@@BeFree-BeFrugalI'll be joining you as well. I shopped on Dec 21st '23, & not again til Jan 3rd. Only spent 13.90. If i'm near Lidl i might buy some veg Sun/Mon. Happy New Year. 🐈⬛☘️🙏🇮🇪
Good morning, Jill, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA Your low spend/no spend January is a great idea. I'm sure there are a lot of people who have Christmas bills coming in! Great to have a few more dollars/pounds to pay on it! Take care ❤Peggy❤
Ooh Jill, with those lovely nuts & seeds you took to the seaside for your lunch, you could make your own healthy breakfast cereal, just add in a cup of oats & you could have it with yogurt or milk. I noted a great tip in one of your videos to buy full fat milk & water it down. Being a woman if a certain age its important for us to have healthy fats. Great video as always, thank you Jill💐
Yes, thanks for the reminder I’ll be going in this week .. it’s a designated warm space with free tea and coffee… getting colder this week. Take care 💐
@@BeFree-BeFrugal I'm in rural Australia. Summer is just hitting us. We had +37°c yesterday. It's not as bad, heatwise, as it sounds. We always look for free local activities. We do this when travelling too. You'd be surprised what we found, when in America with the kids, was around simply by googling 'free things to do in ...'
Yes Jill, I got lucky yesterday also. I went to Lidl and picked up 8 trays of diced beeef, mince, and beef strips for only 1.10 euro each. Then I went to a charity shop and got the following..a fabulous NEW pink love hearts show cap, and 2 very fancy designer mugs for 1 euro each. My only child heads off to his work experience release from University in March...so as I was leaaving the charity shop, I spotted a dark green luggage carrier on wheels..mint condition for 8 euro..delighted with myself..
Happy New Year! I agree with you about not only buying things that are cheap for the sake of it - ie you mentioned using the oven for an hour (would negate the inexpensive roast). Something is only a bargain if you will actually use it
👍👍 great discipline Jill. I find post Christmas to be very weird. We had 1 kg bags of carrots with Santa on them reduced to 18 cents/10 p. I scored a 2.5 kg turkey and a 1 kg turkey breast roll covered in bacon with sage butter stuffing for 1 pound each!??? Just because they had Christmas on them. What was weird was that people were ignoring them but buying easter hot crossed buns that are already in store!!😛 I save the turkey in my freezer and we celebrate Christmas in July when it's cold here in Oz. I've got an air fryer Jill. It is fantastic just for one person and cuts electricity/time down significantly. We do chicken breast/chips/pies/pasta bake etc in it. Well worth it. It's a mini oven. I'm intending to use it more when I'm on my own and don't have to bake for 5 people. ❤😊😊 Belinda ... oh I forgot, when I buy reduced fat milk it goes off much faster than full fat. We also have Jordan's here in Oz. 👍👍✌💜
Happy New Year Jill, think I've blown my no/low spend already but will do my best to make up for it. I'm doing an eat out of my freezer but will replace as I find it on offer. Xx
Oh those spiced biscuits are lovely, I remember them from growing up in Germany, such a shame I can’t have them anymore as have to be gluten free but luckily I found some gluten free ones in Waitrose👍. That lunch you made for your friend looked lovely. Happy New Year Jill and thank you for helping me get through a difficult year xx
That meal looked lovely. You got proper floods there, what part of the country are you (roughly, I know people don’t like to reveal their location)? It’s turned freezing cold now!
I just hate the way they have Easter eggs out already! It just seems like we are always on to the next thing instead of enjoying the time we are actually in!

Hope you find bargain buys 💫🙋♀️
Our Sainsbury has reduced the bags of mixed nuts to 30p. The cereal shelf was empty in the areas they had reduced boxes.
Thanks for the tip re the nuts, I don’t think I looked at those 👍
Low spend, no spend life here! I like to get sale items to replace household linens in January. I get my bus pass in February🎉
I was only saying to a new friend yesterday, I’ve been frugal all my life. Love my bus pass 😁
You really know how to make a meal look good and very appetizing Jill 👍🏻 All the best for 2024 🎉🎊
Many thanks Heidi, take care 🙋♀️💫

Yes I water it down more for tea…less for coffee 😀
As I’m not too well my husband’s doing the shopping. He’s doing well. Your bargains were excellent, and how clever to think of the cooking time too.
Hope you’re feeling better soon, yes if I’m putting the oven on I make sure I fill it.🌞
Low/No spend tip for you.
Next time you are in the library, see if they have a notice board or flyers out. They may have free activities in your area.

I’m retired retail so they don’t tempt me, I don’t buy my grandchildren Easter eggs, they get a solid bar of chocolate, much better value!
Yes solid chocolate is much cheaper 👍
