Hmmm...I might have missed your vid on the definition of musician. Seems pretty specific, maybe not the most commonly used one and begging a few questions...like: Are songwriters musicians? Lyricists? Was Michael Jackson (who apparently sung all the parts to the band) a musician? Drummers who don't compose? Are beatboxers different? Guitar players who don't know what voicings they're playing (maybe Son House? or some kid who figures out a new tuning s/he loves?) Wow, music without these contributors would not be something I'd want to go to the gig for. To me, a musician is someone who contributes to the music. [I'd maybe feel more settled with you using the phrase "complete musician" or 'master musicians' or 'players', of which I agree, there are fewer and fewer.] BUT I have to say that some of these 'complete musicians' are at a risk stagnating the music with their focus on technique, theory, academia, ego and potentially forgetting that music comes from a place of creativity, joy and connection. Music is the arrangement of sounds. So technically speaking, anyone who can talk is a musician. Anyone who can bang the door to create a sound on purpose is a musician. Rappers are of course, musicians. Anyone who can fart in a sequence can also be called a musician.
