Ohhh fun! I've done a couple playthroughs now as Voidtech Amazons, and I gotta say it's fun to the point of being hard to play anything else. In particular, amazon lancer-mounted echo walkers are incredible, since they can charge in, summon a duplicate, and still do their full damage.
Making this comment in the beginning so I don't know if you discover this later in the video, but there is an tactical op called Primal Override (3 op points) that can take over animals (percentage chance, chance increases if you sleep them, first), and you get to keep them afterwards. There's also a late game strategic op that can summon animals permanently. There is a doctrine that buffs animals. Finally, Amazons have a tactical op about mid-game called luring pylon, or something like that, that temporarily summons a T1 or T2 animal per turn until the lure is destroyed or runs out (3 turns I think, but not sure).
Thanks for the info. I've recorded more episodes and have got Primal Override, but haven't got it to land yet. What is the Summon Op like? What tier animal does it summon? Is it random or always the same?
I expect we will see more of Planetfall, assuming it was successful money wise.. One of the reasons the Devs made it was that they felt restricted by the fantasy genre of AoW.
Havnt played amazon yet but of all the races uve played oathbound had the strongest. Played sharkan and recently played syndicate. Psyfish t3 units are stupidly powerfull
Theres such an insane amount of lore for planetfall too, lots of things and stuff on the map connected once you learn it, i think is easily the most indepth of all the age of wonders games including 4.
Something that I found to be rather OP with the Amazon is a full stack of Lancers. They are but a T2, but when you upgrade them with the later tier laser modules and animal controllers, they're absolutely terrifying to deal with. Especially if they have the ability to incinerate T1 and T2 units later on. :P
Great and fun game. After beating all the achievements and completing the solo player experience with the random planet/scenarios, I found myself wishing there was more. Synthesis was my favorite secret tech for sweaty matches, and I enjoyed the themes between xenoplauge/promethean and pynumbra/Celestine. Voidtech Dvar was fun with cloned hammer boys. Definitely recommend the game to anyone on the fence. The late game is always a steam roll, but the real action is knocking players out as soon as possible and grabbing all the cosmite nodes. Patience is key in a head-on fight with the ai. Easy to draw them in. Auto resolve is a huge time saver, but sometimes it is more important to manually fight to get a few extra kills on a losing battle.
Hey hey, nice to get another run through Planetfall before AoW4 drops. I try not to get hyped for games, but what they've showed off is looking really solid.
Hey dude, just wanna say I enjoy all your content. Ofc I found you through Warhammer, but its important to know that people enjoy stuff besides your "main game" as well. Sometimes its frustratingly hard to branch out on yt!
i also play 8v1s and i love to see other people approach this challange. Cant wait to see if you are going the same path that i do - dominate one asap to wipe out the others.
Planetfall is currently a favorite of the 4X games I own. I'm not so sure with AoW4. A good game at first, but.. the longer I play that the more I feel like something is off.
Did you ever play Age of Wonders I or II? AoWII: Shadow Magic is one of my most played games ever. It was a visual style I miss with todays games. Also XP used to go to the unit that made the kill. That made a fun mini game of making sure the units you want to level get the final hit. How does XP work in planetfall?
I never played those titles. I believe XP in Planetfall is evenly split between all participating units. The XP you gain depending on the tier of units that you kill. AoW3 had a system where you got XP for each action/ability. Which led to a mini game of spamming useless abilities at the end of battle to try and maximise XP gain.
Thank you, Indrid for uploading this game. Plant Fall is a hidden gem, it has great gameplay, and I love the units and building designs.
It's such a shame it's not more popular, I bought aow4 and never play it, still clocking 8+ a day into planetfall.
Thanks for covering this one. It's been sitting in my Steam Library for so long and I finally started playing it. I love it!
Didn't even watch yet, but know I'm going to love it. I don't watch your stuff often but I love it when I do.
Thanks for checking it out, bud!

@@IndridCasts Random tier 3. It's actually more mid-game than late game, I suppose. It's called Clone Predator.
A random T3 sounds great!
Love seeing planetfall content

Oh yes it's Planetfall time again!
Fun to see one more before AoW4 hits! Wondering if you'll be hit at some point by all the AIs at the same time lol.
Its about damn time

Amazons have 2 plants in their roster, so they are brst race for Growth mods.
Ever thought about 40k Gladius? I just picked it up on sale and my first game was fun. We’ll see how the future games go

I'm excited for aow4. Btw aow3 vs planetfall which one do you prefer.
I've grown to prefer Planetfall myself, but they're both great games!
Good Luck
