I have been trying to get a similar system built for my home with a different EV but quickly stopped. Any fire that requires an insurance inspection will allow the insurance company to deny compensation. Doesn’t have to be an EV fire. If you have an EV wired to provide power to your home you will be denied insurance coverage. Do your own research.
Unfortunately, insurance companies often find ways to deny claims. Regarding my setup, all the equipment is being used as intended. It’s crucial to use an interlock to prevent power from flowing back onto the utility line. This could pose a danger to unsuspecting line workers.
@@avman2cl yes it will run my entire home for 2-5 days depending on usage. Then I can drive 2 miles to a DC fast charger and replenish the battery in about 40 minutes. Power outages are rare at my home so I expect to use it as a backup for hours not days so I can just charge back up once power is restored.

Yes just like if you had a generator and when the power comes back, you can go to the gas station and pump more gas for it.
