Addressing a lot of questions I once had with the Rear JDM Bumper install for the evo 8 and 9. How to install the JDM evo rear bumper correctly using all the oem brackets was something I always wanted to do and finally I found out how to do it & what brackets I needed. Hopefully some of this information is helpful for some of you guys doing the swap over to the JDM bumper. Like always if you guys have any questions please don't hesitate to leave them down in the comments. Much love!

You welcome for the JDM part numbers 😎.
Also for USDM cars, just use the STM crash bar along with a license bracket (optional from Amazon but not required) and the license will fit perfectly where it’s position higher.
The lower bracket is to help the structure of the diffuser so it doesn’t get that belly effect.

For usdm car, I would highly recommend afterhours automotive rear crash bar.
Has protection and looks. You can mount license plate lights, and it has a special bracket for the bottom of your jdm bumper , so it doesn't flap around or move.

I installed the jdm 9 bumper onto my 8(jdm) last week, I didn’t know it needed different light bracket also, stm didn’t sell them and there’s like no information on it. I kind of just DIY’d the lights to be in that area above the plate, as for the actual plate bracket, i bought the jdm 9 bracket, and I reused the 2 rubber thingy from jdm 7/8 bumper plate bracket, and it comes out to be the same location as this proper way also. thanks for the video though, now i should look for those light bracket too.

Hi Chris, I fitted the 9 JDM bumper to my 7.. to get the plate sitting higher I used 2 long screws plus 2 spacers, the spacers went between the plate and the bracket on the rear of the car.. I then used a couple of countersunk washers to tidy it up visually, it looks so much better than being down low. I’m in the UK and find your videos really informative, thanks 🙏

Your Evo looks smooth and clean. My question for you is where is the rear crash beam. You got no protection for the body itself. I did some searching myself for my 03 Evo for the jdm Evo 9 rear and went with demonworks rear crash bar. And I didn't need the extra bracket for my tag. The crash bar had the L bracket welded to it and lined up fine.
