disenchanted. His music 🎵🎶 can only described by the size of his heart 💜 ❤️. Alan Menken is the best.
