I saw this tour in Tucson at Club Congress with Fuck and Smoke (NYC.) First time I'd seen Cat Power outside of New York where I lived until 1997 when I graduated high school. Before this show, I was at the Cat Power show with Chavez at the Bowery Ballroom which was brand new at the time. Before that... I was at the Cat Power/ Guv'ner/ Bardo Pond show at the 2nd Knitting Factory (Manhattan) in 1996. I'm still trying to think of the first time I saw Chan/Cat Power. I'd like to say it was 1994 at CB's 313 next to CBGB's but I don't know if it was there or Brownies. I loved those times. I was 15, 16, 17 with an obviously fake ID. No one cared then. I smoked then too, and we could smoke indoors. People were soooooooo less uptight about everything then.
The beginning, when she gets closer to the mic to sing and then shakes her head... You can see it's such a struggle for her to start singing. Maybe stage fright, I don't know. I love this woman and this performance, though.
@@JurajMojzisikno homie...obviously you don't know very much about her history...up till late 90s/early 2000s; she would stop playing&dart off stage. It was usually people talking over the music that brought this...had nothing to do w/stage fright. I was manytimes just her not understanding that even if it was not PERFECT, it still was beautiful. I could say more...if you want, I'll tell more...but I don't want to shove anything in your face...peace now
Man, I almost went to see her at The Bayou in Baton Rouge this same week... Now her music is much different (to put it politely), and The Bayou has burned down & been replaced by a pizza place. Time flies indeed...
An experimental show like this its an amazing religious ceremony. So, why don't you people Just shut up?...I realised that Chan Marshall is wonderful even don't singing or playing, How is that possible? Magic? #Love Cat Power
Funny, the way we mistake magic and missteps. This woman never intended to be a famous musician or muse. Is it a caricature or did her life allow the South to swallow her up before the industry did? It all seems so pointless and silly. Discuss.
my momma named me after her, im eternally grateful to have been born with her music in my life
yr name is cat power?

hauntingly beautiful
I fell in love with her a long time ago
Why those uneducated people are talking while the sounds of love are floating on?
Exactly 23 years. My God.
i like how the guy in the beginning is like "im sorry, im fucking sorry, shit! " matches the title of the song(: my opinion

She's just stoned ;)
Severe stage fright. Often hid behind her hair or back to audience in early days.
She is simply preforming the song. She literally does all her songs different from night to night, just amazing live

This is a genius recording because it captures how so inconsiderate people are.

It seems you have never seen her live and yet disparaging her? You are missing out. The greatest live performer on the planet.

i appreciate you posting all these classic cat power vids, but a lot are out of sync. you should try to fix that cause it's a little distracting.
yeah; the audience is RUDE!
Music industry = Alcohol
The drums is too slow...
