Hi Ray. My last time as a guest at HMP was in 1976, (Scrubs B Wing - Borstal Allocation), I remember those cards by the door. Different craic in Borstal. Years later, talking to my Ol' Man, (who did some bird in Wandsworth in 1950s), I asked him how the term nonce came about & he said the same as you. However he thought of them as NONSENSE cases - despicable crimes that don't make sense.
Hahaha how old are you mate i doubt if you've ever seen a prison pls don't talk silly behave asked Daddy get mummy make you a nice cup of coffee come check it out these a good man 🤣🤣🤣
@@bangbangrayhill2218 Usage of the word nonce increased once again in the 1970s in England. This prison slang term came to mean “sex offender,” “child molester,” or “pedophile/paedophile.” It has been difficult for linguists to get authentication on where the term specifically actually came from, but its first recorded usage is in the year 1970. Despite its unknown origin, there are a few theories about where this term originated. One popular but incorrect theory is that it is an acronym that stands for “not on normal communal exercise.” This references the fact that sex offenders were often separated from other prisoners, and thus, not on normal communal exercise. However, this theory has been debunked. It’s more likely that the term is a slang term from the Lincolnshire dialect in the UK. There, the term nonse (with slightly different spelling than nonce) is short for the word nonsense and was used to describe someone who is good for nothing and full of nonsense. The word nonce changed in spelling and was adopted by prison culture in the UK.
@DMWBN3 love these little boys mate you would 💩 yourself if we were face to face little boy go ask mummy make you a little orange drink little boys should be seen not Hurd bed time for you hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
This is 'nonce'-sense. No-one really knows what that acronym stands for - and many versions are claimed as the genuine one. As to prisoners being allowed to exact punishment as they see fit, that is not for them to dish out - and certainly not for individuals with their own distorted sense of right and wrong. People are sent to prison as a punishment - not 'for' punishment.
Can't understand why these kids comment and criticise you without even checking the facts first.... Keyboard warriors. If they checked their facts first, they would know you are spot on. 👍🥊
